POEM - Ruinous Blue
No revenge, because it was honestly
an honor to love you
No revenge, because you gave much
which you can never take back
No revenge, because you weren’t the only one
who got things wrong
No revenge, because you’re an entire block
of my autobiography
No revenge, because no thing of beauty
was built to last forever
No revenge, because I rightfully revel in the fact
that we are not the same
No revenge, because some part of me
always knew what you were
No revenge, because I genuinely needed
what your mess once a...

POEM - Rivendell's Daughter
Unlock the door of your enduring dungeon,
and join me in full view of the dying stars
Join me in the meadows of Middle-earth,
where the clothes may slip from our bodies
like rings from flattering fingers
I wish to taste your wine
until I’m too drunk to wage war
Return to me like a rune stone
Coax that hidden hand out of hiding
Unite our realms beneath the banner
of what communal magic yet persuades
an immortal woman to love a mortal man
And amid a mountain of gold and jewels,
I’ll look to you; my life’s true...

POEM - Some Hard Confucius-Say
Maybe you’re only sad to be who you are
because sad people told you that you should be
Good days don’t come naturally;
you have to serve as a guidepost
You have to believe in your own magic
before the world stands a chance
of following suit
Passion propels
Difficult things are never easy
if you insist on doing them the hard way
So plan for the worst, but
always hope for the best
Live for the experience,
not for what you can keep
Know that the world isn’t small;
it’s just that most of us don’t leave
our born-i...

POEM - Bring an Enemy
I have a confession to make;
it isn’t ideal or genteel,
and I’ve been carrying it
for numerous trips around our star
I am cooked-to-perfection
in lover’s lust with you
Should I say more?
No? Okay
I fall asleep somewhere between
the two of you
I’ve seen the three of us unfold
a thousand ways over
There’s discussion of how difficult
or unwelcome it would be,
before we eventually melt
into a blob of contented bodies;
challenges be damned
Nothing has made more sense to me
than getting sucked by your gravity
I want...

POEM - Forever Sunset
The climate here has changed;
we’re no longer in denial
Too often, we find ourselves
able to do nothing more than hold hands,
and marvel at the devastation
that a change of seasons delivered
It’s been two, ruinous years,
watching the floodwaters rise
as the wind flattens the forest,
and hailstorms break our remaining windows
Entire days pass on occasion
without me finding the will to lift
a single finger against this wreckage
Sleep and dreams, the only reminders
of that easy existence which we
might never ge...
