La Résistance
Sitting down to her computer she spent time reviewing the weather forecast and there it was, that dreaded four letter word….SNOW! It’s way too early in the year for such an occurrence; she thought. Autumn had barely arrived and now the threat of snow. Feeling anxious, her body stiffened. She was consumed in the mind chatter as it became louder and was on a never ending loop. Suddenly she stopped and asked herself, “what is going on?”. What was this feeling all about, could it be….NO she has done her work and dealt with this issue already, so why was it showing up again? Much to her surprise she uttered one simple word, resistance.
Her intuition told her it wasn’t just about the weather. It’s obvious, she’s lived in the Northeast most of her adult life, winter arrives every year and snow is part of the experience. If she was feeling resistance about the weather; something she has absolutely no control over, then what else in her life was she also resisting? Instantly it became crystal clear. Too often she went to conclusion based on past experiences which immediately blocked anything better from showing up in her life. This was huge awareness. What if she didn’t have this resistance, what would her life be like? Was her life partner just around the corner waiting for her frequency to match his so she could see him? The tidal wave of money she desired, was it there for the taking or the job she yearned, was it just over the horizon? What if it was as simple as making a different choice?
A little overwhelmed she decided to tackle the resistance she was feeling about snow, breaking it down to manageable steps. She made choices everyday, deciding what to wear, what to eat, when to sleep… so she pondered, what would make winter and snow fun? Daydreaming about a snowy day she began to make a list.
She loves to spend time in the kitchen cooking and baking so that went on the list while she salivated over the imagined smell and taste of chocolate chip cookies or pumpkin pie…mmmmm, good! The warmth of the oven would make her feel cozy and peaceful. She also enjoys entertaining, so hosting dinner parties was added. The anticipation of who will be on the guest list was invigorating and maybe she’d even design some theme parties, allowing her creative side to shine brightly. The thought of watching old movies, drinking tea or brandy wrapped in a warm comforter was another activity that made her smile and made the list. Then the thought of taking a winter vacation to a warm tropical island. . . what island, would it be? Hawaii, Greece or the Caribbean and who would accompany her? Looking at the list she noticed a very different feeling in her body. Energized and tingling with the anticipation of the fun things she could plan, the decision to tackle the season enthusiastically became an easy choice to make.
Isn’t it time to give resistance the old heave-ho? Break out of your past habits. Give your life a facelift by putting the emphasis on what excites you and generates great joy, thereby raising your energy to the highest level possible. Become a witness to the synchronicities of life as they unfold. This is living life in the Passion Zone and you deserve it!

The Imaginary Box
Under the illusion of choice and self-direction, we continue to operate within the limitations we have accepted as Truth. Seeing others accomplish greatness, we doubt the potential of our own manifestations. We have boxed in our greatness and it confines us.
Despite the dominating presence of this self-created, life-limiting Box, we have the choice to explore its terrain and the power it yields. The enclosure of the Box delineates our imposed reality, its sides clearly marking what is Inside (safe) and Outside (not safe). For some this Box may be small and restrictive, for others it may be roomy and large. Perhaps we have made this Box comfortable and homey, despite the lack of access to the outside. It is familiar, safe, and limiting – it is still a Box.
Identifying the existence of these sides (our personal limitations) may not be an easy or straightforward task. Perhaps we believe there is no benefit or reward for locating the sides or putting any effort into moving them.
Yet as we mature, we begin to realize that life in the Box remains the same, with few deviations from this norm. While it may have served us well, as our perceptions of who we are change, we may realize the lack of diversity and growth potential. Our ability to discover new experiences exists outside of who we are in the Box. Now that safe and comfortable no longer sustain us …. what is next?
Let’s say those desires guide us to examine the Box more closely. We discover that the sides of our Box are not hermetically sealed as previously presumed. What if – with a little focus and muscle – we were able to push open a side and expose a tiny crack? Could we peer through and see a glimpse of another world, one in which options and possibilities exist?
Even with the awareness of an opening in the Box, we may choose to convince ourselves that it is better to stay put. Our family and friends all inhabit the same Box. Our past, present and future identity are all enclosed as well. Despite the restrictions, we are safe within. But – and here is the problem – once we identify something more, that awareness irrevocably changes our perceptions of the Box.
So with great effort we push out a sidewall, just enough to take a peek. But that only allows us one view. Our curiosity aroused, we wonder. What is on the other side of the Box? What is over the horizon?
Imagine that in another corner of the Box there exists a button. And this button allows the sides to fall, all at once – exposing all views, all possibilities in one small gesture. One simple decision to press and Wow! Expansion! A boundless Universe!
It’s a bold move and one that requires assertion, but the rewards are remarkable!! It’s a choice – press the button and presto! Since you invented the Box, invent its disassembling. Isn’t it time you catapult your life out of your made-up restrictions and into the breadth of your Passion Zone?

The Judgement Zone
You have entered “The Judgement Zone”; its dark, cold, and frightening. The body feels heavy and constricting. What now, how do you get out of the Judgement Zone and into the Passion Zone? The short answer, reside in the space of neutrality detached to any and all outcomes.
Opinions are formed based on experiences. Events, people and things are labeled good/bad and right/wrong. Unraveling the “fictional” beliefs; is paramount to achieving an open-mindedness that supports all possibilities. There was a time in my life when I was so concerned about what other’s thought of me, I tiptoed around everyone and everything, fearful of upsetting the metaphorical apple cart. Looking back, I see how preposterous my actions were, seriously… no one cared! Have you ever spent countless hours worrying about something you said or did only to discover the other person had no recollection of the event? We put ourselves on this merry-go-round with no way to get off. It goes around and around in our head and the end conclusion is always far worse than the reality of the situation.
Living in and with judgement punishes the body in unthinkable ways. As we lock in the beliefs we create undesired results. Judging my body harshly I concluded many years ago that since my Mom was overweight I’d inherit her genes and guess what, I did. I’d look at myself in the mirror and pick apart the things I didn’t like. The words I used were hateful, things I would never say to a friend. I considered myself to be lazy with no will power. Each time I went on a diet I would lose the weight only to gain it back a few months later and always adding a few more pounds to the total. This cycle followed me through most of my life and honestly I am so over it and ready to create a different result. I’ve always been somewhat of a rebel, desiring to live according to my terms, so here me roar as I rail against the rules of what society teaches. I refuse to buy into the lackluster approach of living life. I’m not going on some fad diet or having surgery. Instead I’m unraveling beliefs around my body; releasing the lies and keeping the truths.
It’s a new day and a new attitude; beginning with treating my body like a trusted, loving friend, appreciating it for being a beautiful, amazing vessel that supports life. Developing an intimate relationship asking and listening to what my body desires, while remaining present with keen awareness of all mind chatter releasing attachment to outcomes. This odyssey isn’t about losing pounds or setting weight loss goals. It’s personal…honoring myself, knowing I am a beautiful, passionate, loving, inspiring woman embracing my radiance with Bold Passion.
Life in the Passion Zone is all about fun and excitement. Each one of us has the ability to create the life we truly desire and it doesn’t have to be as complicated as we believe. Unchain yourself, abandon the lies, conclusions and limitations and watch what happens next!
