Right now, I'm in Branson.
It is COLD outside. Really, really cold. I haven't gone outside in two days because it's too cold. I am afraid of this much snow.
BUT, I'm on a writer's retreat, which means right now I'm watching Carrie Ryan and Jenny Moss discuss a short story, Saundra Mitchell make bread (OMG IT'S SO GOOD), Natalie Standiford work on her WIP, and Beth Revis pretend to work on her sequel revisions but secretly updating facebook. I CAN SEE YOU, BETH. This house is beautiful and the view is amazing and everything is delightful.
By the way, total promo moment– every night at 8pm EST we're doing liveshows featuring 4-5 of the authors. The authors are usually a secret, but TONIGHT we're letting it slip that Carrie Ryan will be reading from THE DARK AND HOLLOW PLACES, the final book in her trilogy, to celebrate the paperback release of THE DEAD-TOSSED WAVES, which comes out tomorrow.
I'm working on a short story for an anthology that I'm excited about, but it's going slower than I'd like. I think I need to go lock myself away somewhere for a few hours, since I keep getting distracted by all the people and food and conversation. It's a faery story, and the first time I've done a short story that's totally separate from my novels (the short story that's coming out in the ENTHRALLED anthology this fall is set in the AS YOU WISH world), so I'm having a slow time of it.
No, that's a lie. It's a story I really like and I'm not writing it because I'm being lazy/distracted. Stop making excuses, Jackson. *smacks self*
I have to do a video tomorrow– obviously it'll be set here since. Anything specific you want to see?
