It’s the Fucking Babadook.
This just about describes the scope of the craziness that is the RNC.
Btw, The Babadook is a great film on Netflix and I recommend it very much.

The disaster otherwise known as the RNC
A short entry because I can’t think of anything else to say except for this:
I have seen the RNC and it is so, so, so bad.
SO BAD.
I can’t even…
The first night was terrible. Scott Baio basically calling Hillary Clinton the “c” word, Melania Trump caught plagiarizing Michelle Obama, everyone bashing the Clinton/Obama term (I noticed no one so much as mentioned Biden…), and the grave misuse of Queen’s We Are the Champion during Trump’s entrance, which is hilarious considering Trump/Pence’s political views.
I don’t even know what to think about Rudy G’s speech. He acted like he was on meth for the duration of the speech. I was genuinely surprised he wasn’t foaming at the mouth.
But the worst part of the RNC convention was what happened today…when he was officially nominated to be the Republican Presidential Candidate.
Then I just started getting images of this:
If you don’t get the meme, it’s basically from a movie called Idiocracy which was terrifying in many different ways. As I saw the delegates standing up for Trump, I kept getting flashbacks to that terrible, horrifying movie that might not just be a movie anymore.
Just for the record, I’m not a Hillary Clinton fan, but right now, she’s the only thing keeping Trump from getting into the White House and turning Idiocracy into truth.
If that’s not incentive enough to vote for her, then I don’t know what is.

How my mornings start…
I’m trying to make an effort to post up more frequent blog entries, if only to give my brain a warmup before I jump into my wip for the day.
Some of the following blog entries might be pretty silly, insipid, downright pointless, but I do apologize in advance.
Today, since it is Monday and the beginning of the week, and I just woke up, I’d like to talk about my usual schedule, from the moment I open my eyes to the moment I get to my WIP and start typing for the day.
I wake up in the morning, feeling like P-di—
OOPS. WRONG PERSON, SORRY.
(Incidentally enough, I very rarely wake up feeling like P. Diddy, mostly because I never drink. Would like to, but I’m Asian and I start breaking out in hives if I drink anything vaguely alcoholic. Seriously. Look this up on Google: Asians and alcohol. It’s a thing, I swear)
/clears throat
Okay, so usually, I wake up in the morning around 5/6ish, although since I’m traveling, my waking time is all over the clock, literally. But when I finally decide to get my ass off the bed, couch, floor, whatever, I take a shower immediately to get rid of that dull “IJUSTGOTOUTOFBEDANDCAN’TFORMASINGLECOHERENTTHOUGHT” feeling that makes me wobble all over the place.
Once I get my morning ablutions out of the way, I like to make some coffee (a dollop of cream/milk/half&half, no sugar) and after a cup or two, I like to do some meditating. Meditating is super new to me, but after reading THE MIRACLE MORNING FOR WRITERS by Hal Elrod, I decided to give it a try, since I have such a hard time focusing in the mornings…or anytime for that matter, really.
I’ve never been much for meditating. In fact, I think it’s a bit of a soft science, but I can’t deny the sense of peacefulness and purpose I find when I just close my eyes, relax and think about the day ahead and what I should probably do.
Ten minutes later, I make myself some breakfast, usually an omelet or a fruity breakfast shake, read for about 10-15 minutes (usually a craft book to help get my mind into the writing groove) and then it’s off to my WIP I go.
—–
So that’s my morning routine. This is basically what happened this morning, minus the meditating because I didn’t feel so out of focus like I usually do. I’ll probably do some meditating later in the day, but for now, I know what I need to do, so it’s all good.
What about you? What is your ritual before you start writing?

What is Fionn doing now?
FYI: I am still working on the 1st draft of DARK MOON RISING, the 4th book in the Blood Martyr series and I apologize for taking so long to come out with the 4th book. But I am writing it right now!
See! Proof! And I know the word count is stupid high right now, over 100k, and I’m only half finished with the first draft, which I guess would make the finished 1st draft 200k.
…
Don’t worry. Even though DARK MOON RISING will easily be the longest Blood Martyr book, it is not going to be 200k. The 3rd book WOLVES AND BRIMSTONE was a little less than 45k (I think), definitely novella length, but DARK MOON RISING will be quite a hefty book…which is good, right? I think DMR will be about 100k, give or take a couple ten thousand words. Hard to say, really.
When I started writing DMR, I made a table, listing down the date, time, location, and word count because I wanted to keep a closer eye on how I wrote at certain times, locations, etc, etc.
As I look back on this graph, I notice that I started writing DMR on June 15, 2015.
Holy moly. That’s more than a year ago. I wrote pretty consistently until the end of July, and then I stopped until October, in which I wrote a couple thousand words. Then I shelved the project until I arrived in Chicago a few weeks ago, upon which I decided that I was sick of having DMR farting around in my WIP folder, unfinished, unloved, unwanted. I bit the proverbial bullet and picked up writing t again about 2 weeks ago.
So…I’ve basically been working on DMR for the past year, on and off, while working on other projects such as THE HANDSOME DEVIL #1 and #2 (currently workin on edits) as well as an erotic historical romance series that I might rerelease under this name, because it’s getting zero hits right now. I’ve also released Asura Night and I’m working on the 2nd book.
TL;DR I am writing. I’ve got so many projects that need to be completed that if I stop to think about it for too long, I start to get panic attacks.
Right now, I really don’t want to work on anything new. All I want to do is finish writing DMR, finish editing THD #2 and finish ASURA NIGHT #2 aka Evolution.
The worst part is, I want to do this all before 2016 ends. 2015 was a bit of a dry year for me, as far as publishing goes, and I want to make sure 2016 isn’t the same.
So…that’s all from me for right now. I hope to finish DMR by the end of this month, and release THD #2 by the middle of August, something that won’t be easy because I’ll be traveling quite a bit then. But then I’ll be going to Korea in September and probably Taiwan in October, so I really can’t let travel stop me from being productive, no matter how crappy I feel.
That said, I did splurge on a new laptop. Well, I say splurge, but what I really did was buy a $119 laptop on Groupon that boasts of a 14 hour battery life. 14 HOURS. GEEEEEZ. It’s an Acer Aspire One 14-inch Cloudbook. It’s the price of a Chromebook, but better because it is a PC and a Chromebook would basically just be an expensive paperweight in China as Google is banned there.
14 HOURS. FOR 100 BUCKS. WTH.
Of course, you can’t really do much on it. Just, oh, listening to music, editing documents, watching Netflix/movies.
Which is exactly what I do anyways. I don’t play games on laptops; I’ve got a desktop for that.
Currently, my laptop is an Asus Zenbook, a few years ago, but the battery is very short and I feel like I’m leashed by the need to be close to an power outlet, something the Cloudbook will free me from.
So…that’ll be something to look forward to. I’ll come back with a review of the product when I get it, which should be within the next few days.
Until then, au revoir and happy reading/writing!

Holy smokes, is it Monday again?
Wow, where did the week go? I posted in my previous entry that I hoped to reach 25k by the time today rolled around. It did not get done. At all. I’m seriously sitting here, blinking at the monitor, wondering what the heck happened. I think I got some writing done…but I remember a lot of sleeping. Some teaching. Some arting. Reading happened quite a bit. I remember writing 2k on some days…but aside from that, everything else is kind of a blur.
I know this week is going to be even crazier. Today and tomorrow, will be fairly light days, but on Wednesday, we’ll be busy going to the Entry/Exit Bureau to pick up our passports, then running a bunch of errands so we can leave early on Thursday morning (5AM). Thursday/Friday, we’ll be traveling. Our flight is supposed to arrive at O’hare around 10AM on Friday, but I’m fairly sure I’ll be pretty useless on Friday. After that, who knows? I do plan on taking part in Camp Nano this July, so it would behoove me to finish Asura Night #2 before July rolls around so I’m not working on two projects at the same time.
I’m really, really, really hoping I can get 10k before Thursday rolls around, but I’m not holding my breath. I’d probably die.
Whelp, I think that’s all for now. I’ll check back in on Wednesday night, hopefully with good news.

Let’s get serious about this week!

Yup, it’s Monday again. Hubby is finally back at work, which means I can do work without feeling like someone’s constantly looking over my shoulder. He never did, but I still couldn’t shake the very rattling feeling that there was someone peeking, going “Nope, nope, nope, just nope.”
My goal for this week is to hit 25k of Asura Night 2, roughly about 35 percent of the book. I also plan on posting on this blog every day, but we’ll see how that goes. Also planning on hitting the gym everyday, whether it’s to weight-train or just go and walk a few miles on the treadmill. Whatever it takes to work off that glass bottle of Double Devon Cream that I got for 84% discount at the local market.
Preparing for a new Box Set
Hi, all! We’re coming up pretty close to a box set release that I am in, and I volunteered to design the website banner as well as Facebook ads for the release. I still need to work on the ads, but the banner is complete, so that’s something I can check off my to-do list.
As far as writing goes, I’m still tinkering away with Asura Night #2. Tinkering would be pretty optimistic, though. I started Asura Night on the 1st of June with the intention of reaching The End by the 30th. If I had followed through with this plan, by now, I should have over 20k to my name. Unfortunately, as of now, I have a little less than 5k to the new book and I have to admit, I am a little bemused/ashamed from my lack of progress. My excuse? Hubby has been on vacation for the past week and we’ve been doing a lot of things together, since usually I tend to ignore him, as he hangs out in the living room and I’m glued to the computer screen. Thankfully, hubby goes back to work tomorrow, so I’m hoping I’ll be able to hit 25k by the 19th. I’d love to finish the first draft by the end of the month, but I will be traveling the end of the month so who knows, haaaa.

DISASTER/FAST DRAFT: ASURA NIGHT #2 – Day 4
Not going so well. According to the numbers, I should be starting off the day with 6k to my name, but I’m afraid I’m just a few hairs short of 3k. Yesterday, I got roped into going blueberry picking, which normally would’ve been a fun activity, but I was super tired from hitting the gym extra hard. And it rained, continously. I did come back home with over 1kg of berries, so the day wasn’t a wash, but I kind of wished I had stayed home and just bought my berries online, BAHAHA.
Right.
that’s all from me for today, since I do have 6k to write, so when I come back tomorrow, I’m hoping it will be with the good news that 6k has been written and I am back on track.
Ciao!

Starting a Fast Draft
Of…ASURA NIGHT #2!
No title, as of yet, but this book, if you’ve read the first book, will be dealing with the aftermath of the collapse of the Hinowa demonfolk infestation in Tokyo.
Also, Emi might be manifesting some powers on her own. Poor girl.
So, I started a fast draft yesterday and as of right now, 7:30 AM, I have 2,036 words in the new book. My goal is to get down 65-75k down for this month. The only issue I see with this is that I will be traveling back to the States in three weeks and I’ll probably lose a few days with traveling, jet lag, etc etc. My goal is to write on the plane and at the airport, but I’ve been on enough flights and at enough airports to know that I’ll be too tired, distracted, annoyed to focus. Still, one can hope, right?
I will be keeping a daily update on the word count of my fast draft in the side widgets, so keep your eyes on the (hopefully) increasing word meter!

Starting a Fast Draft of Asura Night #2 tomorrow
The books I just bought on Amazon:
Fast Fiction: A Guide to Outlining and Writing a First-Draft
Book in a Month: The Fool-Proof System for Writing a Novel
Tick-Tock Plot: How to Speed-Write the Next Blockbuster
From these books, you can surmise that…
I plan on fast-drafting. Fast drafting is a rather interesting concept, in that, you are, well, writing a book rather quickly. In a month actually. So…thirty days, right? A book is around 60 to 80k, so that roughly equals to 2-2.5k a day. That in itself is completely doable, but lately, I’ve been having trouble trying to feel enough motivation to write anything.
So…yeah. My fast draft for Asura Night #2 begins tomorrow and I hope to finish it by the 28th of June. It’ll be interesting because I will be traveling in the middle of my fast draft so maybe I won’t be succesful but I’m hoping that I can finish Asura Night #2 by the end of June.
Luckily, though I think I’m very close to finish the plotting for Asura Night #2. This particular installment will be very visceral. Emi will be faced with more challenges than a normal human being can handle…so it’s a good thing she’s not entirely human.
Or is she?
