@mikedawwwson‘s graphic narrative reflects on how phrases like being on “the wrong side of history” miss the point on gun control activism today.

Longstreet Farm

A comic about the animals we eat, and how to think of ourselves in relation to them.

This comic is brutal and beautiful, truly examining the roots of irrational justifications for consuming animals.

Have a Think. — The Nib

Have a Think. — The Nib:

“Longstreet Farm” gets a shout-out at The Nib newsletter as one of six comics published in 2015 worth a second look.

I drew a bunch of comics for The Nib when they were a going concern. It was such a great outlet for me, I really miss it. I am pretty sure if they hadn’t had to downsize, I would have at this point in time written and drawn at least three or four more original strips than I have at the current moment. I tell myself, it makes sense that I haven’t completed a new comic for a little while, I had to run the Kickstarter, and since then I’ve had to put the new book together, but boy, having the Nib around really was a kick in the pants to get something made. There were a lot of people reading my work, they paid me a little money, they helped me work out what ideas were viable. It was really great, but always felt a little too good to be true. I hope Matt and the other great editors I worked with there do figure out a way to bring a version of The Nib back to life. I’m perilously close to finishing up work on my book, and I imagine will be expecting to start drawing proper comics again soon.

SOFIA THE FIRST - Disney’s Sofia the First wants to teach little girls how to be a “good princess”. Maybe they should learn that it would be good to have no princesses at all.
