Super Metroid finished!

I never got the chance to play it in the 90s, but today I finally beat Super Metroid.

Amazing game. Lots of fun. I can see why Samus Aran is an consistently popular character over the decades. And the final battle against Mother Brain, when the Super Metroid sacrifices itself to save Samus and give her the Hyper Beam powerup, is one of the best final boss battles I’ve played.

A fun game, but hard! It’s just as well I never played it in the 90s because I never would have had time to finish it. To beat it in the modern era, I found a good guide on the Internet and just followed its directions.

Now I’ll have to decide what to play next. Do I want to finish a modern game like Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night or an older classic? The nice thing about the older classics is that most of them have save states, so you can save exactly where you left off. When you’re a busy guy like me who writes 10,000 words a day, that comes in handy.

The Pulp Writer Show, Episode 24: Nine Things That Have Changed In Nine Years Of Self-Publishing

As of April 2020, I’ve now been self-publishing for nine (9!) years, so I thought it would be fun to take a look back and talk about nine things that have changed in the last nine years.

DRAGONTIARNA: LEGIONS underway!

Now that WRAITHSHARD: SIEGE & STORM is out, it’s time to start on the rough draft of DRAGONTIARNA: LEGIONS!

I’m on Chapter 4 of 28, 22,000 words in, and if all goes well, the book should be out towards the end of May on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play, and Smashwords. Though it might slip to June, but hopefully that will not happen. Yet if 2020 has taught us anything, it’s the occasional futility of attempting to predict the future.

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone!

It is always good to remember the original:

1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

8 And they remembered his words,

9 And returned from the sepulchre, and told all these things unto the eleven, and to all the rest.
