LUCILLE TURNER is the author of two previous historical novels. Her debut, Gioconda, was described by the Financial Times as "a lush, evocative, and remarkably accomplished debut novel". It was translated into several languages and won Spain's Hislibris Prize for Historical Fiction in 2012.
Her second novel, The Sultan, the Vampyr and the Soothsayer, was awarded the Bronze Medal for Europe – Best Regional Fiction at the 2017 Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY Awards).
Lucille holds a Master's degree in Comparative Literature and has worked as a translator, journalist and teacher. She lives in Bournemouth and is particularly interested in the lives of historical figures whose ideas changed the course of history.
