Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Reviews

The literary/descriptive language... is incredibly well done and is able to draw vivid mental pictures of both the characters and the setting of the story. The characters themselves seem incredibly strong and very interesting- they are dynamic and seem like real people and not just stereotypes. the pace of the plot which seems neither too fast or too slow.

Overall this is a very strong excerpt with interesting plot, characters and wonderful literary imagery/language that is gripping- and has a lot going for it.

This... has a great sense of place and setting with characters that match both. It is a unique feel that also comes across as authentic instead of imaginary, as if the writer knows the people and the places that he/she is describing.

Publisher's Weekly Review

This Southwestern tale of betrayal and death ... a gripping crime drama, insightful views of relationships and friendships

Over the course of the story, Charlie, Johnny, and Aeden become more self-aware and cognizant of their place in the world. The opening chapters detailing Sixto's crime and Charlie's involvement are well paced, and Johnny and Aeden's friendship is presented as a realistic, tight-knit bond between two high school students.

... rich characters and intriguing plot. Publishers Weekly

Horse Hunts

I've decided on a title for the novella. I thought I was ready for publication, but a new character suddenly appeared! It was so obvious I'm surprised I didn't think of it sooner.

Also, beginning to think about a cover design. The cover of "The House of Three Murders" was drawn by Derek Sampson, our granddaughter's husband. He is a wonderful artist.

Novella

I am delighted to see readers from all around the world reading the excerpt I uploaded from "The House of Three Murders: A Smoke Tree Series Novel."Here is a link for that novel at Amazon.

http://amzn.to/1d87rOc

I am currently at work on a novella involving one of the main characters from "The House of Three Murders." His name is Carlos Caballo, but everyone in and around Smoke Tree calls him "Horse."

This will be the second book in the Smoke Tree Series. There will eventually be two novellas and at least four novels in the series. The first novella should be completed and published within two weeks.

Once again, thanks for reading!
