My Stupid Hat Addiction

I hate having pictures taken. I don't like the way I feel when I see myself in a picture. I almost always have that immediate cringe, and the picture always surprises me (not in a good way), which is crazy. I should know what I look like, right? I see myself in the mirror every morning. So, do I just ignore my flaws in the mirror or do cameras really make me look that bad? When I had to have a picture taken for my website, my mom sternly said, "Just don't wear your hat, Destiny." She was right.

Does karma really exist?

I think karma is basically living by the Golden Rule.

Does karma really exist? Sometimes I hope it does and sometimes I’m terrified and worried that I’m in serious trouble if it does. No one is perfect. What if I lose my smile for a minute, or two, or more – uh-oh.

According to Psychologist Sonja Lyubomirsky of the University of California, keeping positive is the most important component of happiness. The other components of happiness are practice acts of kindness, take time to enjoy the thin

Motivational Monday - A Story About a Personal Friend

Imagine, if you will or if you can, having to live in complete isolation with no sight, no sound and no voice. Imagine living that nightmare at only nine years old. Imagine having to stay that way for a month.

John Talbott of Buchanan can easily imagine the above scenario because he lived it. Talbott was born with a rare birth defect known as Treacher Collins syndrome or TCS. It only occurs in approximately every 10,000 births. Characteristics of the genetic defect include various facial abnor

A Smile Every Sunday - Fondling in Bed

Fondling in Bed (Author Unknown) -- After 20 years of marriage, a couple was lying in bed one evening, when the wife felt the husband begin fondling her in ways he hadn't in quite some time. He almost tickled as his fingers started at her neck, and then began moving down past the small of her back. He then caressed her shoulders and neck, slowly worked his way down over her breasts, stopping just over her lower stomach. He then proceeded to place his hand on her left inner arm, caressed past the

Fun Tidbits...About Me

A few fun facts you probably don't know about me. 1. I do not use a pen name. 2. My younger brother likes to call me "Chuckles." 3. I eat every meal in a certain order. I eat ALL the beans, then All the corn, then the bread. Also, none of the food on my plate can touch or mix together - yuck. 4. My big toe

A few stories about "fools"

A smile is a curve that sets everything straight.  – Phillis Diller

In the spirit of April and April Fool’s Day, here are a few stories with a “fool”. I hope these memories produce a bright smile. I know I laugh when I think of them.

The first time I heard my dad say that he needed to rotate the tires on his truck, I was very confused. I thought he was going to jack the car up and spin all four tires round and round, which is exactly what it did on the pavement anyway! I was so embarrassed wh
