December 4, 2012

I've been MIA for a few days...

Gasp! I told you I was trying to take December easy :) And I actually am! I am very proud of myself.

What I've been doing:

Reading, cleaning, watching Christmas shows (the oldies!), walking, doing Advent fun for my kids, learning some ukulele skills (heh), writing--wait for it--a YA paranormal Christmas story. It was inspired by none other than a star baby that one (awesome and lovely) Bronwyn Green made for me and sent to me!

It is my first Young Adult story ever and I'm actually very, very happy with it. It started with girl child saying she wanted to write but didn't know what. I said, write a Christmas story. She said, no, I don't want to do a Christmas story. I said, well that is the challenge. She said, you do it too, then. I said, fine! I figured I'd write a short dirty story to put up for free on my blog. She said, a short YA Christmas story. I said, what?!?! She said, that is the challenge.

Hmph.

But I did it and I'm very happy with it (and myself).

So, that's pretty much it. You're up to speed. Tonight is Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. All part of my commitment to a laid back, retro holiday season. After that is Doomsday Preppers. All part of my commitment to...um...be prepared for the end of the world? Anyway, that's my night :)

So..what have *you* been up to? Eh?

XOXO

Necessity is the mother of invention...[and a WINNER!]

When it came time to put my money where my mouth was after claiming the six o'clock spot in Morning, Noon and Night, it was easy to find inspiration. They say necessity is the mother of invention. The mother[fill in the rest] we call life with children has often necessitated loads of creativity and enough stealth to qualify a person to be a spy.

So, often the after dinner hour is when the man and I were (are) able to claim some adult alone time. Just pondering many past scenarios brought "The After Dinner Hour" to life. Ta and da! Too much info? Just because now if you see me tweet about dinner you may ponder whether or not dessert included zee seks? Oh well! This will soothe your discomfort:

The winner of Alison Tyler's MNN blog hop giveaway of 25 books is...[grand Vanna White flourish]

SWANNIE!

*balloons* *confetti* *cheering*

Congrats to Swannie and big fat thanks to everyone who traveled along and participated. I just have one more thing to say: BUY THE BOOK. It's smoking hot. ;)

XOXO

p.s. Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH for the wonderful birthday wishes all over yesterday. My inbox, twitter, Facebook (they all came via inbox or another update because I found I had inadvertently clicked the thing to not allow people to post to my page--but that didn't stop you!). You are all too kind and me feel so grateful. xoxo

"Holy hell this book is H.O.T.!"

It's been a long while since a book review has made me *this* happy. I really try to um...NOT read them. Usually something will make me feel like I could have done better. For real. But I was curious about this review (due to some snafu with loading the book) and went to see if it had been reviewed yet. And it had. And I read it. And...gasp.

My birthday is tomorrow but I feel like it's today. Super happy. Thanks very much to Just Erotic Romance Reviews for taking the time to read me and for such a lovely, thoughtful review. :)

My fave bit: "It’s been a while since I’ve read an erotic romance novel that turned me on so completely from head to toe (I could have been satisfied with just the elevator scene or the middle of the night visitor!).  I re-read each encounter just to catch more of the decadent nuisances that made the characters squeal in orgasmic delight!"

Woop!

GO HERE to read what I'm yammering on about.

XOXO

Under My Skin...

Oh my goodness, gracious, holy-moly! I'm so excited by this cover.

Under My Skin is a ghostly erotic oddity and I cannot WAIT for it to release in January. I believe it's slotted to release January 9, 2012. You'll be able to find it at Resplendence Publishing, the awesome publisher that houses my zombie exterminator series (love, sex, bondage and the roaming undead).

Woo and hoo!

This week has been chock full of retro Christmas classics. I promised myself a retro holiday season this year. Watching all the classic Christmas shows, slowing down, not working like a fiend every day through the season but taking time to bake and shop and wrap and...ENJOY IT. Like I used to. Before I became a type A, self employed, maniac who doesn't know how to relax.

So far I am making good on the Christmas special part of this deal. And I am doing sprints to contain my writing. I do one or two 1k/1hr sprints and then try and do something else and make my days well-rounded and joyous. It's just for the holidays. Just a few weeks. I certainly won't die...right?

Hmph.

"I can’t wait for the second installment of the trilogy to be released..."

I can mash potato...And I can do the twist...[dancing dancing dancing] I can do them all and I am because Lion Hearted got its very first offiical review and it is not just a five star...it's a Recommended Read! I am happy dancing :)

Woo and hoo too!

Thanks to Leanna at Two Lips Reviews for this:

"I’d never read anything by the author prior to this book but I’ll be honest—I can’t wait for the second installment of the trilogy to be released (hopefully it will be Sam and Eliot’s story!). In the meantime if you like strong male alpha types with a soft heart, hot sex, and a good dose of heart stopping suspense, I highly recommend Lion Hearted by Sommer Marsden!"
To read the entire wonderful review go HERE. It made my whole day :)

Haha!

Plug your ears and hide your children! I just bought myself a wee little birthday gift today. I've been dying to learn and if I get good I might invest in a really nice ukulele. But for now, I will be plucking away on this baby and making my family's ears bleed...I mean hearts sing!

Also, congrats to Stacey Price. She's my Naked Delirium winner. Thanks to all who shared a comment for the giveaway. You rock. :)

XOXO

I have to hollah just a touch...

Right? This is a very quick blog to give a very small squeak about some of the reviews Restless Spirit has gotten lately on Amazon US and UK.

Here goes! Bear with me just for two seconds while I do the blog version of the funky chicken :)

" Book filled with lots of sex, and very erotic BDSM scenes with a very hot cagefigher. At the end of this book, I was wishing for more." Stephanie from NC

"For this being very erotic, I really like the story and characters. I was not just all sex, it had a really great story line and I would highly encourage you to read this one!" Lori

"Dont usually write reviews but feel this one really deserved one This book had everything you need laughter, sex, lots of sex, the chase, good story kept me interested..." Chesh

"Good read, good story and TONS OF ORGASMS" Martha O

"It was well writen and OMG It was way better than fifty shades of grey.. My husband said thank you to the writer Sommer Marsden...Your Awesome!!" Roberta

"Fab book better than 50 shades once I started could not put it down, I finished in a couple of hours" Caroline UK

Yay! I have a teeny weeny touch of OCD sometimes and it makes me very happy to line these all up in a nifty little row on my blog. Thanks to all the readers who read and enjoyed the book and took a moment to do a review. It means more than you know!

XOXO

Almost time for Santa! with Guest Victoria Blisse

And I have proof he exists :) Check out this new release by the amazing Victoria Blisse. I dare you to find a nicer person in the world of erotica. And she has mad skillz too, just check out below!

Happy Saturday, everyone.

XOXO
Sommer

Proving Santa Exists Blurb

When Jonathan transfers from the U.S to the Manchester branch of Computers Inc., Jenny is the first person to make him feel at home. Finding out about his bleak Christmases as a boy, she makes up her mind to involve him in all her English Christmas traditions.

Passion sparks between the two as they decorate the Christmas tree. Who would have thought such an innocent activity could become so sexually charged? Can Jenny succeed in seducing the hot American and also prove to him that Santa really does exist?

* Includes the Full Seasonal Recipes for meals & snacks mentioned in the story.

Proving Santa Exists Excerpt
by Victoria Blisse

"How are you enjoying your Christmas so far?" I ask, the film credits fading into the background.

"It's been amazing," Jonathan enthuses as his eyes meet mine, then a serious shadow darkens their flame.

"Christmas was never anything special when I was a kid. We never had a tree. The home said it cost too much and it was a fire hazard."

I tut and shake my head.

"The highlight was the Santa. We knew he wasn't real, just a man dressed as Santa. He'd bring each of us a toy. I got a little car one year. I still have it."

"How come you knew it wasn't the real Father Christmas?"

"Because we knew there was no real Santa. They told us so all the time. They told us not to get our hopes up because Santa didn't exist and wouldn't bring us what we wanted on Christmas Eve."

“What?" I'm outraged. I feel my blood boiling with the harsh cruelty of it. "Santa does exist."

"You don't believe that, do you?" He shakes his head, his eyes wide.

"Yes, yes I do." I nod my head emphatically. "Maybe not in the way a child does, but I heartily believe in the spirit of Father Christmas. I believe in the meaning behind the make-believe. My faith is in the giving, which is the true centre of the festive season—the heart of it all. It's all about making life better for other people and, through that, enhancing your own life. Santa definitely exists."

Suddenly, those lips are on mine again, and his arms wrap around me. I feel his cheek against my skin. I feel moisture there: the trail of a tear. I close my eyes and kiss back, giving. I give him the softest, gentlest kiss I can. I want him to feel cherished. My heart throbs in pain at the harshness he’s suffered in his life. I want to smooth over all those rough edges; I want him to see what I mean about Father Christmas existing.

I pull him closer to me. My arms wrap tighter around him, and I stroke his back to offer comfort. Our lips, in contrast, are joined lustfully. With every small move, I feel my heart beat harder and faster. I become dizzy with the speed at which the blood is whizzing around my body, making every inch of me zing with the created friction and heat. His body presses me back against the sofa arm, twisting my own beneath him.

His lips leave mine and kiss a fizzing trail of pleasure down my neck to my collar bone. His hands rise from their position on my hips to slide under my loose-fitting red jumper and up higher to cup my breasts. The shock of his cool hands through the thin, lacy gauze is deliciously arousing. I groan my appreciation as his fingers dig into the cups and ease out the masses of abundant tit-flesh beneath. Pushing the wool of my jumper up with the tops of his wrists, his lips leave the soft flesh at the hollow of my neck.

Moments later, after my jumper is completely removed, their warm wetness encompasses my nipple, sending even more intense ripples of pleasure throughout my body. I feel him shift until he's on his knees in front of me. One of my legs is still on the floor, the other is crossed in front of my pubis. I slip a hand between our bodies, running it under his shirt, feeling that soft, supple skin that I've only just glimpsed before. I follow the soft trail of hair down from his belly button to the top of his jeans. I feel more than hear the moan he emits from around my nipple as I pop open the brass button, then slide down the zipper.

I can't believe I am being so forward, but as he doesn't move to stop me, I yank his jeans and his boxers down to the middle of his thighs. My action emboldens him and he moves back, allowing me to spread my thighs around him. Jonathan strokes down to my legs and pulls up the full length of long, billowing skirt, his mouth still feasting on the white meat of my breasts. A hand of mine rubs through the wiry hair trailing down to his cock. When my flesh touches his, I melt. He's hard and hot and very willing.
