WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT?

As a writer, I am interested in anything and everything that might spark my imagination. I love heroes. Being a sniveling coward myself, I especially love men and women who are brave, who strive to be the best they can be. Be it physical, mental, emotional. I also love animals, and hate animal cruelty. Many of my books contain animals, some odd and unusual, like a shy hedgehog or a sock stealing squirrel. Some of my animal characters are helpless or handicapped, like orphaned kittens or a three legged dog. And never fear, these creatures always find happy places in my stories. I volunteer for our local Humane Society Thrift Shop, which I helped get going. Being the coward that I am, I can't work in the shelter, because every time I have gone in, I've slunk fearfully home with a dog or cat. My husband, who didn't grow up with pets, has drawn the line at four, so the thrift store is my way of saving little lives while saving my marriage.
I like to laugh. I especially like to inspire laughter in others, so humor is very important to me. I try to find the funny side of situations in my stories, sometimes sliding over the line to slapstick--but, hey, so did Chaplin, Abbot and Costello and the Stooges to namedrop a few. Since what I write are love stories, my hero and heroine, once they have found each other and once their obstacles to true love are surmounted, they get that happily ever after that we are are striving for. (Or, for the grammar police among you--for which we are all striving.)
Yes, romances have been snidely referred to as 'little' books, that many put down as beneath them. However, they have not received my letters from readers who have found great comfort in their time with my books. The doubters and belittlers have not heard the stories of grief or depression that has been lifted from heavy hearts, of those who have been able to laugh, once again, after loss. But I have. So it is my honor to have been, and to continue to be, a part of the little escapes we all need at times in our lives. Romance novels are not the trauma centers of our world, but the amusement parks. Without our little escapes, life would be much more difficult to deal with on a day to day basis. So, to make a very long story short--that's what the hell is the point.

ANOTHER HEAVEN only 99 cents for 5 days!

Starting Aug 3rd, ANOTHER HEAVEN will go on sale for .99 at Amazon at this link: http://goo.gl/jqZFb

And at Barnes and Noble at this link: http://goo.gl/nGaeU

The sale will go through next Wed, Aug 7th.

ANOTHER HEAVEN is truly one of my favorite books, and I feel I've neglected it. Bad me. So for less than the price of a soft drink at your local quickie stop, you can have a WHOLE BOOK (that took me months to write!!!!). Let's figure that if I got paid by the hour for writing it, at 99 cents for the completed manuscript, I'd be getting...uh, one zillionths of a penny per? I'm feeling a little faint. :-)

5 ***** STAR Reader Review: "Wind Shadow by Renee Roszel

Silky Overbridge had moved to Alaska with her husband, Rex, where he ended up leaving her for someone else. Divorced, depressed and just down, her friend Annie pushes her to live again. Going on bike rides, getting a job and finishing her education. Now Annie has them going on the Biked Alaska, a four week bike trip across the state. She learns Rex will also be on it and decides to get him back.

The handsome detective Silky met at the hospital one night, under embarrassing circumstances, is also on the ride. Why is it that she keeps noticing his dark eyes and handsome looks when all she wants is to win Rex back?

Ride up and down the road to romance along the beautiful Alaskan countryside with the characters. Cool springs, beautiful mountains and wild animals. Smell the fresh mountain air and the burn of peddling uphill. Along with the burning passions passing between the characters. Will Silky see what she really needs or will pride blur her view?

5 ***** STAR READER REVIEW:
“No More Mr. Nice by Renee Roszel
Lucas Brand's life didn't start out so well, but now he was a self-made multimillionaire. Business was his mistress. Working on a huge project worth millions, he received the letter calling in a favor from years ago. He could ignore anyone in the world but not Norman Victor Roxbury.

Jessica Glen worked as Mr. Roxbury's assistant, helping with the less fortunate kids in the Mr. Niceguy program. Her boss was in the hospital and needed a replacement Mr. Niceguy for this years Thanksgiving Dinner and week long retreat. Jess disagreed that a man Like Lucas would be the best replacement. But it wasn't up to her.

This was a really good story. Watching the ten kids who were chosen for the retreat as they had fun and enjoyed life for a week without the problems most fourteen year olds should never have to start with. There were also so interesting critters and characters to help make the story complete.

TWO OF MY BOOKS NOW IN E-BOOK FORM

The first:
RITA FINALIST and RT READER’S CHOICE NOMINEE

Brand NEW in E-book form by RENEE ROSZEL

<><><><>VALENTINE’S KNIGHT<><><><>
Was he brave, or just a little crazy?

Valentine Larrabee remembered Quaid Perrault. The last time she saw him he’d been lying in a snowy canyon, bloody and near death after a catastrophic fall from a rotting overhang of ice. No longer the arrogant yuppie, he was subdued, preoccupied. Val found herself wanting to make him smile. What a mistake! The man had a grin that could melt icebergs. She didn’t want a relationship, didn’t deserve one. But Quaid’s kiss made her forget her fatal flaw. Rashly, she offered him one passionate night to deal with their crazy longing…or so she thought.

Maybe Val tamed a few devils by sharing that unforgettable night with Quaid—but it almost destroyed him. Four years before, he had been one of “the hardest of the hard men,” at the top of his game. In spite of that, in his attempt to conquer ‘Death Scream,’ he’d lost it, his concentration, his strength, and nearly his life.

It was damned poor timing to fall in love with a woman battling demons of her own. Demons that would put not only his life—but hers—in jeopardy.

The Second:
Brand New in E-book form by RENEE ROSZEL

======PRINCE OF DELIGHTS======

Angela Meadows loved her hair-brained, interfering mother, but this time she’d gone too far!

When her mother publicly announced that her latest prophetic dream fated Tarrant Seaton, prominent playboy, to be Angela’s husband, the timing couldn’t be more tragic. Angela had just been hired by Delila Seaton to remodel parts of the Seaton mansion as well as the family owned chocolate factory. Though humiliated, Angela would not be driven to quit. Working for the beloved matriarch of Seatonville, Kansas, would help her fledgling business finally get into the black and give her the boost in confidence she so badly needed.

To Tarrant, Angela Meadows was just another conniving gold digger, no matter how wide eyed, innocent, and alluring she seemed. He had to credit her with smarts, after all. She’d sweet-talked his trusting mother into hiring her – and now he’d be tripping over her at home and at work! Well played, little Miss Wolf-in-Sheep’s-Clothing!

Make no mistake, Tarrant Seaton was no babe in the woods when it came to crafty, mercenary females! Even if there was something strangely captivating about this particular female…

Now—it was his move.
