Book to Boogie: “A Greyhound, a Groundhog”
Book to Boogie is a monthly series that pairs picture books with dance and movement activities for preschool story time. The series is curated by Kerry Aradhya of Picture Books & Pirouettes and written by a different guest writer each month. We hope that children’s librarians, as well as classroom teachers and dance educators, will find these activities useful and fun!

Kids’ Art Salon at Pasadena Central Library: Kente Cloth
The Program
by Marie Plug
Leela Perea and I are colleagues in Youth Services at Pasadena Central Library. We are both passionate about art, libraries and working with children. Since March 2015, we have shared our love of art with over 200 children.
Kids’ Art Salon is a quarterly art/art history pro...

The Gentle Art of World Domination: Art, Occupational Therapy, and Libraries

Matt’s visit with a class of new Occupational Therapy students demonstrates how, by bringing hands-on, participatory activities in place of a “traditional” library lecture, library staff can help students think about their studies in new ways.
