Glorified!
“How weary we grow of our present bodies. That is why we look forward eagerly to the day when we shall have heavenly bodies that we shall put on like new clothes.”2 Corinthians 5:2 TLB
Iridescent light sparkled all around Kate James. Like sunshine filled with diamond dust, the atmosphere glowed with white, glittering light.Kate’s body felt as light as cotton candy and energized like bubbly champagne. Her emotions rejoiced as if she was bursting through the ribbon at the end of a marathon....

Time to Enjoy!
"And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God." Ecclesiastes 3:13
Have you been praying and fasting during January like I have? Or have you tried Dry January like some of my friends - when they don't imbibe in alcohol this month? (Since I rarely drink, January is usually dry for me anyway. We still have champagne in the fridge from New Year's Eve.)But giving up sugar - that's another story altogether! It's been Bitter January or Sour January...

21 Blessings in Disguise
"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing." James 1:2-4
Until now, I never understood the admonition to have "joy in trials". What a joke! Craziness, I thought. Yet here I am with blessings - IN DISGUISE.For those new to the blog, in...

Reckless Faith
"So that your faith may not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power."1 Corinthians 2:5

Bored and Hungry
Do you have trouble distinguishing between God’s path for your life and your own desires? I do.I know God’s way is best, but how do I know what that is? Fast and pray. I’ve heard that all my life. But who actually stops eating, working, participating in life to fast and pray? To not think about the next chore or responsibility or meal? Praying all day without food brings to mind three words: Bored. And. Hungry.
I love God and all, but after 30 minutes or so, what more is there to say? After a...

A New Year for Love
"Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love." 1 Corinthians 13:13Love IS the answer, and the source of all love is God himself. Best of all, God's love is perfect -- unfailing and everlasting.
So if we've been looking for love in all the wrong places, looking to God's love as our example is the right place! "And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence...

Joy!
"He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth," Luke 1:14Joy to the world! Sing Hallelujah! Christ the Lord has come to earth![image error]Even those who don't believe in Jesus can't help but celebrate Christmas. It's a season of singing and family and feasting and gathering and giving and jubilance and JOY. We love the season so much, that we extend it right on to New Year's Day. Even back in Bible times, the celebration continued."The whole assembly then agreed to...

Gentleness for Generations
Merry, Merry! Christmas is almost here! As families gather in the coming days, folks from one to ninety-one will join in celebration of this holiest of holidays. Excitement runs high - as do expectations.
We've gathered overstimulated childrenand overstressed adults into overcrowded rooms filled with festive fragility. We've crowded into homes packed with people, presents and problems. We've brought an abundance of differing perspectives, passions, and politics. No wonder pride, prejudice,...

Goodness Gracious!
Goodness gracious, indeed! We've entered the 12 Days of Christmas! So before we count down to five golden rings and a partridge in a pear tree, let's talk about another fruit - a fruit of the spirit: Goodness.
"You are a chosen people... you can show others the goodness of God, for He called you out of darkness and into His wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9For anyone who's ever described someone as having a "good heart", you know what we're talking about. God calls each one of us to have a good...

Pathway to Peace
Peace. That elusive calm in mind, heart, and soul. What's the pathway to peace during this hectic Christmas season?
Peace of Mind"You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you." Isaiah 26:3That verse holds the secret. Trust God. Fix our thoughts on Him. Slow down, trust God's plan, path, and provision, and fix our thoughts on God. Then we will enjoy elusive peace. He calms the chaos in mind, heart, and home. Praise and gratitude give peace of mind....
