Why Does God Allow Suffering?
Part 3 of 4 God's Glory Revealed"Together with Christ we are heirs of God's glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering." Romans 8:17b NLT
To share in his glory, we must also share in his suffering. That says it all, doesn't it? How dare we whine about our suffering and pain, when King Jesus, God and human, the only perfect man who ever walked this earth suffered tremendous emotional, mental, spiritual and physical pain -- although he never sinned!Talk about unfa...

Why Does God Allow Suffering?
Part 2 of 4PRIZED POSSESSION
"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy." James 1:2Last week, (and yes, again yesterday when I mistakenly resent - sorry!) we learned that in our trials, God's children suffer no condemnation. (If by some chance you missed it, READ HERE.) So God doesn't condemn us in our suffering. But I don't know about considering troubles as an opportunity for joy. That sounds like a stretch. For most of us, t...

Why Does God Allow Suffering?
Part 1 of 4NO CONDEMNATION
“Dear friends, don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you.” 1 Peter 4:12Trials are certainly not strange. In fact, they are normal in our sinful world. No matter how perfect someone’s life looks, we ALL suffer trials. It’s part of the human condition. But WHY does God allow suffering? In the wake of Hurricane Dorian, I wonder too. Thankfully, our home and area weren’t hit too hard. But my prayers go out...

Comfortably Numb
Twelve hours from the time of this writing, I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. Please excuse any typos since I was typing left-handed, hunt-and-peck, at 1:00AM. Apparently, the medication-induced, long afternoon nap disturbed my sleep pattern. Oh, joy.So I decided to make the most of the thoughts running through my head. This being my fifth time under the knife, I notified East Cooper Hospital of my history of anesthetic wearing off too soon. After my first surgery at the tender age...

Out of the Darkness - Into the LIGHT
"For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light." I Peter 2:9[image error]Everyone endures darkness - those times when we lose a loved one, suffer an incurable illness, or miss someone who moved away. Darkness manifests maladies from depression to addiction to doubting God.In the cold cave of darkness, anguish, pain and fear feel so black that...

Miss You More... and a GIVEAWAY!
Did y'all miss me? Well, I miss you more!!!! And I've missed writing. It's been six busy, fun, fulfilling months... but six months nonetheless of no contact with readers and the writing world. Are you wondering what on earth is up? Thank the Lord, I haven't been sick, incapacitated or suffering from writer's block. (Writer's block? Never!) Despite the photo, it's not because I've been walking the beach, vacationing in the tropics, or reading books and eating bon-bons. (Although I do squeeze t...

Season of Giving
"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantlyor under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." 2 Corinthians 9:7Welcome to the Season of Giving!
We've enjoyed Thanks Giving - such a special time for family, food and faith. And then Black Friday - when everyone searches for that perfect Gift for Giving.(Well, not everyone. Personally, I boycott Black Friday or any other day that involves masses of crazy people crowding into a small space. At least if...

Thankful for God's Sanctuary
"When I tried to understand all this, it seemed hopeless, until I entered God's sanctuary." Psalm 73:16
The last few weeks have been a blur. Previously, the blog had been steady. Every week I was writing and it was good. And then... chaos. My husband and I own a small business. Recent changes left us with uncertainty for our main source of income. As we contemplated the future, a door opened with an opportunity. It seemed promising. We prayed - oh, how we prayed. We had reservations. We weren't...

Chosen and Dangerous!
"For you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light." I Peter 2:9You are Chosen by God, and you are DANGEROUS! That was the theme of a women's conference at Seacoast Church, my home church in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina this week.
Once we realize we are CHOSEN by Almighty God, once we accept His salvation, find His healing, and disc...
