Time travel back to the 80's where a man and his deceased best friend relive parts of their senior year of high school in an attempt to heal from tragedy and guilt born from their misspent adolescence that consisted of partying, drug abuse, way too much alcohol, girls and rock n roll.
Blast from the Past is a fun trip back to a wild decade. The imagery will make those that lived through the 1980s drool with nostalgia. The story will make you laugh and cry, then laugh again. This timeless tale of buddy-love teaches us that life can either inspire you, or kill you. The choice of what happens is truly up to each of us.

Welcome to my blog!
My name’s Jeb Wright and I wrote the book Blast from the Past. The book takes place in the 1980s, which isn’t such a big surprise, as I have been accused of living in the past. Okay… I’m guilty as charged. Oh…I also ran a very popular website for 20 years called Classic Rock Revisited.com that featured interviews with old rock stars. I love hard rock from the 1970s and the early 1980s. I also really love cheeseburgers and the Kansas City Chiefs.
Within my stories: I will make you laugh. I cuss a lot. I get dark, too. There is always some redemption or some failed redemption. There’s a lot of emotion and there’s always a sadness that can never be cured. It all happens between the booze and sex and drug use. Oh, there’s tobacco smoking, as well. I think that’s a thing to be warned about nowadays. My stories feature some people who are messy. They are not perfect. They are just like you and me…well me anyway.
Here is a secret I don’t tell everyone: I was wild back in the ‘80s. It was pretty much out of control. I was a train wreck. Now I am a good boy. I’m just like that old Van Halen Song… “Big Bad Billy’s Sweet William Now.” You get it. So, I write about the past a lot. I make stuff up. I make people up. I borrow some from my past and fictionalize it. Sometimes, like in my book Blast from the Past, there is even a ghost- not a terrifying one, but one that smokes clove cigarettes and is an alcoholic. He’s based on my best friend…who’s dead.
Oops, I forgot to tell you that I live in freaking Kansas. I’ve been married a LONG time to a sweet little angel of a woman…and I have two kids that are MUCH better humans than I will ever be. My favorite song is “Carry On Wayward Son” by the band Kansas. I keep hoping they are correct when they sing, “They’ll be peace when you are done.” So far…no go. But a man can hope.
