I'm a MUST READ!

One of Xcite's MUST READS for October. What does that mean? It means that if you don't read me, we will show up at your house with paddles and whips and...wait. That might not work. You might like that.

Heh. Kidding.

What that means is I am on sale for 99cents on all venues. My October Must Read novel is Calendar Girl and I have so stand by that decision. Calendar Girl is one of my sexiest, funniest, most beloved of novels. So you get a whole book of great characters with tons of sexy time for 99 cents. That's a treat, no trick.

Go check me out along with all my fellow MUST READS on Xcite's site . :) You could get the whole lot of us for less than a standard paperback! Now get reading *cracks whip*

XOXO

Nothing Starts the Morning Right Like a Little DP!

I mean Double Posting...what were you thinking, you dirty thing?

Today, on my chaos tour for Restricted Release (see three blogs down), I'm at Victoria Blisse's blog  with some cupcake porn (recipe and everything, folks). Devil's Food, no less. Sinful. I just love her graphic. So, so cute.

Come read my bloggety blog and peruse my cupcakes. My, but that sounds kinky...

And when you're done there, the next chaotic stop is also up (heh, up) at Tenille Brown's blog. There you will hear me wax poetic about the girl crush I never knew I had . Nadia. And you get to meet her. Boy...she's pretty. I bet you agree.

I hope you'll stop in and read. If you feel all wild and crazy, maybe even comment.

We start round two of chemo today so wish us luck!

Happy Tuesday.

XOXO

Pot Pourri...Bitch

Which translates to...a whole bunch of shit, yo.
First on the roster is...Breaking Bad. Do you watch it? Did you watch it? Oh, my God. Such a good finale in my humble opinion. We were all happy with the ending and how they tied everything up. The man tends to run when me and the minions watch BB. Why? Because it's more like some in depth college psych class than a TV show. We sit and talk off and on about characters, their intentions, their duality, how well they're written, what we think will happen. He just...runs.

Last night, I must give super big kudos to whoever thought to use the final song as the final song. I nearly cried.

Good, good stuff. There! See that. No spoilers at all. Just a final fun fact that we ate Good Bye Breaking Bad cupcakes.

Next up, holy crap! The last time I checked on my book Restless Spirit on Goodreads it had thirty/forty or so reviews/ratings. I went back the other day and um...620! What the hell happened? Well, apparently, it's on Netgalley. So if you Netgalley (see I made that into a verb?), check it out if you can. Someone even made me a killer pull quote 'poster'. It is awesome. You can see all the input on Goodreads.

And finally, chemo brain.

I've noticed that lately when folks come on and comment on my blog, I often answer them in my head but forget to actually do it on the blog. It happens on Twitter and Facebook too. So if you say something to me, and I do not answer, let me assure you that the most likely scenario is...I have answered you. Just not so you can see it!

Bear with me, folks, I was prepared for the man to get chemo brain but not me. However, I seem to have it too. I chalk it up to too much to do, too many plates on poles, too many balls in the air. We start round two of chemo tomorrow, so it will be going on bit longer, but keep talking to me! Because even if I forget to actually type my answer to you, I appreciate your comments and contact (and as always, your support!).

XOXO

The First Level of Chaos...

Is, of course, none other than Alison Tyler. She's the first stop on my super laid back almost a blog tour for Restricted Release. She was tickled with her new title so she made this:

Of course she did. (Much like my Pinterest board and the Beastie Boys song) She's crafty.

Go check out AT's blog for insight on 'did this really happen?'. In this case it did. And it's not what you think.

Happy Sunday (go Ravens!).

XOXO

New stuff is new!

First up is Shameless Behavior which features my story Echo Chamber. Go grab a copy, read it, if you like it...go on make some noise. (That's a joke. You'll get it once you read the story). And might I just say, that is a spect-ass-ular cover! Click the image or go HERE .

Also new, new, new, the paperback edition of Finding Herself which features my novella Inventing Herself. Ta and da! This is one of The Secret Library books that has the flocking on the cover. The books are almost as much fun to hold and stroke as they are to read. *cough* Not that I've ever stroked a book...[lies!]

Just click the image or go HERE .

That's my update. Hope you're having a super duper weekend. We are having lovely fall weather. I'm ready for football tomorrow. And some of that pumpkin pie I made today!

XOXO

Coming soon! A disorganized ball of chaos!

The most laid back blog tour ever! Not because I'm very laid back, mind you. Mostly because I wasn't quite on the ball this summer. I am now doing a blog tourish kind of thing. I've been invited to some very spiffy places to guest blog and hock my book. So stay tuned and I'll be posting links to site/blogs I'm appearing on as they happen. It's like real time reporting. Or reality TV! Or, ya know...a disorganized ball of chaos. Fun, fun chaos.

XOXO

#17

I can't believe I'm saying this but...17 years ago today I had this little fart blossom. (Pet name in this family). We brought him home and I was terrified. I had no clue what I was doing. And he cried...a lot.

All these years later I still have no idea what I'm doing. He does not cry very often anymore. But he eats...a lot.

Happy birthday, Boy Child! You are the best surprise I ever got, and once I got over the fear of you ending up on Oprah talking about what an awful mother I am, we sure had a lot of fun. We love you very much. (I'll show you this blog next year when you're legal to read my blog. Heh.)

XOXO

All the little pieces...

76/365 - dumb missing last piece
Make me want to drink! Just kidding. Mostly.

I'm not talking about the jigsaw puzzles we've taken to doing recently. They, in fact, have become a little stress reliever for me lately. I used to hate them. I had no patience whatsoever for something like that, but we started doing them shortly after the man began treatment this summer and we're now wrapping up the third puzzle (1,000 piecers).

What I'm referring to is the fractured book I was working on when my computer bit the dust. I had the majority of it saved in the ether. So when my former baby went belly up I began to write a chapter at a time on my iPad. Then I misnamed a chapter. But I forgot and...*gasp*. It's just awful.

Yesterday my mother-in-law brought me a gift. Microsoft Office '13. Um...because "I know you need it for your work" (I was working all seat of my pants in various programs). This is what mothers do, I guess. So today was the big fat stress of installing it. Yes, I know, laugh if you want but it stresses me. Hey, I'm old and I worry to death when I have to do shit like that because I'm certain I'm going to fuck something up and render the whole damn thing useless. The first time we installed Word on a computer, years ago, the man had to wait for me to be asleep to install it so I wouldn't panic and spin out of control. *snort*.

Anyway, I finally got Word '13 installed, proved I was actually me to the fine folks at Microsoft, and was on my way to working when I thought to myself, "Hey, self! You know what would be awesome? To put that whole novel together now that we have Word and then I can begin to proof it tomorrow. The sooner it's proofed, the sooner it can be subbed." My self thought this was a great idea. Until I started to do it.

First I had to email myself the bulk of the book, then I began to go in and paste in chapters from text copies in my email. Um...until chapter 24 where it all fell to shit. I searched, read aloud, tried to piece together this quilt of pages and finally realized I had a document marked "Chapter 24 for real". Ha! End story is I have the book all Frankensteined together and I can begin proofing it (in Word, huzzah!) but God, what a fucked up way to arrive at the finish line. Two nervous breakdowns in one day.

Happy Monday right? Fun fact: the lady at the post office said to me as she handed me my receipt this morning: "Have a good weekend." I laughed, "Wishful thinking?". She laughed too. "Girrrrrrrrl."

Only four more days until the weekend! Girrrrrrrl...

XOXO

Oops! I almost forgot...

Non sono montagne

It's been a day and a half over here in Sommerland. You could even call it a 'day of dentists'. I won't bore you with the gory details but I will say I'm over at Lucy Felthouse's blog guest blogging about taking reviews with a grain of salt and the danger (an inescapable one, I think) of expectations when it comes to being a novelist.

I hope that made sense. I'm on painkillers.

Anyway, go see! And then go down (heh) below and check out what I have to say about Lunch.

XOXO

p.s. those aren't grains...they're mountains. Which is much more along the lines of what I need ;) photo credit: lorca56 via photopin cc
