ProloguePresent Day, ATTRA Lunar City
Charlie watched Monica, the Commander of the Alien Time Travel and Research Agency (ATTRA) unsheathe a nine-inch, pencil-thin, razor-sharp knife. Monica casually walked around her desk to stand in front of the new female recruit kneeling on the shiny black marble tile and slit the woman's throat.Turning to face Charlie, Monica narrowed her eyes and said, “I caught this whore hacking into my personal computer system. Dedria denied it, but I walked in, and my screen was up.”Charlie stood at attention with her hands clasped behind her back. Her heart was pounding at the brutal death of the innocent woman. Charlie had hacked Monica’s system and been summoned to the gateway before she had time to replace the screen into the sleeve of the wall. Monica returned early from her mission and caught Dedria in her office and assumed the worst, slitting her throat before Charlie could confess to the crime.Monica stepped over to her oblong glass desk. She pulled a tissue from her drawer, then wiped the blood off the knife and returned it to its sheath that hooked on the belt of her uniform. Taking a seat in the ergonomic white leather chair, she said, “Charlie, you have real potential. Are you up for a challenge?”“Yes, Commander.” Charlie stared out the wall of windows facing the Milky Way. She'd arrived at Lunar City shortly after tripping on acid at Woodstock in 1969. She apparently fell through a time portal on the farm.Charlie wished she could remember what happened the day of the concert, but she’d been too wasted. Not that it mattered because she was on a permanent trip now, like something right out of a science fiction novel.During Charlie's ATTRA training, she’d learned that after the Lord Supreme had created the Earth, the moon was brought in and placed in perfect orbit to stabilize the planet. The magnificent city within the interior structure of the luminous silver moon housed several thousand people working for the organization overseeing humanity, tracking Time Spinners, negotiating with alien interlopers, while deflecting debris catastrophic to Earth's existence.ATTRA worked to coordinate parallel universes and alternate realities to keep Earth's path on course to a future utopian society.Charlie had been placed under Monica's authority, and with ATTRA’s strict protocols, it made interference on the injustice she’d just witnessed impossible. Earth was approaching a critical time shift based on the Time Trackers’ paradigm coming in from around the world.Monica motioned for Charlie to sit in the white chair opposite of the desk. “Zane has informed me the Lord Supreme recently assigned Ruben to monitor a Spinner crossing the threshold on June 15, 1948 at 1500 hours.”
Charlie straightened her spine in the chair at the mention of Ruben, her friend, and mentor.Monica said, “The Spinner’s name is Julia Boatwright from North Carolina, born May 5, 1927. She'll give birth to a son, the first human physicist to break the barrier of the space-time continuum into the distant past. Ruben’s assignment is to protect Julia. He’s unaware of the child. Your assignment is to kill Ruben and bring me the girl.”Monica swiveled back and forth in the chair with a glazed look in her eyes. “The Plates of Prophecy state the time machine developed by Julia’s son will travel into the far distant past. If I can train the boy, I’ll control the historical events on Earth and use the information to barter with the more advanced civilizations in the galaxies. General Agriaous and I have set up colonization of a new planet, Veetreous, from the Andromeda Galaxy, and I need more Spinners.”Charlie’s eyes widened. She leaned forward placing her right hand on the desk. “You’re talking about the lives we’ve sworn to protect. And kill Ruben? He’s one of our best Trackers.”With a wave of her hand, Monica scoffed, “For space sake wipe off that lovesick expression. I admit Ruben is very good-looking, and well, not bad as a lover. Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you knew we slept together. Do you want to end up on my marble floor, Charlie?” A slow smile crept across Monica's face as Charlie's cheeks reddened.“No, ma’am. But if the Lord Supreme learns of you and General Agriaous using Spinners as slave labor, it’ll be your head on the floor.”“Silence! May I remind you that you’ve sworn allegiance to me.” Throwing her hands up, palms out, Monica said, “Look, Charlie, Ruben's a threat to me. He wants my job, and I won't allow it. That girl and her child are not only my ticket to a seat on the council but will also make me the Queen of Veetreous. If you play your cards right, you’ll have more power than you’ve ever dreamed possible. I’m issuing you a direct order, Charlie. Be discreet and make Ruben’s death look like an accident after he meets Ms. Boatwright, and I'll consider making you the new Commander.”Charlie clenched her teeth and then replied, “Yes, Commander.”Monica motioned to the sliding glass doors. “Pick up the details of your assignment with Zane outside, then send him in to clean up this mess. You're dismissed.”Charlie turned on a dime and marched out of Monica’s office. She grabbed the assignment chip and raced down the corridor, ducking into an alcove to gather her wits.Charlie had to warn Ruben. But how? Last she'd heard, Ruben had traveled in the Needle-Horn to 1950. Betraying Commander Monica Adams meant immediate execution, but Monica was out of control, and someone had to do something to stop the power-hungry maniac.
Charlie headed to the gateway for a quick trip to 1950.

Review Clarins Lip Oil Tint

My newest review product from Influenster is Clarins Lip Oil Tint.

At first I was a little hesitant because so many lip products make me break out- but no there is no bees wax and no coconut oil in the Clarins Lip Tint which are the two main ingredients I have issues with.

I love the Clarins Lip Tint. It works wonderfully without lipstick or on top of lipstick to give it a glossy glow.

It keeps my lips moist and makes them feel full and plump. And I didn't have to reapply every ten minutes like I do with my normal  lip gloss/moisturizer.

I received the Tangerine color which reacts to my personal PH to give me a unique shade of coral.

Which is absolutely perfect for me because most of my favorite lip colors are shades of coral and other red/browns.

I received this product for free from Influenster in exchange for an honest review.

Interview - Shifted by Fate by S.R. Mitchell

Can you tell readers a little bit about yourself and what inspired to write in this particular genre?

I am from Texas and I am a wife, mother, and writer! I have always loved and enjoyed reading paranormal romance. Writing paranormal romance opens many doors to creativity because anything is possible.

What inspired you to write this book?

Shifted by Fate was in part inspired by a dream I had one night and once the story was in my head I HAD to write it. The story just flowed.

Please tell us about your latest release.  Shifted by Fate is my first werewolf romance, but not my last! I loved writing this story and felt I could do so much more with the characters. Kelly has a history of dating the wrong kind of guy, but certain events and Eric, will change all of that.

Do you have a special formula for creating characters' names? Do you try to match a name with a certain meaning to attributes of the character or do you search for names popular in certain time periods or regions?

I let the names come to me. It is what feels right and fits the character.

Was one of your characters more challenging to write than another?

No… I loved writing all my characters!

Is there a character that you enjoyed writing more than any of the others?

Aunt Piper was fun because of her spunky personality.

Do you have a formula for developing characters? Like do you create a character sketch or list of attributes before you start writing or do you just let the character develop as you write?

I start with an idea in mind about the characters personality and then let it develop as I write the story. The characters take on a life of their own.

What is your favorite scene from the book? Could you share a little bit of it, without spoilers of course?

I think my favorite parts would be spoilers lol

What is the most interesting thing you have physically done for book related research purposes?

I haven’t yet, but I would love to travel to destinations that are inspirations for locations in my books.

Can you tell readers a little bit about the world building in the book/series?
How does this world differ from our normal world?

I research the area that the book’s characters are located and then give it its own unique characteristics. I try to make it interesting to the reader.

With the book being part of a series, are there any character or story arcs, that readers jumping in somewhere other than the first book, need to be aware of? Can these books be read as stand alones?

As of now, Shifted by Fate is a stand alone, but there is a possibility of sequeal.

Do any of your characters have similar characteristics of yourself in them and what are they?

There is always something I add to my main female characters in my books that is a characteristic of myself. For me, it makes them more real.

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? How do you deal with it?

Yes! Usually I take a breather from writing for a few days to a week or switch projects. Changing projects changes my frame of mind which can give me the inspiration needed to continue and rid myself  writer's block.

Do you have any weird writing quirks or rituals?

I like to writing early in the morning or at night when everyone is sleeping and the house is quiet. When I have a crazy awesome dream I will get up to write it down so I do not forget it and then go back to bed.

Do you write in different genres?

Yes! I write Historical Romance,  Historical Paranormal Romance, Contemporary Paranormal Romance, and Paranormal Romance.

Do you find it difficult to write in multiple genres?

No, I write what comes to me and I like being able to add different elements to the stories and characters based on the genre I am writing.

When did you consider yourself a writer?

It took several books to realize that I am finally achieving my dream, but it is still surreal.

What are your guilty pleasures in life?

I would have to say sushi!!!

Other than writing, what are some of your interests, hobbies or passions in life?

I love to crochet and spend time with my kids and family.

What was the last amazing book you read?

Teach by Jillian Quinn

Where is your favorite place to read? Do you have a cozy corner or special reading spot?

I usually read at night while after the kids fall asleep.

What can readers expect next from you?

I am working on several books at the moment. More specific, I plan to complete my third book in my Highland Chance Series and

Where can readers find you on the web?

Interview with Greta Cribbs Author of Road to Yesterday

Can you tell readers a little bit about yourself and what inspired to write in this particular genre?

I have loved paranormal stories my entire life. I was a kid in the eighties, and I thought the Nightmare on Elm Street movies were just about the best thing to ever grace the silver screen. I made frequent visits to the library to look for collections of short ghost stories. I’ve branched out since then, and actually haven’t published anything that fits the ghost or the slasher genres, but I do like to add some sort of paranormal element to everything I write. What inspired you to write this book? This might take a little while to explain.First off, I’m a huge Supernatural fan. Now, Supernatural fans usually fall into one of two categories. There are those who prefer seasons 1 and 2 of the show, and there are those who like seasons 4 and 5 the best. I’m a seasons 1 and 2 girl. The show’s origins were rooted in the horror genre, and since that is my favorite genre, the creepy atmosphere of the show hooked me immediately. I can recognize the great story telling of seasons 4 and 5, but with the focus being on the great cosmic battle between good and evil, those two seasons feel more like fantasy than horror, so a part of me will always be nostalgic for the early days when everything was spooky and mysterious. So how does that relate to my book? Well, it started with a dream. In the dream, my husband and I were driving through some unnamed small town. We knew, the way you know things in dreams, that we were in the Supernatural universe. Sam and Dean were real and everything that had ever happened to them was real. We also knew that we were in the current season (I think they’re on number 12 now). We parked our car and got out. I glanced across the street and saw Sam Winchester. But he did not look the way Sam looks now. He was Sam from season 1. I excitedly tapped my husband on the shoulder to get his attention, saying, “Look! Look! It’s Sam! But it’s not the current Sam. It’s Sam from the first season!” Then I woke up.Three days later I still could not stop thinking about this dream, so I knew I had to turn it into a book. But I don’t write fanfiction, so I had to change the characters names, give them new personality traits, and come up with completely new backstories. But the scene in the first chapter of Road to Yesterday where Kim and Vi are sitting in the restaurant eating breakfast and they see their brother Alex walk in, looking exactly like he did ten years ago, was taken directly from my dream.Do you have a special formula for creating characters' names? Do you try to match a name with a certain meaning to attributes of the character or do you search for names popular in certain time periods or regions?I often name characters after people from my favorite movies or TV shows, but I do it in a sort of convoluted way. Sometimes the name will start with the same letter as a movie or TV character. Sometimes I’ll reference someone from a movie by using the name of another, usually minor, character from the same movie. The most twisted route I’ve ever taken to naming a character was in my first book, Amelia’s Children. There’s a character in there who was based largely on Sheriff Harry Truman from Twin Peaks. I didn’t want it to be obvious that I was referencing Twin Peaks, so I did not want to name him Harry. So I thought, okay, who are some famous Harry’s that everyone knows? The first one who came to mind was Prince Harry, who, of course, has a brother named William. So I named the character Will.It took me forever to name the oldest brother in my newest book. Nothing seemed to fit. So I finally decided I wasn’t going to honor a specific character or a specific actor with his name. Since Road to Yesterday is about time travel, I decided to pay tribute to the time travel genre as a whole. So I named him Kyle after the character who travels back in time in The Terminator.Do you have a formula for developing characters? Like do you create a character sketch or list of attributes before you start writing or do you just let the character develop as you write?
Male leads in my books are usually based on some TV character who I happen to find attractive. The female leads are usually some variation of me. But then, once I start writing, the characters begin to develop their own personalities beyond those identities I initially borrowed from other sources. I never plan this out. I’m so goal oriented, if I wrote out an outline of what kind of character arc my stories had to have, I would end up feeling trapped by it and would likely never finish writing a book. So I start writing, and I let the characters tell me how they want to be written. I know that sounds like the weirdest thing ever to someone who has never written a book, but those who have been on that journey will know exactly what I’m talking about.
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? How do you deal with it?Of course I’ve experienced writer’s block. Who doesn’t? As I said above, the inspiration for my characters often comes from my favorite movies or TV shows. To be more specific, I base my male characters on whatever TV character or actor I happen to be fangirling at the moment. So if I find myself losing the drive to write a certain story, I just spend some time watching the TV show or movie that provided the initial spark, and suddenly I’m rolling again.
Do you write in different genres? I try to incorporate a paranormal element into all of my books. It’s all part of that branding thing that’s so important when you’re trying to get your name out there into the world. But there are many choices within the paranormal genre. My first book, Amelia’s Children, is a murder mystery in which one character happens to have psychic abilities. My second book, Primogénito is a dark urban fantasy involving blood magic. Road to Yesterday is more or less a family drama in which one family member happens to have traveled through time. So my books are all paranormal, but they are all very different from each other.Do you find it difficult to write in multiple genres? Not at all. In fact, I have a good many ideas for some non-paranormal books I’d like to write, but I don’t plan to do so any time soon because of the branding thing I mentioned above.
Other than writing, what are some of your interests, hobbies or passions in life?I am interested in so many things. I have a degree in Music Education, and I love to sing and play piano. I take dance lessons. I’ve dabbled in photography and even tried my hand a filmmaking (something I’d like to develop a bit more in the future, maybe even turning my own books into movies!) I also love reading, which I probably have in common with all other writers.Where can readers find you on the web?I have pages on Facebook and Twitter. I also have a website at gretacribbs.blogspot.com.Would you like to leave readers with a little teaser or excerpt from the book?“So, wait...” I could almost see Alex’s mind working to process what I’d just told him. “You think when I go back to my own time I’m going to do something to save Kyle’s life?”“Exactly.”“So then I’m here...to...find out how to save him?”“No. Well...I guess...I mean, I hadn’t really thought about that part, so maybe. But no, I’m thinking you’re here to do for...for you...whatever you did for Kyle back then.”“But I haven’t done anything for Kyle yet.”“Right. But you will. When you go back.”“And what exactly am I going to do?”“I don’t know. You never told us.”“Then how the hell am I supposed to do it?”“I guess you’ll know when the time comes.”Vi cleared her throat. Her arms were crossed over her chest and she was tapping her foot impatiently. “That’s a great theory, Kim. In fact, let’s go with that. Let’s assume that’s why Alex is here. In which case we need to go so we can get him to Georgia in time to save...himself.” She turned and marched off toward the far end of the lot where her car was parked. “So I’m going with you?”Vi glanced over her shoulder. “I don’t see how you have any other choice. Unless you brought your car with you from 2007.”Alex looked around. “No. I don’t guess I did.”“Then it’s either stay here or come with us.”“But I was supposed to meet someone here.”“You’re ten years late for that appointment, Alex. Whoever it was, I think they’ve left by now.”Vi continued walking toward her car and Alex and I followed close behind.“Isn’t that Kyle’s car?” Alex asked when he saw where we were going.“It was,” Vi said, “but he gave it to me when I turned eighteen.”“So it wasn’t totaled in the accident?”“It was pretty banged up, but Kyle’s a mechanic. Fixing cars is kind of his thing.” “So he fixed it up, then just gave it to you?”Vi shrugged. “Yeah. Well...after he bought the motorcycle.”Alex laughed. “Kyle has a motorcycle? Who does he think he is, The Fonz?”“Kyle’s always wanted to be The Fonz,” Vi said. “Remember his leather jacket phase?”“You remember that? You were, what, like seven?”“He’s my brother as much as yours. And he had that thing for a...really...long time.”“You don’t have to tell me that. I’m the one who had to live with him remember? He never took it off. Even in the summer. In Georgia. A hundred degrees outside for weeks at a time and he’s walking around in that stupid jacket. And we had to share a bedroom! I swear, Violet, there were nights I couldn’t fall asleep because it was like the whole world smelled like Kyle’s armpits.”“Yeah. Thank God I lived all the way across the country.”We reached the car and Vi fumbled in her purse for her keys. Alex stood near the trunk looking quizzically at her bumper sticker.“Violet?”“Yeah?”“Why do you have a huge bird sticker on the back of your car?”“It’s a chickadee,” she said, as though that explained everything.“A chickadee?”“From Twin Peaks.” The inflection of her voice made it impossible to tell if she meant it as a statement or a question.“I don’t remember...”“Dodge Dart...Chickadee. Get it?”Alex just stared at her and shook his head.Vi laughed. “When we get to the hotel tonight, remind me to let you borrow my iPad so you can binge-watch.”“Your what?”“My iPad.”“Maybe they didn’t have iPads in 2007,” I said.Vi stared at Alex with eyes narrowed. “They didn’t have iPads in 2007?”Alex shrugged. “I have an iPod.”“An old-ass iPod from ten years ago?”“Well, I bought it last year, so...eleven years ago?”“Yeah, not the same thing.” She finally excavated her car keys from the cavernous interior of her purse, opened the driver’s side door, and slid in behind the steering wheel.

I'm Trying HelloFresh You Can Too - Get $40 Off Your First Delivery

I keep seeing everyone post about the meal delivery plans so I decided to give one a try.
I've heard good things about HelloFresh and I received a coupon code.
It ends up being around $10 per meal. That's cheaper than going out to eat and around the same as getting fast food or take out. And it saves me much time when it comes to trying to figure out what to make, plan a menu and go grocery shopping (only to get home and realize I am still missing ingredients).
I received my first box today. I'm trying just the two person plan because Little Man is extremely picky and rarely eats what we do anyway (I always have to make him something different) and the teen is hardly home for dinner between work and her social life.

This big box arrived with everything neatly packed inside a cooler box. Each meal is packed in an individual box except for the meat which was under a huge ice pack to keep it cold. Serving details and instructions included.
Now all I have to do is figure out which dinner to make tonight.
There's a pork dinner, chicken dinner and steak dinner.
I opted out of seafood.
I'll keep you posted.

This was never what I wanted, but fame in the mafia was what I got.
When you see numbers like I can, death becomes a constant threat. It lingers, waiting for you to make one wrong move. One falter. One fatal step out of line. The endless presence will drain you, layering you with guilt and regret. Until one day, you’re covered in blood. And in that moment, you realize… you’ve become the grim reaper yourself.
Nothing could stop me from saving my little sister. Nothing could weaken me… until my boss threw a blonde slave at my feet. Once I found out who she was, I should have wanted her dead.
But I had a bad habit of breaking the rules.
And I loved that she hated me.
Like a stupid man named Romeo, I fell for the daughter of the feuding family. Like an idiot named Juliet, she didn’t try to run.
And when I fell for the fair maiden, I shook a pair of dice. I smoked a cigarette, but she paid the final price. As I offered her a smile, my venom filled her core. I watched her drink my poison as her soul walked out the door.

Chapter 4 Excerpt
“I hear you’ve been looking for a government job?” Grimsaw asked it like a question, but I knew there was no good answer. Once he identified betrayal, there was no playing reverse psychology on him. He tapped a gray pistol in his palm, warning me that nothing good was about to come my way. Everything he did came with a price tag. He didn’t offer favors. He did things to claim ownership over people instead. He thirsted for power, and he had a damn lot of it too. After crossing him like I just had, you didn’t breathe the next day. Your fingers were shipped out to your family. That was the end of that. “I’m flattered you’re so frightened to lose me. I didn’t think you would cause a ruckus over something so fatuous,” I smiled, taking a casual glance around the warehouse. It took seconds to realize that most of his grease monkeys had formed a threatening circle behind him. There were at least fifteen men in blue coveralls, all ready to take me down if I made one wrong move. “I thought we were robbing—”“Don't play dumb with me. That was my way of leading you down here. You know what this is.” He spun his finger around the garage, glaring at me ruthlessly. “So, what is it?”“Another initiation?” I guessed. These guys were the worst thugs known to the west coast. They were great allies to have on my side, but that wasn’t where they stood now. I had already completed my fair share of initiations over the past three years. I had done things I would never speak of, but this was Grimsaw’s way of testing my loyalty now. “This is the consequence of your behavior. I gave you everything you needed during your darkest of times, and this is how you repay me? By being a pussy?”“If I was a pussy, you wouldn’t be so upset right now,” I shrugged, welcoming the devil on my shoulder to stand himself tall. “I’ve already done a lot of messed up shit to prove myself to you. I won’t like it if you try to run me through hoops another time.”“Then you shouldn’t have chomped down on the hand that feeds you.” Flames of fury lit up his eyes. “There are two types of people in this world; the good and the evil. I shouldn’t have to remind you which side you chose to leap onto. Once we ride, we die side by side.” He kicked at the metal pail by his feet, as if the thud would somehow convince me to put my head on straight. It didn’t, so I watched the pail roll away unproductively instead. “I consider you a pal, Garciez,” he carried on. “But we're not homies right now. You've been the brains behind the operations for a while, but I draw the line at disloyalty. None of your talents will help you out in this moment. I got no problem lining the streets with your half-breed blood. I’ve got years on you, monkey.”I watched his fists tighten and decompress in an unnervingly steady rhythm. Everything about him reeked of temper. After knowing him for a few years, I could always tell when Grimsaw had met his breaking level. He wasn’t there quite yet, but I was sure pushing him close.“You wouldn’t know how to rob a lemonade stand without me.” I probably should have let him domineer, but I chose the alternative instead. “You could kill me like you did Antonio, but you would never make this kind of coin again. I taught you how to rob a bank. It wasn’t the other way around. You know death doesn’t scare me.” As I met his dark scrutiny, my smile was cocky. Grimsaw had turned me into his own brand of robot. He had desensitized me over the past three years. In return, he’d managed to make me numb. This numbness brought a lack of fear, because I knew Grimsaw didn’t want to kill me. He would try every possible tactic before allowing things to reach that head. If he were to lose me, he would lose his ease of acquiring money too. As it stood, I was the one quenching most of his thirst for wealth.“You might not fear death…” Grimsaw’s eyebrow arched vindictively. The dislodged look on his face caused my guts to wrench like bar rags. “The thing with disloyalty, amigo? I’m better at it than you are.” Only one face entered my mind.

Excerpt:
Meryn looked around helplessly as she dangled in his grasp. Her hopes for escape plummeted when she saw that they were now completely surrounded by no less than twelve huge men all carrying weapons.“Okay, I saw this movie and I didn’t like it. Can I just go home now?” She took in their military gear and closed her eyes.“I didn’t see anything I swear.”“Who sent you?” Meryn opened her eyes to see another blond man stepping forward. At first she thought he might be related to the guy holding her but this man had amber colored eyes not green and higher cheekbones. It was a gorgeous combination.“No one.” “So you just decided to climb a random fence just to see what was on the other side?” There was no hiding the sarcasm in that question. She nodded frantically.“Actually yup. I just moved to town and I woke up and had this overwhelming urge to go exploring. It pushed me here.” She noticed how the men gave each other meaningful looks.“So are you guys like paramilitary? Secret CIA training base? That would be cool.” Meryn asked. All eyes turned back to her. She flinched and closed her eyes again.“I mean, I see nothing, I hear nothing and I most definitely won’t say shit.”The man behind her snorted. The sound of men approaching had her opening her eyes again.Out of the woods two more men appeared. One looked like he glided over the fallen leaves, the other trampled through them recklessly his blue eyes hard. He looked like he was the type of man who wore a perpetual scowl. The angry one looked her over. “What’s your name?”“These are not the droids that you seek.” She said. The smaller auburn haired man to her left cracked up. The hulking man glared at him.“Quiet Keelan.” He turned his gaze back to her. “Come on, that’s Star Wars.” Keelan explained.“She fights star type wars?” He asked concerned. She looked up at him.“Seriously?”

When I Write - Dark Angel by Amanda Jones

Writing Dark Angel
I’m not sure why, but as soon as the sun goes down it’s witching hour for writing about the paranormal…For some reason full 8am sunlight doesn’t seem to put me in the right head space for tales of demonic realms, tortured souls, and finding one’s elusive soul mate.  There are lots of little things I’ve discovered throughout the writing process that help get the creative juices flowing.  The right time of day, the right music, the right background noise TV show to have playing on repeat.

Here’s a little look behind the scenes at what helps get me writing!

Dark Angel Soundtrack
This is a small selection of some of the music that gets my fingers clicking on the keyboard!
Can You Feel My Heart – Bring Me The Horizon
Between Angels and Insects – Papa Roach
Machinehead/Comedown/Mouth/Glycerine – Bush
Madness/Uprising – Muse
Twisted Transistor – Korn
Click Click Boom – Saliva
Temptation/Psychopomp – The Tea Party
Megalomaniac/Juke-Joint Jezebel – KMFDM
Almost Honest - Megadeth
TV Shows I Play When Writing
1) Star Trek Enterprise/Voyager/Deep Space Nine – any one of the many Star Trek movies…you get the picture!  My inner nerd is showing here…!!!!
2) Bones – I heart David Boreanaz…and I own every season on DVD…
3) Downton Abbey – I’ll admit to having watched this series from start to finish at least 4 or 5 times while writing.

4) Any BBC Documentary on the “Great Houses of Britain” that I can find on Netflix…I’m an architecture/history junkie.

Excerpt
“Are you okay?” Katia said, standing in the doorway of the bathroom.            Turning his head towards the sound of her voice, Luc was struck dumb yet again, but for an entirely new reason.  Katia was leaning with one shoulder against the doorframe, the steam from the bathroom hung in the air behind her like mist.  She was wearing the oversized white t-shirt from earlier, but now it hung loose covering the tops of her thighs, but leaving the rest of her thin, toned legs bare.  Her wet hair hung in one long braid over the front of one shoulder.  Luc’s mouth watered as he imagined tracing that phoenix tattoo with his tongue.  With her doe-like mismatched eyes, fine features, and small, thin body, she looked like an otherworldly princess that had wandered out of her fairy tale and found herself in this awful motel.  Luc’s breath caught in his throat.              “Yup, everything’s good,” he said in a strangled voice.
Giving him a dubious look, Katia headed towards the bed, pulled back the covers and sat down leaning back against the headboard.  Luc turned back to the mirror, watching her in it as she flipped her braid over her shoulder and leaned her head back with a sigh.  Locking eyes with his own reflection, Luc started to mentally panic.  There was a small problem — well, not a small problem, and it was getting bigger.

Reviews
As a voracious reader, I find it astounding that I can still come across something original. Yes, I’m familiar with the characters names and previously read interpretations of the good and evil they have done. Dark Angel gives us a new take on how good become evil and evil doesn’t have to be forever.  Dark Angel is the first book in this series and I’m definitely a fan  ~ Stacey is Sassy

It’s been a while since I’ve read a fallen angels novel, and I now remember why I loved them so much!  This is my first book from this author and I’ve added her to my favorite author’s list.  Love can change everything. Even the darkest soul can shine again when they find a reason…I can’t wait to read the rest of their stories. ~ The Secret World of Book Lovers Carla Maggiolo
