Scripture for the Third Wednesday in Lent
"But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." ~ Matthew 20:26-28
Lord God, Jesus came as a servant and sacrified His life for my sins. He told us that we must serve one another. I don't have to die to others, but I do have to die to sin. Thank You for His great sacrifice, giving me forgiveness of my sins and eternal life...
Scripture for the Second Tuesday in Lent
"The greatest among you shall be your servant. 12 Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted." ~ Matthew 23:11-12
Lord God, I am too much of the world. I want to be the leader, not the servant. But Jesus came among us as a servant, and Your Word tells us we must humble ourselves. Help me to put others before myself, to humble myself as a servant. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.

Scripture for the Second Monday in Lent
"Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you." ~ Luke 6:37-38 (ESV)
Lord, You promise to give wonderful gifts to me if I forgive and give to others. Yet so often I am selfish, judgmental, unforgiving. Teach me to love others as You love me...
A Busy Month in the Book World
March is Small Press Month. Though the Web site is dated 2009, there are some good suggestions on how to celebrate. The purpose of Small Press Month is to recognize the valuable work done by small, independent publishers. My novels, Stroke of Luck and Dream or Destiny, are published by a small press, GASLight Publishing, LLC. Dream or Destiny will be coming out in audio next month from a brand new small audiobook publisher, Always Keepers Press. On Wednesday, I'll be interviewing the owner...

Scripture for the Second Saturday in Lent
"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." ~ Matthew 5:44 (ESV)
Lord, it's easy to love those who love me and who do good to me. But it's so hard to love those who hurt me. Cleanse my heart of hatred and fill it with love for my enemies as well as my friends. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. Amen.
