We're slashing prices!

I tried really  hard to find a clip of one of those 1970s used car dealership commercials but failed. Nothing quite compares to the ones that were on TV when I was growing up. But I did find this nifty picture. Can you imagine a car for $35? I cannot.

I'm just popping in to say that all December Ink titles (self pubbed) are now 99 cents on Amazon. With the exception of Wanderlust and Gritty. All of them were older titles and I had them set at some pretty weird prices. From $1.29 to $1.69 etc. From back in the day when we were all trying to figure ideal prices for various things. I'll be working--slowly but surely--at changing them on all other sites as well. But time is limited.

Happy Saturday!

Makeover!

My m/m novella Unexpected had a makeover. And I love the new cover. I hope it's coming to Amazon etc and not just the Xcite site. I found it by accident and can't read the tagline. When I get a bigger one (heh) I'll post again.

Love, love, love!

I also love this 5 star review I somehow missed for Unexpected on Amazon:

Fell In Love Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase  Fell in love with the M/C's. Fell in love with the story.

I read a lot of books and I mean a lot, so when I find an author I like I look for other books. This book was written well. Funny with a little sadness, and of course a HEA which for me is a must. So now I'm off to see what else this author wrote.

~Meme

I'm so glad Meme fell in love with my men. I know I did. :)

Theme of the day seems to be...LOVE.

That Other Voodoo That You Do by Lucy Felthouse
First, thanks to Sommer for having me over here and for this fab idea for a guest blogging series. So, what do I do when I’m not writing? Lots of things, many of them boring, but my favourite thing to do is to go out exploring the countryside with my other half and my dog, Scamp. I love country houses, mansions, castles, abbeys, ruins, stone circles, pretty villages and just any beautiful countryside. I’m a particular fan of the Peak District, as it’s got all of the above things, and so much more. It straddles several counties, and although I go there an awful lot, I see something new and fascinating each time I visit. I’m very lucky to live so close to it, though the plan is to sell enough books that I can buy a house and live there!
I love how the landscape is so different, from gritstone to limestone, to rolling hills and craggy moors, it’s just stunning. The photograph was taken near to The Roaches and Lud’s Church, which are two particularly interesting places. You can visit them easily both in one day if you do an eight mile walk or one at a time if you do four mile walks. They both have myths and legends associated with them, which just intrigues me further. The Roaches has a pond at the top which is alleged to house a mermaid... in a landlocked county. Go figure. And Lud’s Church is a chasm in the middle of some woods where it’s alleged that sunlight only hits the bottom (which is covered in sludgy mud – Scamp loved it!) on Midsummer’s Eve. A legend associated with it is that one of King Arthur’s knights came across it and got into an argument with a giant. Fascinating stuff. If you’re into that kind of thing, the Internet will definitely tell you more.
So, yeah, walking in and exploring the countryside is something I adore doing. I don’t really like climbing hills as I’m not very good at it, but I do it anyway so I can see the views from the top (Scamp has quite often assisted by dragging me up). I love views. It’s good exercise, mostly doesn’t feel like it, there are no crowds, the company is great and it’s inspiring. What’s not to love? If you’re ever in the Peak District, give me a shout and we’ll go and explore together.

*****When Katrina’s ex, Tom, turns up on her doorstep, he’s literally the last person she was expecting to see. After dumping her and running off with a vanilla chick, Tom broke the Domme’s heart and left her seriously hurting. So when he returns, begging for another chance, Katrina is understandably very confused and protective of her bruised feelings. She finds it very difficult to believe that he’s turned his back on a vanilla lifestyle for good and wants to be with her, a professional dominatrix. Rather than letting her head or her heart figure out what to do, whether to forgive him, she decides to put Tom through a series of challenges that will prove his devotion to her—or not. Testing Tom is not something she’d ever expected she’d have to do, but to her, it’s the only way she can be sure whether he’s back for good.More info, excerpt and buy links: http://lucyfelthouse.co.uk/published-works/testing-tom/

Happy dance...scared the UPS man.

But I must admit the UPS man and the mail man are used to my crazy excitement and sometimes witness me doing a little jig.

Yesterday brought the two copies I ordered of Coming Together Treasures: Sommer Marsden. The inaugural issue of single author collections Alessia Brio is building for Coming Together. It's exciting all the way around. Don't forget to grab yours. All benefits go to PanCan.org . I might even do a happy dance for you if you tell me you bought one.

XOXO

Yeah so, I'm making noises only dogs and dolphins can hear...

Because my beautiful, beautiful novel Restricted Release that I feel like I've waited forever to see released is up on the Ellora's Cave website in the coming soon section. That's right, baby. I am coming soon. I can't wait!

This book has been two years in the making. That is way slow for me, but I had a period where I simply sat on it (not literally, mind you) unsure of what to do with it. Then I was assigned a new editor at EC and for some reason it seemed right to send it to her. And tada! I did. And we fell in love. We danced and we did cartwheels and we...okay, so we got along really well is my point.

Very excited to see this book heading out into the world for people to read soon. And yes, I cannnot wait until it has a proper cover. But until then, I shall show off its fetching blurb.

{insert high pitched squeaky noise of excitement here}

You can add me to your wish list whenever you like. Like...um...now! :)

Restricted Release by Sommer Marsden

Clara is the recovering anorexic who’s nearly become a shut-in after the end of her emotionally abusive marriage.

Matt is the new boy next door. Graphic artist, nice guy, funny…accepting of Clara.  She wants him, he wants her—but Clara is afraid.

Nadia is the stand-in—Matt’s idea, Clara’s challenge to accept. A longtime friend of Matt’s, she’s a sexual surrogate intended to guide Clara until she’s not afraid of Matt’s desire for her or hers for him. Twosomes become threesomes, watching becomes touching and lust becomes love.

When Matt moved in next door, lust was the last thing Clara expected. Two lovers never crossed her mind. And the need to make a choice was something she thought she’d never encounter. But she’s bolder now, healing, and everything has changed. And a choice must be made, no matter how hard.

Inside scoop: Clara’s healing includes a hot woman who wants to show her how desirable she is and f/m/f menagés.

A Romantica® contemporary erotic romance from Ellora’s Cave

Playing hooky...

is good for the soul. Not total hooky, mind you. Still up early and running to treatment, but the last two afternoons after that and my morning wordage I tossed boy child and girl child in the car and off we went. To that lovely pool under a lovely sky on two lovely days. July days in Baltimore are usually about as fun as being wrapped in a wet wool blanket. So the weather was a treat. The pool was a treat. The hooky was a treat. Sitting with my kids and talking and reading some and floating some with 98 Rock on the radio...treat.

I promise to give you a non-rambling blog soon. But in the meantime, go to the post below if you want to enter my full-dirty-bookshelf contest. You could win a book and one of the three books to be given away will contain a supah sekrit gift card tucked inside. For Barnes and Noble. A book that holds a card for...more books! It's like magic :)

Happy Friday.

XOXO

A Super Excited I-Actually-Did-It Sommer-time Giveaway

In the way back machine (end of 2005) I said to myself, "Self, I want to focus on getting into print." So that was the year I focused on wedging my foot in the door to print. Here is my bookshelf...

This year, just a few weeks ago, I filled that last shelf. The bookshelf was full, which was my goal. It holds all the print anthologies I'm in and copies of all my books that are available in print. So even I was...Wow. I did it. And we bought a new bookshelf for me to start filling. (That one is vintage, baby. It was my grandmother's).

To celebrate actually filling that thing, (I never thought I would) I'm giving away a few of these!

If you can't read them choices are Hard Lessons, Lucky 13, Base Nature, Gritty: Rough Erotic Fiction, Learning to Drown, Big Bad, Long Lost, The Best of Sommer Marsden, The Zombie Exterminators, Angry Sex and Coupling Two. Winners choose the book they'd like to receive.

What do you have to do? Just leave a comment here in the comment section below. Nothing spectacular. Hi, will do. Whatever you like. (There are more ways, keep reading). Make sure you leave your email address as well so I can contact you. I'll send out books after the giveaway time has passed (Leaving it up until August 13, 2013). Three winners will be chosen. One of the books mailed out will have a $20 Barnes and Noble gift card tucked inside. I'll let my kids randomly pick a number between 1 and 3 to choose.

How else to enter? Follow me on Twitter if you don't (let me know in the comments), follow me on Facebook or Pinterest or Goodreads. Or all four! (Each follow counts as an entry. Just make sure to tell me in the comments where you've followed me). And finally, RT this giveaway on any of the sites (Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest) and that counts as an entry too (again, make sure to tell me!).

That's it. This is something I've been looking forward to for a long time. Filling that shelf. Fingers crossed that I get to fill a whole new one now. :)

XOXO

Blindfolded Book Reviews: Girl Fever edited by Sacchi Green

Oh, I'm at it again. Last night I shut my eyes and poked the shelf. Now that's not nearly as dirty as it sounds. If Blindfolded Book Reviews is new to you, HERE are the rules.

This week's lucky poked book is Girl Fever: 69 Stories of Sudden Sex for Lesbians (another Cleis volume, thank you very much) edited by Sacchi Green. The lucky table of contents poke was Taste of My Woman by Giselle Renarde. Which was awesome because it's always fun to poke Giselle.

Let me nutshell the story:

Taste of My Woman is all about longing and needing to get off and missing your woman and yes...chocolate. This super short story takes place entirely over the phone and yet manages to evoke all the kinky, lovely, yummy images and cravings that a person-to-person story would. There's even a nibble of getting caught in the act in there for fun. So um...whew. Is it hot in here? I think my chocolate melted...

There ya go. Just enough to make you feverish to get your hands on this hot little book. It's so cute, might I say, but packed with 69 short stories of lesbian love. Edited by Sacchi Green who always puts together magical anthologies. You can't go wrong.

Now seriously. Someone get me some more chocolate. And a phone...

XOXO

July 19, 2013

So I've mentioned more than once that 13 is my lucky number...

If I recall, I was even stoked about this year being 2013. And yet...it never...occurred to me to post my first book ever all by myself "Lucky 13".

That's a big fat duh, isn't it? ;)

Now that our year is officially more than half over, it is finally occurring to me. Here you go. A flashback. Is The Doctor here? This is true time travel...my first book ever. Put out in 2009. Man, that seems like eons ago, to be honest:

Lucky Thirteen by Sommer Marsden

Couples, three ways, hook-ups, masturbation that might end in death - today’s sex scene is anything but boring. From a man who meets his fantasy woman for some “light bondage” to the escapades of a sex toy selling sexpert. It’s all here and then some.

Sommer Marsden has assembled some of her finest. A three way with the boss from hell, a hook up that’s only supposed to last one night but turns into so much more. Featuring some of the author’s favorites such as: She Looked Good In Ribbons, Underpass and Pause - Lucky 13 brings you a baker’s dozen of filthy tales to satisfy every naughty urge.

And a few of the kind words spoken about my virgin voyage:

"Baby, this one is hot, hot, hot!(A) sizzling collection of stories-filled with all the wholesome goodness that erotica has to offer. There are ample descriptions of emotions and sensations that make the graphic sex scenes more vivid for the best vicarious joyride. There are also some unexpectedly tender and even heartwarming moments in the more romantic stories. All in all, this one is too much of a good thing and I'm giving this one two thumbs up." -MRS. GIGGLES - 90/100!

"Ms. Marsden truly brings an exquisite collection of erotica to the table with Lucky 13. All thirteen stories left this reader breathless and wanting more..." -Amanda at Manic Readers, 4/5 STARS!

"Sommer Marsden-s skill as an author is in her ability to depict living breathing human beings and make them interesting, exciting and entertaining. The fact that she chooses to write in the erotic genre means that we lucky readers get to see these vibrant individuals enjoying the complexities of a passionate and carnal existence. If you enjoy well written erotica, and you want to get lucky with your choice of reading material, it-s a safe bet to pick Lucky 13." - Ashley Lister, Erotica Revealed

"Lucky 13: Thirteen Tales of Getting Lucky Author Sommer Marsden is a writer I consider to be one of the top storytellers in the erotica genre, and she-s just getting started. She is one I-m watching closely. This collection is 13 of her hits, and highly recommended" - Violet Blue, author

Ta and da. Have a lovely weekend. I hope to come back with news of a GIVEAWAY very soon. Once I can get my act together. It's been a whirlwind week.

TGIF!

XOXO
Sommer
