"Other Borders" Now on Sale
There are borders everyone sees: the looming fence with its sporadic observation platforms, the tags claiming this block or that in the name of a local gang or drug cartel, and the wrought-iron fences surrounding gated communities.
There are borders that are real only in our minds, like the imaginary lines that divide country from country, or one race from another.
But in this little southwestern town, another border reveals itself to those gifted with the power to see it: the veil between the worlds. Even today, the old ways of magic are still taught; spells, curses, visions and transformations are still practiced, and opposing clans are locked in a daily battle that no policia would ever understand.
Summer's Coming Sale - As the temperature rises out here in the Mojave Desert, Other Borders Standalone Edition is on sale for 25% off, until the end of May. That's 25% off either the PDF or the paperback version. Check out this DramaSystem game of drugs, money and magic in the modern American Southwest, and bring a dose of Magical Realism to your gaming table!

UbiquiCity - Press Release
Enter the Augmented Future in UbiquiCity

In UbiquiCity, the world is augmented and identity is fluid. Satellite-guided cars drive themselves. Busy drones fill the skies. Cloud-assisted bots perform once-human jobs. Appliances, vehicles, buildings, media devices, products, streetlights, roadsigns and even toilets communicate electronically, all under the watchful eye of the AI called "CitySystem". For the inhabitants of the UbiComp zones, life is sweet. But not everyone in the city is so blessed.
As If Productions has announced development on "UbiquiCity," an ambitious crossover project including both (1) a GM's Sourcebook and (2) an anthology of original short stories, set in the same world. The system-agnostic sourcebook for science fiction roleplaying games will allow gamemasters to take their players into the world of the book, pursuing their own stories in a rich and dynamic environment.
Curated by Tod Foley (creator of "DayTrippers" and "CyberSpace"), the collaboratively-designed setting weaves the imagination of ten gifted fiction writers into a multi-layered depiction of a foreseeable future, and raises questions about consciousness, reality, and what it means to be human. The anthology features short stories and prose by Niko Carcosa, Antony M Copeland, Tod Davies, DeAnna Knippling, SL Koch, Shariann Lewitt, Kira Magrann, Adrian McCauley, T Reynolds, and Josh Roby. Both books are slated for release in Winter 2017.
A Patreon exists for anyone who wishes to help support the UbiquiCity project. Patrons will get a look behind the scenes as the project develops, and higher level patrons will receive copies of the sourcebook as thanks for their support.

Project Ubi - Anthology and Sourcebook

Have you ever curated an anthology? How about curating an anthology that's written collaboratively while writing a GM's sourcebook based on it? Anybody? Beuller?
Well, I'm doing it right now, and it's - uh - it's a lot. It's YUGE.
But it's going pretty well so far, and this week I opened up all the social media pages and made the announcements: Project Ubi is underway!
WTF is Project Ubi? Fair question.
The Project Ubi team is a group of writers and game designers whose are collaboratively creating a detailed and internally consistent near-future city: UbiquiCity. This city will be written and published in two ways: (1) as an anthology of short stories, and (2) as a GameMaster’s Sourcebook for any science fiction roleplaying game.
Writers and worldbuilders on the project team include:
Niko Carcosa
Antony Copeland
Tod Davies
DeAnna Knippling
S L Koch
Shariann Lewitt
Kira Magrann
Adrian McCauley
T Reynolds
Josh Roby

RPG means TTRPG
I am biased, of course. :-)
But why are there no groups up here devoted to the subject of Roleplaying Games? Not as in *playing* them up here (there's enough of that), but rather: discussing their creation, structure, cohesiveness and use.
I can't be the only GM or RPG designer here on GoodReads, right?
Speak out, TTRPGers!

I create tabletop games and digital interactive entertainments. When I'm not creating them, sometimes I write about them.
