CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL book description

Here’s the official description for CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL.

Nadia Moran saved the world and tens of millions of lives.

All it cost was her sanity.

But sane or not, Lord Morvilind has work for her to do. This time, he wants her to work with the brutal and murderous Rebels.

And unless Nadia is clever, the Rebels will start their revolution with her death…

CLOAK GAMES questions & answers!

As editing continues on CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL, it’s time for some QA about the series!

Bret asks concerning the cover for CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL:

“Great cover! Does Nadia actually wear leather in this one? (Or is that pleather?)”

Nah. The closest Nadia comes in TOMB HOWL is a black navy coat. She would be ticked if she saw the way she was dressed on the covers.

I am pleased to report that the rough draft of CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL is finished at 65,700 words.

Need to wrap up a few side projects first (including the print layout of the internationally bestselling FROSTBORN: THE DRAGON KNIGHT), and then I’ll start editing CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Tune in then to see the cover image!

CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL update

Now 60k words into the rough draft of CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL.

CLOAK GAMES is the only series I write in 1st person, which requires writing everything from Nadia Moran’s perspective. After the events of TRUTH CHAIN, it’s been an interesting challenge to write from her altered perspective.

Interesting, but fun!

a preview of CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL

As long-time readers know, the CLOAK GAMES series tends to have extended plot arcs.

I think the plot arc of the first three books could be summed up with the words THE SHADOW HUNTER.

For books four through six, the plot arc could be summed up with the words THE LORD INQUISITOR.

What will be the plot arc of the next several books? What foe will Nadia face next? I think these words sum it up best:

SKY HAMMER.

CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL excerpt

Now working on Chapter 12 of 14 of CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL.

I am pleased to report that in this book I managed to sneak in both a Dungeons & Dragons joke and a John Wick joke, though sadly not in the same chapter.

Let’s have a brief excerpt from CLOAK GAMES: TOMB HOWL, during which Nadia engages in a constructive dialog with a co-worker:

“I don’t give compliments. I state facts. It is frankly baffling that a pretty young woman would know how to wire a bomb properly while possessing unusual magical skill, but here you are.”

“Pretty young woman?” I said. “If you’re trying to flirt with me, I should warn you that it is really a bad idea.”

He snorted. “No, the boss is the one who prefers to seduce damaged women. I would prefer to shoot you in the head and get it over with.”

“I can’t believe I’m about to say this,” I said, “but I think I preferred the flirting.”
