Introducing Momo!
You’ve met my long-haired cats, Charming and Rogue. Now, meet Momo. Yes, it’s a strange name. My children named her after the character in Avatar. Momo is a little overweight. Everyone thinks she is a mean cat, but I think she’s just moody. When she doesn’t want to be pet, she growls. And she looks evil, so everyone is afraid of her. But for me, when I’m watching television, she comes and lays down next to me on the arm of the chair. She puts one of her arms around me like she is hugging me and rests her head on my shoulder. How can I not love her? She also watches television.

Medieval Monday! First Encounter in Soul of the Wolf by Judith Sterling!
It’s Medieval Monday! Today, I am honored to feature the talented Judith Sterling and the excerpt from Soul of the Wolf.
A Norman loyalist, Lady Jocelyn bristles when ordered to marry Wulfstan, a Saxon sorcerer. She nurses a painful secret and would rather bathe in a cesspit than be pawed by such a man…until her lifelong dream of motherhood rears its head.
A man of magic and mystery, Wulfstan has no time for wedded bliss. He fears that consummating their marriage will bind their souls and wrench his focus from the ancient riddle his dying mother begged him to solve. He’s a lone wolf, salving old wounds with endless work. But Jocelyn stirs him as no woman ever has.
Their attraction is undeniable. Their fates are intertwined. Together, they must face their demons and bring light to a troubled land.
Continuing along with the excerpt –
He fought a grin. “Fear not. You’ve only one more trip on horseback, tomorrow. We’ll leave for Nihtscua immediately following the wedding feast.”
“How far must we ride?”
“Not twenty miles.”
“Lovely,” she said without enthusiasm.
A sudden gust of wind roused the forest. The trees quivered and sighed beneath the purple sky.
“The rain is near,” he said. “Shall we return to the keep?”

Introducing Rogue!
Last week, I introduced you to Charming. Rogue is Charming’s sister. She loves when I pet her, but only when she wants some affection. Rogue’s personality is very much like her name. She is very independent. She doesn’t eat with the rest of the cats. She does things in her time on her own agenda. Even though she bothers me sometimes, because my time is not the same as hers, I love her nonetheless.
Here’s a picture of her watching Sunny the bird.

Continuing along with the excerpt –
Kendrew bowed toward the sister. “‘Tis a relief to be out of the storm. We thank ye.”

Introducing – Charming
I think we could all use a break from the rigors of the week, so I’d like to introduce you to my mischievous, wonderful, loveable boy, Charming. He follows me around during the day. When he squeaks the cutest little meow I have to stop what I’m doing and pet him, or turn the faucet in the bathroom on for him. He is my writing companion, as he sits with me when I’m at the computer, my stress relief and my eternal cat love. I am so grateful that I rescued him from the shelter when he was a kitten.
Meet my baby boy, Charming!

Medieval Monday! First Encounter in The Viking: Bron by Bambi Lynn
It’s Medieval Monday! Today, I am honored to feature the talented Bambi Lynn and the excerpt from The Viking: Bron.
After escaping the brutal tyrant who holds her under his boot, Leda’s newfound hope is shattered to discover her safe-haven to be nothing more than a den of brutal Norsemen, intent on conquering all of Francia and claiming its riches for their own. When she is offered as a bed slave to the fiercest Viking of them all, she despairs to realize freedom comes at a price.
Brondulf Adilson has struck terror into his enemies for as long as he can remember, to include the women who share his bed. Shunned for his frightful appearance, he doesn’t expect compliance from his new thrall and is resigned to forcing her to his will.
But the beauty he finds himself saddle with turns out to be anything but meek and compliant.
Continuing along with the excerpt –
The relief on Wulf’s face was palpable. If not for the predicament he found himself in, Bron would have laughed. Instead he closed the door with a glare and turned to face her.
She stood there in the center of his house, trembling, which both irritated him and melted him at the same time. Irritated because he had done nothing to make her fear him. Melted him because—well, how was he to know why? It just did.
Follow along next week at Jenna Jaxon’s blog . Be sure to comment for a chance to win an e-copy of Bron.

Medieval Monday! First Encounter The Guardian’s Witch by Ruth A. Casie
It’s Medieval Monday! Today, I am honored to feature the wonderful Ruth A. Casie and the excerpt from The Guardian’s Witch.
England, 1290
Lord Alex Stelton can’t resist a challenge, especially one with a prize like this: protect a castle on the Scottish border for a year, and it’s his. Desperate for land of his own, he’ll do anything to win the estate—even enter a proxy marriage to Lady Lisbeth Reynolds, the rumored witch who lives there.
Feared and scorned for her second sight, Lisbeth swore she’d never marry, but she is drawn to the handsome, confident Alex. She sees great love with him but fears what he would think of her gift and her visions of a traitor in their midst.
Despite his own vow never to fall in love, Alex can’t get the alluring Lisbeth out of his mind and is driven to protect her when attacks begin on the border. But as her visions of danger intensify, Lisbeth knows it is she who must protect him. Realizing they’ll secure their future only by facing the threat together, she must choose between keeping her magic a secret and losing the man she loves.
Continuing along with the excerpt –
A gentle knock brought him back to the present. The hinge creaked and a cool breeze danced across his damp face. Thankfully, the pain subsided enough for him to pry open his eyes again. Lisbeth glided silently into the room. Her long brown cloak billowed out around her and gave the eerie appearance she floated on air. Through narrow slits he detected her shadow approach. A fresh scent seeped into the stale room. He sniffed the familiar light evergreen mixed with mint, rosemary and spicy floral scent. Lavender. She handed Ann her small healing kit and cloak. In his dazed state he could still make out the outline of her black mourning dress next to him.

Medieval Monday! First Encounter in The Highlander’s Viking Bride by Cathy & DD MacRae
It’s Medieval Monday! Today, I am honored to feature the talented Cathy & DD MacRae and the excerpt from their novel The Highlander’s Viking Bride.
Calder MacGerry, laird of an impoverished clan, has resolved to end the bitter feud between the MacGerrys and Sinclairs. He jumps at Laird Sinclair’s offer of marriage to his only daughter, Katja, to seal the agreement between their clans—only to get more than he bargained for.
Katja’s chance to escape her father’s harsh treatment appears to be too good to be true. But becoming Lady of a clan that despises her because she’s a Sinclair, doesn’t make her life any easier. When the attacks turn deadly, she fights her way out, making a dangerous passage to the Shetland Isles for refuge with her Viking family.
Calder and Katja’s marriage, built on mistrust, rushes quickly into disaster. As Calder seeks to repair the damage, Katja discovers not another enemy, but a husband who pledges a new beginning.
Continuing along with the excerpt –
Skirting the red auras, Katja moved silently into the room, attracting no attention. Years of avoiding her father gave her the skill to move about the castle like a ghost, finding tremendous value in being invisible when the need called for it. It wasn’t until she stood near the foot of the lower tables that anyone noticed her. Laird Sinclair’s eyes gleamed.
“Ah, here is my daughter. Katja, meet the new MacGerry Laird.”

“What do you want from me?”
Perhaps it was ridiculous, Ryen thought. Men never seemed to have a problem with taking what, or who, they wanted. Maybe I’m making it more complicated than it should be. He is my prisoner.
She raised a hand to touch his thick mane. Bryce pulled back instantly. Ryen wrapped her fingers tightly in his hair, leaning into his strong chest. “You fear my touch?” she wondered in a soft whisper.
“Loathe is more like it,” he said.
She could feel the lie through his leggings and smiled. “Your body betrays you.”
“Step away from me, witch,” he snarled.
Ryen stood on the tips of her toes and pressed her lips against his. At first they were immovable, but suddenly they parted and the hot passion he was trying to hide was released. His tongue slipped into her mouth, warring with hers.
