It's All About the Music
Whenever I write, I need noise. The source doesn’t matter. For all I care it could come from my neighbors yelling outside. When I was in college, I used to do homework with a pair of headphones in and the TV on. And magically when my roommate came to ask me how to make my signature popcorn dish (she called it JAQ-corn), I understood exactly what she was saying.
I wrote MUTINY in a similar way - with headphones in and sometimes with the TV on. There are many scenes in that book where I had to reflect back on physically stressful times - extreme workouts, wandering around in a foreign country, nearly drowning. And again, I had no problem digging up memories while heavy metal blasted in my ear and TV commercials played in the background.
One day while I was writing, my ipod died and I wasn’t in a spot where I could quickly charge it. So I continued writing in absolute silence, thinking it wouldn’t make a difference. Wrong. I had extreme trouble finishing my fight scenes. And I learned that my ability to add ‘feeling’ somewhat comes from the music I listen to.
I know a lot of writers who write with music. Some authors even include book tracks (something I'm currently working on too). I think I need music to write for the same reason I needed it before every swim meet in high school. It helps me get in touch with emotions that don’t ‘come until they’re called’. In order to make a reader feel what my main character feels, it helps if I as the writer feel some of those feelings as I write.
I’ve heard of authors crying as they write an especially sad scene, or getting mad or frustrated with a certain character. I used to think that’s a little odd. I don’t think that anymore.
[JAQ-corn: Basically hand-popped popcorn with butter and salt. Sprinkle with M&M’s (skittles if you want to get creative). Pour melted caramel as needed (optional).]

Dancing Naked in Dixie Tour Stop and Giveaway

DNID – EXCERPT # 3
The Best Butts in Alabama, the huge billboard above my head brags. A robust pink pig, dressed in blue overalls and a cowboy hat, winks down at me. Next to the hog’s turned up nose, royal blue letters read ‘Phil’s Bar-B-Q.’ Phil certainly knows how to make a first impression. As does Mother Nature. The sunshine beats down on my shoulder through the window. Is it always this muggy in December? I swipe at my forehead with the back of my hand and do quick surveillance. Where is the historic, elegant city I was promised in the letter? There is a normal-looking church across the street, a run-of-the-mill real estate business to my right, and a tiny hole-in-the-wall place called The Donut King, which seems to be doing ten times more business than the Winn-Dixie grocery store I just passed. So far, all I see of Eufaula, Alabama is more in-your-face commercial than traveler chic. Of course, I’m not in the best frame of mind to become one with my surroundings. After a lousy Thursday morning of sulking and a rushed packing job, I sent an RSVP with regrets for the fundraiser, gave away my tickets to the Met, left a voice mail for Andrew, and changed my ticket to an earlier departure. Hours later, after fighting through JFK security, surviving the cramped flight to Atlanta, I spent the night in Buckhead, Georgia, picked up my enormous rented SUV this morning (it was either that or a red minivan), and began driving the three-and-a-half hours to reach my pinhole-on-a-map destination. All to save my job.

Travel writer Julia Sullivan lives life in fast-forward. She jet sets to Europe and the Caribbean with barely a moment to blink or sleep.
But too many mishaps and missed deadlines have Julia on the verge of being fired. With a stern warning, and unemployment looming, she's offered one last chance to rescue her career.
Julia embarks on an unlikely journey to the ‘Heart of Dixie’—Eufaula, Alabama—home to magnificent mansions, sweet tea, and the annual Pilgrimage.
Julia arrives, soon charmed by the lovely city and her handsome host, but her stay is marred by a shocking discovery.
Can Julia's story save her career, Eufaula, and the annual Pilgrimage?

Did you know…? Some differences between the United States and Canada
Even though Canada, the setting for my latest book, Deadly Addiction, is often called “the Northern United States,” American readers may find surprising the many differences between the two countries. It’s not just all about the accent, eh? Here are some that I learned while researching this book.
Money

In Canada, the government stopped making one-dollar and two-dollar bills, and recently killed off the penny as well. Instead, Canadians use one-dollar coins, called “loonies,” which were named for the loons (a duck-like bird) on the front. Two-dollar coins, which have polar bears on them, are called “toonies.”

In Québec, there are three levels of policing: the municipal police, for example, the Montréal Police Service; the provincial police, the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), which is similar in concept to the US state patrol forces; and the federal police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, aka the Mounties.
In Québec, a police officer can NOT carry a weapon, unless they are in uniform, or unless they have a permit to carry. This permit, which must be requested, is not automatically granted to police officers.
In Québec, a police officer can NOT carry mace or pepper spray, unless they are in uniform. There is one exception: anyone can carry bear repellent if they can prove that there is a viable reason, something hard to prove if you live in the city!

Alyssa, the heroine of Deadly Addiction, is a sergeant with the provincial police (Sûreté du Québec), and Rémi, the hero, has worked at the municipal level with the Montréal Police Services before leaving that job to work on the reserve.

In Canada, the indigenous people are not called “Native Americans.” Instead they’re known as “First Nations people,” “natives,” or “aboriginals.” Likewise, instead of “reservations,” in Canada they’re known as “reserves.” The term that native people typically use for reserves is “First Nation”; therefore, in Deadly Addiction, the reserve is called the “Blackriver First Nation.” Additionally, instead of “tribe,” the commonly used term is “band.”
In Canada, the Indian Act (passed in 1876) governs who is officially a native and who is not. Whereas most native tribes are matrilineal, until recently, the Canadian government considered only whether the father is native in determining a person’s status.
Therefore, two people who are fifty-percent or more native could have different statuses depending on their parentage. For example, if a native woman married a whFortunately, with the introduction of amendments to the Indian Act (Bill C-31 in 1985 and Bill C-3 in 2011) many women (and their children) who’d lost their status through marriage to non-natives were able to regain their status. However, many more are still fighting for recognition of their status as native people.
Despite the Indian Act, a person’s membership in a particular band might be determined differently if the band has established its own membership rules. However, these rules can often be more restrictive, a problem that Rémi Whitedeer, the hero of Deadly Addiction, bumps up against. For example, of the bands who have rules, many of them specify that you must have at least two grandparents who are band members or full-status natives.

Deadly Vices Book Two
By Kristine Cayne
A proud people. A nation divided.
Rémi Whitedeer, police officer turned substance-abuse counselor, dreams of restoring order to his tribe. Violence and crime are rampant throughout the unpoliced Iroquois reserve, and a civil war is brewing between the Guardians, a militant traditionalist group, and other tribal factions. As the mixed-race cousin of the Guardians’ leader, Rémi is caught in a no-man’s land—several groups lay claim to him, but all want him to deny his white blood.
A maverick cop on an anti-drug crusade.
When she infiltrated the Vipers to take down the leader of the outlaw biker gang responsible for her brother’s death, police sergeant Alyssa Morgan got her man. But her superiors think she went too far. Her disregard for protocol and her ends-justify-the-means ethics have branded her an unreliable maverick. To salvage her career, she accepts an assignment to set up a squad of native provincial officers on a reserve.
A radical sovereigntist bent on freeing a nation.
Decades of government oppression threaten the existence of the Iroquois Nation. But one man, Chaz Whitedeer, is determined to save his people no matter what the price, even if it means delving into the shadowy world of organized crime. When Rémi and Alyssa uncover the Guardians’ drug-fueled scheme to fund their fight for true autonomy—a scheme involving the Vipers—Rémi must choose between loyalty to family and tribe or his growing love for Alyssa. Can Rémi and Alyssa leave everything behind—even their very identities—for a future together?

Dreams Come True Tour Stop

Playlists and finding inspiration in music.
Firstly can I say hi to the wonderful people at Fang-Tastic books. It’s a pleasure to be on your blog today and to kick off my tour with Bewitching Book Tours.
I would love to share with you the inspiration of music in my writing. Many authors these days have playlists. Something that plays when you’re writing, I know I have MANY playlists; I even have a folder on my laptop just for songs that I listen to when I write.
The songs can be very different in their styles and vary from classical right through to heavy metal. However each one inspires me differently. I have songs for each of my characters, for different locations and for the different moods in my work.
I have always been very musical myself, from fronting a band when I was 18 (we even have our own CD!) to now when I still sing and often toy with the idea of auditioning for one of the very many talent shows that are on the TV. I think this helps when I set up a playlists for my current works.
Here is a selection from my playlist for Dreams Come True …
· Sam’s theme - Be Like That (3 Doors Down) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHpMtWtgUvc
· Tyler’s theme - I Wasn’t Prepared For You (Eisley) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAfsHPqsX2E
· Ally’s theme - This Fire Burns (Killswitch Engage) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xlm4z7LFPy4
· Equinox theme - Where Is My Mind (Yoav feat. Emily Browning) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZEw2khWfg0&feature=fvst
· Music for Ally’s home - The Only Hope For Me Is You (My Chemical Romance) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lOarhuKrDq8
· Sam & Tyler - Teenage Dream (Katie Perry) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98WtmW-lfeE&ob=av3e
· Tyler & Ally - Against All Odds (Phil Collins) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWSQS06i7-wAs you can see the music varies greatly. However the theme of love and hope is found in many of the songs. Why not check them out and see if they bring a different meaning to you.
I would also like to offer one reader a PDF copy of Dreams Come True.
Let me know what you think of the above playlist, what song is your favourite and email Kate from http://read2review.com on kate@read2review.com as she is currently handling all my promotions.

Seven Point Eight Book Blitz

Be prepared for a journey, an expedition that draws together fringe science, psychic powers, alternate dimensions, time travel, past lives, miracles, folklore, consciousness, conspiracy and nostalgia, in a soap opera for the soul. Welcome to the new paranormal/science fiction series entitled ‘Seven Point Eight’.
Crossing genres and gender appeal, it blends character driven plot with an intriguing story line, full of geeky science underpinning a thrilling and clever plot.
‘Seven Point Eight is a twist of scifi confusion that asks some interesting questions. If one had special abilities to travel out of body, what would one do with them? What would the government do with it if they could? How far could one go?’Kindle Book Review
‘every page is chock-a-block full of quantum theory, wildly idiosyncratic characters, out-of-body experiences, weird occurrences, and loose ends, all of which are tied together with a fanciful yet plausible conception of the grand unifying theory underlying the world around us. Oh yeah, and there's some sex, drugs, and rock-and-roll thrown in for kicks’.Jill-Elizabeth.com
Written in the style of a TV series, ‘Seven Point Eight’ interweaves the human dramas of love, betrayal, bitterness and above all, courage in a world where everyone must face their own dark shadow. Plus, it asks some pretty existential questions regarding the meaning of our lives and destiny, our karma and dharma, and last but not least, God and the universe.
This plays out through the lives of five key characters:· Tahra – the smart, provocative and psychically talented new recruit.· Paul - the boundary-breaking physicist.· Max - the enigmatic businessman with military connections.· Ava - the intelligent geneticist, bewildered by her surreal experiences.· Sam - the bitter artist/musician who, together with Ava, seeks answers to a shrouded past.
‘Seven Point Eight: The First Chronicle’ lays the groundwork, and sweeps through the 40s, 50s and 60s to modern day in a wild nostalgic, scientific, paranormal ride. The physicist, Paul, begins a quest to measure the soul but soon founds himself swept into Max’s world, where research is sold to the military at the highest bid. When the talented psychic, Tahra, walks into his life, they soon embark on a ground-breaking project designed to stretch the frontiers of exploration, only to make a reality shattering discovery….
"Captivating and intelligently written - definitely could appeal to fans of Star Trek, Star Wars, Dan Brown books, fans of the Jodie Foster film 'Contact' and anyone who loves X-Men"Dream Reads
'an enthralling read from start to finish... this book has real originality and portrays an intricate journey... an intriguing and mind-bending journey that leaves the reader asking themselves huge life questions.'BookStackReviews.com
‘Seven Point Eight: The First Chronicle’ is available on Kindle at a special promotional price of 99 cents.
The next book in the series, ‘Seven Point Eight: The Second Chronicle’ is due for release this summer.

The First ChronicleBy Marie Harbon
Genre: Sci fi fantasy
Book Description
Seven Point Eight
The most powerful number in the universe
The number that connects everything.
It is time to wake up....
A physicist begins a quest to measure the soul but soon finds himself drawn into the world of the enigmatic Max Richardson, where research is sold to the military at the highest bid. However, he soon discovers another purpose when an extremely talented young psychic enters his life. He devises a project and builds a team to stretch the frontiers of exploration, only to make a reality-shattering discovery...
Written in the style of a TV series, The First Chronicle is the beginning of a 5 part epic which follows the spiritual and emotional journey of five people; their quest to understand the universe and our place within it.
Quantum physics meets spirituality in a tale which begins in the 1940s, unfolds during the 1960s; an era of social and spiritual transformation and reaches its conclusion in the modern age.
It interweaves the human dramas of love, betrayal, bitterness and above all, courage in a world where everyone must face their own dark shadow.
For fans of the paranormal, big sweeping epics, metaphysics, science fiction, Lost, Fringe, contemporary fantasy, alternate realities and new age/spirituality.
It's also highly suited to Young Adult readers, who like sci-fi along with their paranormal, or those who like a more challenging read.

Tour Intro and Giveaway with Hannah Clark

I just thought I’d kick off the tour by telling you all a little bit about my journey of becoming a writer. For those of you who’ve read my bio, you know that I’m dyslexic. Writing, for me, has been a journey of overcoming some huge fears and major adversity—something me and my main character, Norah Lukens have in common. Funny enough, in spite of my dyslexia, I can’t remember a time in my life, when I didn’t want to be a writer. Sure, reading and writing were super hard for me, and I couldn’t spell worth a darn, but something in me craved stories, and something even stronger—an extremely active imagination—needed to tell stories.
So, with the encouragement of an amazing mother, a super brilliant big sister willing to believe in me, and an inspired 4th grade teacher, I kept on writing, even though few people could read what I wrote, and many, many people made it very clear that they thought I’d never make it.
Fast forward about 8 years and I graduated from High School with honors and a scholarship in English Studies at Utah Valley University. By my Sophomore year of college, the first inklings of Cobbogothhad been conceived, and in 2006 after graduating with my Bachelors in English, I started writing my very first novel.
It took me six-and-a-half years to write, polish, and publish Cobbogoth, but I learned something very important, and it is this: No one can tell you that you can or can’t do something, except for you.
I hope you’ll l all take a chance on Cobbogoth. Finishing it was a huge victory for me, and nothing would make me happier than to know it was out there inspiring others to face their own fears.
Cheers!

Book Blurb:
To seventeen-year-old Norah Lukens, the Cobbogothians were just a myth. But after her archeologist uncle's brutal murder, and being asked to translate one of his old research journals for evidence, she begins a journey to discover the truth for herself.
Chasing the myth her uncle was obsessed with, Norah learns that his murder was a cover up for something far more sinister. If she hopes to save others from suffering the same fate he did--including the peculiarly magnetic James Riley--she must head to Iceland in order to find out the truth once and for all. If she succeeds, she'll gain the one thing she's always longed for. But if she fails, not even the gods can help her.

Hannah L. Clark was raised in the very small town of Oak City, UT with seven sisters and one brother. She spent most of her childhood daydreaming, writing stories, building forts, chasing after boys, and working really hard to earn money. (With six older sisters, her parents were really poor by the time she came along.)
In spite of great learning difficulty brought on by dyslexia, Hannah graduated from high school with honors and was awarded a scholarship in English to Utah Valley University. In 2006 she graduated from UVU with her Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and immediately began two of her most exciting adventures yet: Motherhood and writing her first novel.
Five and a half years later, Hannah completed Cobbogoth, a Young Adult Fantasy-Adventure novel, and book one in a seven book series.
She currently lives in Pleasant Grove, Utah with her husband Michael, and their son. Hannah actively seeks to inspire kids and adults by speaking about her experiences of becoming an author in spite of dyslexia.
Hannah still daydreams, writes stories, builds forts, chases after her boys, and works really hard to earn money.

The Importance of a Series Bible
Hi, everyone! Firstly, I'd like to thank Roxanne for having me over here today. :)
I have a new book coming out from Samhain Publishing in a few days. It's an urban fantasy novel called A Patch of Darkness. It also happens to be my first Sierra Fox book. I knew that Sierra's story would become a series pretty early on.
At first, I wasn't sure how many books it would take to tell her story but I knew that in order to keep everything straight in my head, I needed a place to keep all of the relevant information. There's just too much to remember. Starting with something as detailed as the different types of spirits that inhabit her world, to something as simple as the colour of her eyes. Putting all the pieces together in the one place even helped me figure out how many books it would take to tell her story.
The Sierra Fox Series Bible became a place where I could list anything and everything about the characters, each book plot, subplots, character pics, creatures, locations, etc. I knew that if I didn't write everything down, I might run the risk of forgetting something important in future books. And then ruin the continuity of the series. I even designed the suburb, named places, and designed her house--both inside and out. It was a lot of fun, but very time consuming. Still, it's definitely something I'm very glad I started, because I've already looked things up several times. :)
Plus, there's still plenty of room in the notebook to add more stuff. I love it!
When you add real life, other stories, reading, and everything else that gets jammed into my brain on a daily basis, a series bible is essential!
Thanks for reading,Yolanda
All it takes is one weak seam for everything to fall apart.
Sierra Fox, Book 1
In a perfect world, Sierra Fox would have stayed away from the Council she left years ago. But in this world—where spirits have the right to walk among the living—it’s her job to round up troublesome spooks and bring them before that very same Council.
Though her desk is piled high with open cases, she can’t resist an anonymous summons to a mysterious late-night meeting with a bunch of other hunters, each of whom seems to have a unique specialty. The news is dire: something is tearing at the fabric of the universe. If the hunters can’t find who or why in time, something’s going to give in a very messy way.
As current cases, family secrets, new clues and her tangled love life slowly wind themselves into an impossible knot, Sierra finds herself the target of a power-sucking duo intent on stealing her mojo. And realizing she holds the key to the last hope of sealing the widening rift.
Warning: Spook catching: may contain traces of ectoplasm and otherworldly nasties. Not recommended for those with allergies to ghosts, demons, and with boyfriends who think your power is theirs. While reading, avoid dark patches and stay to the light.
A PATCH OF DARKNESS will be available from Samhain Publishing on May 15.

Hi, everyone! Firstly, I'd like to thank Roxanne for having me over here today. :)

The Masks of Venice - Traditional Guest Blog and Giveaway with Tonya Macalino

Hidden identities, secret intrigues, shadowy assignations.
Venice, once the golden seat for the conspiracies of an Adriatic empire, slowly declined into the European center of debauchery for generations of disillusioned wastrels flaunting the strictures of the world beyond its waters. By the time Alyse Kate Bryant steps into the island’s ruins in FACES IN THE WATER, Venicehas little more left than the legends of what she once was. But those legends grow restless and unwitting accomplices breathe life into those ruthless, hungry elemental powers ready to live again.
Hidden identities, secret intrigues, shadowy assignations.
The masks of Venicehave become a symbol of the city, a metaphor for her once darkly glittering splendor. Although associated with Carnival, Venetians clung to their masks, not just for that wild celebration, but to cast a veil of mystery over any number of machinations from gambling to dabbling with nuns to courting across class boundaries.
The traditional masks enter the history books in the 13thcentury as a cover for young men tossing perfume or rose water-filled eggs at ladies—something that had to be prohibited by law. As anything with such a long history, the masks have taken on symbolic traditions of their own.

The Bauta
Possibly derived from the Veneto-Italian bogey man the “bau-bao” (although there are other theories), the traditional Bauta was a white full-coverage mask with a protruding lower half for ease of eating and drinking. It was typically worn by both genders with a tricorne hat and a black cloak.

Known also as the Mute Maid Servant, the Moretta “Dark” mask was an oval mask of black velvet with eye holes, but no mouth, worn with a wide brimmed hat and/or a veil. The “silent” aspect arose from the fact that the wearer held the mask to her face by grasping a button between her teeth. The mask was often used by upper class women visiting convents.

The Gnaga comprised of a small mask sometimes mimicking a woman’s features coupled with women’s dress and was most popularly used by young men seeking homosexual encounters. Some claim the name comes from the term “gnao” comparing the exaggerated falsettos employed with the costume to a cat’s meow.

This was the mask favored by those men with their egg-launching slingshots. It is a clown-like mask and the costume generally included a pouch for carrying said eggs.

The most typical Venetian mask, the “Larva” name may derive from the Latin for ghost. Volto simply means “face.” Originally, a partial mask, it now refers to the ubiquitous full-coverage mask.

The Plague Doctor mask is a costume derived from the original sanitary mask of the plague doctors developed by Charles de Lorme in the 17thcentury. The original masks had crystal disks in the eye holes as well, causing them to look like they sported spectacles. The costume version usually includes the long black cloak and hat and the white stick used for handling patients.
Masks of the Commedia Dell’arte
Commedia Dell’arte contributed heavily to the look of Carnival, contributing the masks of its stock characters to the cast of revelers. Look for a guest post later in my blog tour to cover these masks. (Refer to my website at www.tonyamacalino.com/page3.phpon May 30th for the link.)
Thanks so much for the opportunity to drop by! If after reading all that, you feel the need for a Venetian fix, drop by Amazon or Barnes & Noble for a copy of FACES IN THE WATER and follow Alyse as she enters the magic and the mystery of the City of Masks.

Who created that slide of silk across your skin as you reached for your cinematic lover? Who recorded the crushing weight of the grizzly as you fought for your life in the fictional wilderness? It is Lone Pine Pictures’ Alyse Kate Bryant who wraps your body in the story only your mind was privy to before.
A brilliant sensory immersion artist and a wild daredevil, Alyse will do almost anything for the perfect sensory file, but the violent death of her father has her teetering on the very edge of reckless sanity.
For just one night, Alyse seeks refuge in the arms of a beautiful stranger.
And her recklessness finally has consequences.
Now Alyse finds herself trapped in the flooded ruins of Venice, a quarantine camp for the carriers of Sleepers’ Syndrome. But it can never be that simple. Because the Sleepers’ Syndrome carriers who populate the camp are no longer as human as they seem.
The city of legend is bringing its legends back to life.
They come now, Alyse.
Run.

Guest Blog and Blood Lust Rising Giveaway with Fayth Devlin

World building - Mixing Fact with FictionBy Fayth Devlin
For me one of the key ingredients to writing a paranormal romance story (aside from the actual romance and the sexy naked time) is world building. You want to write about vampires, shape shifters, fairies... well how in the hell do you explain them into existence? Furthermore, how does the outside world react to these (often sexy as sin) non-human men and woman walking amongst them?
Having your supernatural characters make sense in whatever setting you've chosen is probably my least favorite aspect of writing!! LOL. But, it is a necessary evil.

There are tons and tons of research material out there on Vlad the Impaler, and all of it was wonderful, but, none of fit for my book. So, what's a girl to do? Weave in some fiction to make it work for my budding universe where vampires with electric blue eyes prey on the innocent.

As the book progressed, I found more and more details dependant on Ms. Tepes. The council of seven she sired, which then later inspired the "good guys" to create their own agency to protect humanity. Without Lizbeth, Julian, a sexy vampire whose greed and tenacity to become King knows no bounds, would have never been created. One step at a time, I created my world based on something simple, something from history.
After I nailed down my foundation, things fell into place and my novel, much like Lizbeth Tepes, was born. In closing, I have a questions for both authors and readers.
Authors, can you share on how you create your mythological worlds? Do you weave in history or do you fly by the seat of your pants?
Readers, do you find comfort in seeing small historical details in novels? Does it make the story more believable to you?
Today I'll be giving away an electronic copy of
my debut novel, Blood Lust Rising - Book One
in the Vampire Queen Trilogy, to one lucky
commenter. So, let the discussion begin!!

Title: Blood Lust Rising - The Vampire Queen Trilogy Book One
Blurb: Vampire Queen and Demon son – Together they will wreak havoc and total destruction. Or at least, that’s what the prophecy says. When a sex-seething succubus focuses in on Ella Grey, a half-breed vampire and her Shadow Hunting partner, Micah McGregor, a power is released neither can control or comprehend.
A chain of events is triggered, forcing Ella and Micah down a shadowed path riddled with unrestrained passion, violence and betrayal. The truth of Micah’s demonic origins will reveal a heart-breaking conspiracy within the Shadow Agency that once swore to protect humanity from vampires and demons. Ella and Micah are proof that nothing is as it appears.

Guest Blog and Giveaway with Quinn Loftis

Jen's letter from Decebel
This is a letter that Decebel wrote to Jen the night they decided to see where their relationship and the feelings they have will go. It's the same night he tells her his wolf has claimed her.
My love,
I know I could have probably been a little more suave about how I announced my intentions towards you. Words have never been my forte'. However, I'm going to attempt as best I can to tell you what you, in the short time I've known you, have come to mean to me. No laughing allowed. The first moment I realized that you were going to be important to me was when I saw your still form lying on the side of the road next to the burning vehicle. You weren't moving. In that moment I don't think I had ever felt such fear. I knew then you mattered. I wasn't exactly sure in what way, or capacity, but I knew you mattered to me.During your time in the hospital my wolf grew more and more attached to you and so did I. Every day I looked forward to seeing you. I even looked forward to hearing whatever smart remark you would throw my way. When I was with you it was so hard not to just stare. I tried to memorize your face, your expressions, the sound of your voice, your scent so that I could recall them when we were apart. When I found out that you were a potential mate to my kind two things happened. The first my wolf howled in triumph, he was convinced that you were ours. The second was complete and utter fear. As I've told you I know what it is to lose someone that I love, to be unable to protect someone who relies on you, to be completely helpless in the outcome of their fate. I ran from you, from us. That is why I was gone for those months. Now, here around all these others, the idea of losing you is unacceptable to me and unbearable. There is something in me that just clicks into place when you are around. You bring my wolf peace and you fill my darkness with light. Tonight I told you that I wanted you Jennifer. The real meaning behind those words was I love you. I love you. You are mine and I am yours. I will always protect you, care for you and provide for you. There is nothing or no one who will keep you from me. Thank you baby, for being my light. For bringing me hope and accepting me as I am.
Forever yours,Decebel

Book 3 in the Grey Wolves Series By Quinn Loftis
Jennifer Adams, best friend to Jacque Pierce and Sally Morgan, spicy, out spoken, a little crazy and human...or so she thought. Jen has just found out that human DNA is not the only thing that resides in her veins, she happens to share that little pesky werewolf gene, although it isn't more than just a drop. Now that she and her friends are living in Romania with Fane's pack, she is also oh so conveniently stuck with the object of her affection, the fur ball Decebel.
Drawn to each other by something they don't understand Jen finds herself frustrated by the lack of mating signs between her and said fur ball. Not only is she dealing with that not so un-frustrating problem, she now has been informed that because of that little drop of werewolf blood in her she is now required to attended a multi-pack gathering for un-mated wolves. This type of gathering hasn't taken place in over a century but with a shortage of females among the werewolf population the males are getting worried they won't ever find their true mates.
Meanwhile Decebel struggles with the emotions he is feeling towards Jen. He tries to keep his distance but there is just something about the mouthy blonde that keeps him coming back for more of her verbal abuse that he just can't seem to get enough of...go figure
