Investigating the Four Types of Serial Killers
Emily Stone is up against a ruthless, diabolical and somewhat eccentric serial killer in my new novel Dead Game. This serial killer "Samuel" uses his unique signature as a "voyeuristic" serial killer to commit his crimes. I would consider "Samuel" to be a "power and control" and perhaps a bit of "hedonistic" type of serial killer according to the four basic types of serial killers that have been identified from their specific motivations for killing."Serial killer" is defined by the act of tw...

Genius Serial Killer Defends Himself in Trial for His Life
There is no escaping the fact that my home state of California seems to have more than its fair share of residents who have earned the term "serial killer" to precede their names. Yet another one of our accused murderers found himself back in a courtroom earlier this week, this time defending himself against charges that he has faced twice before.Rodney Alcala is a former death row inmate who has been found guilty in two separate trials of killing 12-year-old Robin Samsoe back in 1979. In bot...

Chase Gives Excellent Second Novel to Thriller Readers!
By Glenda A Bixler "Glenda
***** (5 Star review)
I was pleased to receive the notice in the mail from Jennifer Chase that her second book, Dead Game , had been published! Having read her first Emily Stone novel, Compulsion , I was immediately involved with the main character. But her second book, Dead Game , shows not only Chase's growing expertise as a serious writer, but by partnering Emily with a wonderful male lead/romantic interest, Rick Lopez, she has expanded the potential for a series that...

Emily's Crime Watch – Tip #14 (Stalking)
In my novels Compulsion and Dead Game, Emily Stone relentlessly searches down the bad guys. You could say that she is stalking them in order to bring them to justice. But what does stalking really mean?
The definition of stalking is the act of following prey stealthily.
Stalking is caused by a chronic obsessive personality. Anyone can become a victim or a stalker. It has been estimated that one out of every twelve women will be a victim of a stalker at some point in their lives.
What happens whe...

Juvenile Sex Offenders Rarely Continue Their Crimes as Adults
When my busy schedule allows it, I love to take the time to read through some of the blogs that feature posts about forensic psychology. All of you know that this field of study is fascinating to me and there is always a new study being released or, unfortunately, a criminal in the news to make my learning process an ongoing one.One of the outstanding blogs that I like to frequent is In the News, which is written by forensic psychologist and Northern California resident Karen Franklin. Ms. Fr...

My Writing Inspiration for the Opening Fog Sequence of Dead Game
One of my favorite ways to take a break from writing is to go the beach. It doesn't matter the time of the year because the subtle seasonal changes make the coastline almost a magical place for me. I actually prefer the off season because it makes you feel like it's your own private beach.I have a couple of tucked away beach spots that I frequent at least once a week. It's amazing for me to feel the cool sea air in my lungs. I immediately begin to feel more relaxed and centered. Any problems...

Serial Killer Profile – An Inside Look at "The Iceman"
When Richard Kulinski was asked how he felt about killing people in an in-depth interview. He only had this to say.
"I don't. It doesn't bother me. It doesn't bother me at all..."
In one interview, he explained his killing code of ethics.
"I would never kill a child and most likely wouldn't kill a woman."
When you think of serial killers you don't immediately think of confessions from a mafia hit man. However, they are serial killers and each of them has a story to tell that begins to sound quit...
