AtGames Acquires Ms. PAC-MAN-related Rights
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ – AtGames® Cloud Holdings Ltd., a leader in interactive entertainment products, today announced that it has acquired all the rights of General Computer Corporation (GCC) with respect to Ms. PAC-MAN under agreements between GCC and Bandai Namco.
In 1981, GCC developed certain source code, characters, music, game play and cartoons expressed in various media including but not limited to read-only memory (ROM) used in running the Ms. PAC-MAN and PAC-BABY (sold as JR. PAC-MAN) games. In 1983, GCC entered into an agreement with the predecessor of Bandai Namco with regard to Ms. PAC-MAN, which was later amended in 2008 in an agreement between Bandai Namco and the former shareholders of GCC, who had become the successors-in-interest to GCC after its dissolution.
“As part of our ongoing initiative to be caretakers of important cultural touchstones, we are privileged to gain these valuable rights pertaining to the iconic Ms. PAC-MAN arcade game,” says Dr. Ping-Kang Hsiung, CEO of AtGames.

Heart of Neon – A documentary about a life in video games centered around Jeff Minter and Ivan Zorzin of Llamasoft
There is a new film in production about retro gaming legend Jeff Minter and his company Llamasoft. Paul Docherty, A.K.A. dokk, the C64 graphics designer for games like Druid II, The Last Ninja, and Dominator, is making this film about the history of video games through the story of Jeff’s unlikely four decade career.

Top Emulators Amiga Forever and C64 Forever 8 Receive “R2” Update
September 9, 2019 – Cloanto released today the “R2” (8.2.2.0) update for Amiga Forever 8 and C64 Forever 8.
The “R2” build is the result of eight months of work since the previous major release, and takes into account user feedback, operating system enhancements and numerous features from our own wish list.
This is a free update for existing version 8 users, who can get the new version through the Help/About dialog in Amiga Forever and C64 Forever. The updated full installation package can also be accessed via the original confirmation email or from the new Help/My Downloads and Keys menu item, and is set to remain available for 10 years after an order.
The new release further delivers an important milestone in the effort to implement better mechanisms for documenting and delivering version changes. Changelog details for available, installed and past versions, including early access builds, are now accessible from the Changelog tab under Help/About, and as part of the software update notifications.
Other new and enhanced features include:

The Setup Wizard and Tip of the Day components were also refined, aiming to ease setup and feature discovery. These tutorial functions can also be invoked from the Help menu, and are designed to expose important and lesser-known features to both novice and longtime users.
Overall, the project remains permeated by attention to detail, usability and beauty, which have been part of our Amiga software development work for more than three decades.
