A little while after I got my start writing erotic romance, I got my feet wet with blogging. I was terrified – for some reason, blogging was scarier to me than submitting stories. (Yeah… I don’t know either…)
But one day, Sommer popped up out of the blue and commented on my blog. It wasn’t totally out of the blue – I mean, I knew who she was, had read a bunch of her stuff, but I was way too intimidated to talk to her or anything, because you know…*whispers* Sommer Marsden.
Anyway, she popped up on my blog and I had a total fan girl moment. After that, I started talking to her and realized that she’s one of the nicest, funniest and genuinely awesomest (pretend it’s a word) not to mention hardest working people in this business.
I’m so happy to help her celebrate her 9thbirthday in publishing because I like birthdays, because I like parties, but most of all, because I like Sommer!
Because it’s March (which is an infinitely better month than February A.) because it’s the month that I was no longer ever pregnant again B.) it’s also the month I was first published C.) it’s the month that everyone is at least a little bit Irish. D.) it’s not February - the most miserable of all months) I’d like to give away an e-book copy of my Celtic Fire collection from Totally Bound.  Celtic Fire consists of Solstice Seduction, Moonlit Magic and Moonlit Ménage – fallen angels, faeries and orgies, oh my!
Here’s an excerpt from Moonlit Ménage:
Quill’s eyes dropped to her lips. It wasn’t the first time he’d looked at her like that, but it was the first time she’d ever considered doing anything about it.
Tarran stepped up behind her, his chest grazing her back, his body heat wrapping around her like a comforting blanket. He smoothed his palms over her bare shoulders and down her arms while the music became little more than a whisper. She took a deep breath and slowly expelled it, leaning her head back to rest on Tarran’s chest, keeping her gaze on Quillen. “When you both touch me, it almost vanishes completely.” Quill’s eyes darkened with desire, and her stomach tightened with trembling anticipation while Tarran’s clever fingers kneaded the tense muscles in her neck and shoulders. Her fear receded, quickly replaced by need. She wanted their touch. She wanted them to kiss her, stroke her, chase away the otherworldly threat that still lingered on the edges of her consciousness. She didn’t want to think about a world where faeries existed and apparently wanted something from her. She didn’t want to think about fluttery golden creatures who’d prefer it if she were dead. And she certainly didn’t want to think about the fact that it wasn’t right to want two men as much as she did—especially, not at once. She just wanted to feel their hands, mouths and cocks on her body. Skin against skin, making her forget everything else. The arousal she’d sated earlier thrummed to life again, sliding insistently beneath her skin as she trailed her fingertips over Quill’s sculpted chest. His nipples tightened, creating tight little buds under the soft fabric of his T-shirt. He sucked in a breath through clenched teeth as her nails caught on the sensitive flesh. “Brontë.” His whisper grazed over her skin like a caress as he slowly lowered his head. His hand slid along her cheek and into her hair as his lips brushed across hers, his touch feather-light. She lifted her mouth to his, increasing their contact, needing more than a fleeting taste. He fisted his hand in her hair as if he was having trouble holding back. He plunged his tongue into her mouth on a hungry groan and pressed himself to her body, backing her into Tarran’s chest. Pinned between both men, shivers of need coursed through her, growing more intense as she felt the heated insistence of both men’s erections. Whimpering into Quill’s mouth, she clutched at his shoulders, urging him closer. Tarran stiffened behind her. His hands fell from her shoulders and he began to back away. Worried that he thought she only wanted Quill, she snaked an arm behind her and caught Tarran’s waistband, pulling him close again. He pressed his hard cock against the cleft of her ass, as he drew her hair back, exposing her neck and shoulder. His hot, unrelenting lips dragged open-mouthed kisses over the curve of her shoulder, up her neck to the tender spot behind her ear. “Do you know what you’re doing, love?”

Day 5 brings Charotte Stein, synonyms and a triple threat of saucy books...

The first time I 'met' Charlotte Stein she made me LOL. That's what I remember most. Seeing this
little black and white image and the LOLing. A long time has passed since then and Charlotte still surprises me on a regular basis with some off-the-cuff remark online that makes me laugh. Oh, and she's a hell of a writer, too. Penning one of my favorite erotic novels ever~ Control.

She's offering up three of her books and man, that is a amazing. Or to quote Charlotte: "Amazeballs".

Yesterday's winner is...Random.org chose bn100! AR Von will be in touch! :)

XOXO

When I first started out as a published writer, one of my role models was Sommer. I used to
look at her shelf of published works on her blog and dream of one day having something like
that. She inspires with her writing, her talent, her work ethic, and though I now have a shelf
of my own I still look to her as everything a writer and a human being should be. And that’s
why I am here today – not to promo my own work, but to celebrate Sommer. Nine years of
being fabulous, of inspiring, and lovely.

You are amazing Sommer.

May you continue to be for another nine(ty) years.

If you would like to win an ebook bundle from me in honour of Sommer’s special celebration, just answer this simple question in comments:

“How fantastic is Sommer Marsden?”

Hint: all synonyms of very or extremely will be accepted! Oh and the bundle includes:
Almost Real, Control and Sheltered.

Note from Sommer: *Please remember to leave your email in your comment so we can contact you if you win (today's prize or the grand prize!). You can't win if we can't contact you. And that would make me do this: :(

Day 4 brings A.R. Von, yesterday's winner and...dragons, unicorns, magic and mermaids

It's Monday! Okay, it's actually Tuesday but it feels like Monday since school was closed due to snow yesterday. I think today it should be closed due to frigid! Anyway, onward and upward.

Yesterday's winner is melonhead! We will be in touch with info on your Omnibus edition! :) Thanks for playing.

Today's guest is AR Von. A friend newer to me than some but no less fantastic. She's into dragons and zombis and all kinds of Wunder-ful things. She's also one of the nicest people I've ever tripped over on the internet. There's something to be said about genuine people and that's the first thing you notice about her. It shines through in everything she does.

AR's offering reader's choice of Wunder Volume I or Lady's Destiny and signed swag. Don't forget to *leave your email address in with your comment so we can contact you if you win. And as always, you'll be entered in the grand prize drawing with your comment here today! Ta and Da. I think that's pretty wunder-ful...but I'll have to ask AR.

A.R. Von Guest post (Lady’s Destiny)
Mystical creatures of all types have held a piece of my heart for as long as I can remember. Dragons, unicorns, pixies, elves and many more have always invaded my dreams. They still do this day. I’d miss them if they ever decided to leave me…
In 1982 I was *ah hem* years old (insert goofy smile here) and always watched the movie The Last Unicorn with my sister whenever it was on the television.

Lady’s Destiny is a story that started as weekly flash fiction. My very first flash fiction I wrote with this amazing group of briefers (visit: http://wedbriefsfic.com/ if you’d like to see more about the Wednesday Briefers).  We are given prompts, weekly and we each use one, two or more and create a story to our blogs for our followers to read and enjoy. The very first flash, the entire story of Iria and Dezso, were inspired by The Last Unicorn’s story and my sister’s deep adoration of unicorns combined with the prompts and my imagination. It was a fun and beautiful story to write. I hope readers fall in love with the characters and the world I created just as I did!
(Lady’s Destiny is written for readers 18+ for sexual content.)
If you want to take a peek at my younger mind's version of light vs dark- good vs evil…The Last Unicorn: http://youtu.be/t-UpwWauZ50

Lady’s Destiny HOT excerpt
She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes. “That smells lovely Dezso. Thank you for this. Thank you for everything.” She moves closer to me, licking her lips and looking at me in the most sensual way.
I feel the blood rush straight to my cock and a tingle go from my spine to my balls just from that small action. “Iria?” I feel trapped by her gaze. I cannot move. She draws nearer. So close, I can feel her warm breath on my neck.She stretches up on her toes and presses her body against mine. Her eyes briefly widen as she notices my erection. Then, she lets out a soft moan and places both of her hands against my face, pulling me closer for a kiss.Our tongues duel as if they are in a battle for power. I follow through, giving as good as she gives and throw in a suckling of her tongue for good measure.

Bio:A.R. was born and raised in Bronx, NY and is the oldest daughter of two girls. She holds an Associate’s Degree in Computer Science and Information Technology, which was only briefly used. She’s a mother of two entertaining teen boys (as well as a lovely fawn Chihuahua, whom she considers her furry daughter.) She’s also a wife to a delightfully handsome and amazingly funny man-beast. She loves anything dragon and fantasy related. In her free time she enjoys exercising, writing, listening to music, hiking, cooking, dancing and reading. She also loves a great adventure in and out of a book!
She writes to free her mind of its constant wondering and clutter. She thrives on the fact she can share some of it with readers that have the same passion for a great story.

She also loves to hear from her reader’s and chat away, so feel free to reach out to her any time.

Day three is Willsin Rowe, a winner and some therapy. Come on...we all need therapy, right?

Good morning! Snow got dumped all over us. In fact, it's still dumping. So schools actually closed last night (for once!) and we got to sleep in. But I am here for day three with a winner: Random.org chose Trix to win yesterday's prize The Immortalis Series box set! We'll be in touch, Trix.

Now I go on with one of my favorite people in the writing world. We met a few years back because we're both Excessica authors, but Willsin's also and AMAZING cover artist. You'll see him all over my books Gritty: Rough Erotic Fiction (which he's in), Wanderlust, Angry Sex and the current The Accidental Cougar. And more!

But that's not all, he's just one of the nicest people ever and a talented writer to boot. So let's wipe off all that smushiness and lurve and I'll post his blog now. Willsin is offering the Consummate Therapy Omnibus Edition (another box set! how cool) written by Willsin and Katie Salidas (remember her from yesterday?). You can feed your Nook/Kindle/iPad/device something yummy and tasty and spicy with this one.

Remember to *leave your email address in your comment so we can reach you. You can't win if you don't leave us  your contact info. And remember *every comment is entered into the grand prize drawing.

XOXO

Friends In Your Corner
I first “met” Sommer because we shared a publisher - Excessica. Her witty and silly posts on the now defunct Excessica blog site were awesome (and part of the reason I now call her Awesommer).
When I noticed she had a little call for submissions out, I leapt at the chance to submit to her (like pretty much any red-blooded male would...oh, wait...not like that).
Thankfully, my little story was accepted and published in an anthology called “Dirtyville”. From there, we reached out across the waves and started emailing each other directly. She was one of my first ever overseas pen-pals. We “got” each other – both in personality and in writing.
Which kinda brings me around to my point.
Friends in your corner. In any field, these are pretty darn important. But in a creative endeavour like writing, where you’re putting out little pieces of yourself to the world and saying “please like me, I’ll be your bestest friend!”, having someone else blowing your horn (*cough*) is vital.
Sommer, and indeed, yesterday’s guest Katie Salidas, are two of my greatest horn-blowers (seriously, I shoulda picked a different analogy). And it’s a mutual situation. Because I really do pick up what they’re puttin’ down, and vice versa.
When you have these amazing friends in your corner, it becomes just that little bit easier to put yourself out there. You know you have backup. A team, of sorts.
Over the years I’ve known her, Sommer has seemed to become a little bit more at ease about saying to everyone “hey, I have a book out”. But what she won’t ever feel comfortable about is to tell you is how great those books are. That’s where I come in! I can see the woman within the stories, and the stories within the woman. Every story of Sommer’s that I read makes me like her even more.
We’ve been pals for four years now. I find myself thinking sometimes...”wow, FOUR YEARS!”. Then I start thinking...”wow...ONLY four years?” Yet she’s been pumping out sensual and sexy stories for more than twice that length of time! Her level of output simply staggers me and makes me sweetly jealous.
So let’s raise our glasses (cute little rectangular ones with coloured frames if you gots ‘em) to Sommer’s ninth anniversary. I’m far richer for knowing you, lady and you may never realise quite how much you inspire me.
Cheers!

EXCERPT:
“If your spirit is the equal of your body...” He ran his fingers across my shoulders and down the gully of my spine. “...then it will be a rare pleasure breaking you in.”
Despite my initial apprehension, his words and his touch sent a thrill through me.
He moved from behind me and my back suddenly felt cold. I watched his muscular form as he prowled to the chair, and admired his grace as he mounted it.
“Bind her. Bring her to me.”
Chloe appeared beside me with a length of smooth rope in her hands. My instincts cried out to run, to fight, but I bit down on them. I could see where this was heading and…and I wasn’t sure I hated it.
With practiced efficiency, Chloe had my wrists secured in under a minute. She led me over to Master Sweet and handed him the loose end of rope.
“Slave, lie across my lap.”
I couldn’t help it. I hesitated. This was so new to me. He curled the rope around his wrist and pulled steadily, with a strength I couldn’t resist. With Chloe’s help he had me prone across his lap, my bare ass angled out and vulnerable. My heartbeat sped with a mixture of excitement and uncertainty. Even though there was something so degrading about being put over someone’s lap, there was a part of me that found it...invigorating. I wasn’t about to let him know I felt that way, though. I held my tongue and watched blankly as Chloe worked, binding me in place.
She took the rope and fed it through the eyelet at the base of the chair, leading it underneath and through a matching eyelet on the other side. She walked around and crouched behind me. From my angle I could only see her hands taking the rope, but I could sense her body heat on the backs of my thighs, feel her breath tickling across my ass…and everywhere else. I wondered if she was there to do more than just tie knots.
The rope’s firm grip around my right knee took me out of that reverie. I watched as Chloe fed the rope back through the loop and then around my left knee. I understood the chair’s construction much better now. Looped around it, with Master Sweet’s strong legs as a cushion, I had nowhere to go. Intriguingly, there was still enough slack in the rope that I could spread my knees apart.
“Look in the mirror.”
I raised my head and stared. I barely recognized myself. In the low light, my black hair almost blended with the room. I could see enough to know it was a mess, though.
He slipped his hand onto my ass and rested it there, soft, unmoving. The deceptively light touch sent chills rippling across my body.
“You’ve earned a spanking for your disobedience. You will watch as your punishment is delivered, and you will count the strokes.”
My breath hitched in my chest. Spanking. I hadn’t had one of those since I was a little girl. So demeaning, and yet the thought of it sent heat rushing between my thighs. There was a part of me that longed for it. In a world where I constantly had to think at least six to twelve months ahead, a consequence that was both immediate and tangible somehow felt like a luxury.
He raised his hand, cocked it like a gun. I followed the movement instinctively, admiring the pure power of it, knowing full well that its force was about to come crashing down on me.
“No. Look into your own eyes.”
I did as instructed. My mouth hung open as I tried to catch my breath, which had begun racing. I clenched my muscles and squeezed my thighs together, waiting for what came next.
The blow, when it landed, cracked like a pistol shot. For the slightest instant all I felt was the jolt through my body. My vision blurred with the impact. Then the sting bloomed on my ass and began to tingle. I watched my own mouth stretch, listened as my breath hissed in. I would not cry out.
“Count it!” he demanded.

Day 2 of my birthday bash brings Katie Salidas and...we have a winner!

When I think of mixing it up, which is Katie's blog message below, I can't help but think of Katie Salidas. We met a few years ago and I can tell you a few things...she is super nice, she does vampires (not like that) and she's a go to source if you're interested in self-publishing. Oh, and in the last few years she had a hundred kids. Okay, so not a hundred, just two. But how the heck she manages to do all that with two kids under 3 (which might as well be a hundred) and an older minion...I'll never
know.

Check her out when you get a moment. That moment can start as soon as I announce yesterday's winner: Evelyn Adams! Evelyn, I'll be knocking on your email door very shortly for your address. Those of you who didn't win, don't worry! You're name went in the bowl for the grand prize. You still have oodles of chances to win :)

Today, the lovely magical multi-tasking Katie is offering the Immortalis Box Set as the door prize. That's um...all of them! In one. Hot damn. And on top of it there's a coupon code below to get book 1 of her most recent series for a song. Can't beat that with a stick.

*Just comment for a chance to win and be sure to leave your email address for me in case you do win. If I can't contact you, you can't win. And that would be sad... :(

XOXO
Sommer

Mixing it up!
It’s not really recommended to write in multiple genres. It’s hard enough as it is to nail down one specific genre. Each one has its own rules and elements that should be captured. But, there are some of us out there, in the writing world, who just can’t help ourselves. We have to play in everyone’s playground. Romance, Erotica, SciFi, Dystopian, Paranormal… the list goes on and on. They are just too much fun to play with. Kinda reminds me of that old Reeses’ Peanut Butter Cups commercial “You got chocolate in my peanut butter… you got peanut butter in my chocolate…”
Various genres overlap so well. Why not have a little paranormal in your erotica? How about a little Dystopian in your SciFi? Or, better yet, throw as many as you can into one book. Paranormal Dystopian Romance with a hint of SciFi. If the characters participate maybe then a little Erotica can be squeezed in too. Okay, that might be going a bit too far, but I do think that the various genres do overlap enough that in the course of a book it is easy to hit quite a few. Think about it. You start with paranormal creatures. They are over the age of 18. That places you into the adult paranormal category (or if you want to get trendy you can label it New Adult.). Add in a little romance and you’re now into New Adult Paranormal Romance. Switch it up by adding a little Mystery. Or you’re in the future and these paranormal creatures are in a super advanced society…SciFi! The possibilities are endless and in mixing up the genres you can really have fun with a story. That’s where my latest book came from. I’m a fan of vampires and other paranormal creatures.  I’m also a fan of Dystopian fiction. That sparked the idea of a post-apocalyptic world where vampires are not the predator, they are the prey and so are other supernatural creatures. That’s two genres down… I’ve got a few romantic elements in there as well. And it is so much fun to write. Book 1 of three was just released: Dissension. It is getting wonderful reviews from readers, so I think the genre mashup idea is working. But, don’t take my word for it. Try it for yourself. Read a sample and then, if you like, use this Coupon Code: JQ75W  and grab a copy, cheap!

The roar of the crowd, all twenty-five-thousand people in attendance, rose to a thundering crescendo when Mira delivered a bone-crunching blow to her opponent’s ribs. Standing only five feet tall, she might not have appeared a formidable warrior, but the thin, spiky-haired waif of a vampire could hold her weight and more when put to the test. Amplified by the superb acoustics, the sound of bones cracking echoed through the Superdome arena. The defeated, a red-headed male vampire staggered, punch-drunk, and then dropped to his knees. Dirt and sweat coated his face but could not mask the fear in his icy blue eyes. His was a look Mira had seen so many times before. Her opponent’s immortal life had finally come to an end, and he was ready to take the final deadly blow.
Above her, Mira knew the fifty-foot mega screen showed her hapless victim in brilliant resolution, ensuring that all who were attending, and those watching from the comfort of their homes, could see these last gruesome moments in crystal clear high-definition.

Mira gazed down at her opponent’s blood-soaked face. Though he was her enemy for the moment, she did not relish having to end him. No one should be forced into the arena and told to kill or be killed. It wasn’t right. But it was what was demanded of her, and given the choice between her life and someone else’s… well, there really was no choice. No matter the cost, Mira was a survivor.
She glanced up to the large private box overlooking the arena. A well-dressed man in deep-purple robes sat, enjoying what appeared to be a dinner of filet mignon and roast potatoes. Even here, in the dusty arena below, Mira’s enhanced senses picked up the tantalizing scent of very rare, bloody steak. She could hardly believe that a human could not only watch the murder about to take place, but also sit and eat the dead flesh of a once-living being while doing it. From the smell of it, the poor beast was practically still bleeding on his plate. Who was truly the more savage creature?

Over the crowd’s roar, an announcer introduced the well-dressed man, Lucian Stavros, Regent of the Iron Gate. Lucian gently and purposefully slowly set down his knife and fork. He took another moment to wipe his face clean and then smiled, acknowledging the roaring crowd.

Chants of “Death, death, death,” rang out from the throng as a single unified demand.

The Regent listened for a moment, making a show of putting his hands to his ears to hear screaming hoard’s request, and then held a hand out, with his thumb pointed to the side.

As if the next moment were the most important, the anticipating mass hushed. Eerie silence filled the arena as everyone watched for the Regent to make his decision.

From her vantage point below, Mira saw the steely look of determination cross the Regent’s face. If she didn’t know better, she might have thought he took this decision seriously; but then, he was human, and they never cared much if her kind lived or died. Lucian Stavros took a cursory glance down at Mira. Their eyes met. It was only a brief moment, but in that short time, Mira saw him waver.

Could it be true, she wondered, or was it just a trick of the light? No human actually cared about the lives of vampires. The moment faded, and the fleeting thought left.

Mira saw the Regent’s decision. He turned his thumb down. Death!

The crowd went wild.

The last hope for her defeated opponent had vanished; Mira had to finish him. “Sorry,” she whispered to the half-dead vampire on his knees before her. Though her fangs tingled at the prospect of tasting his final dying moments—her reward, if you could call it that, for living through another battle— she did not enjoy what she was about to do. Like her, he was a slave, forced into servitude to the humans as they saw fit. He had not asked for this, and neither had she. But, despite what either of them wanted, it was the will of the crowd, the humans, that had to be served.

Aiming to sever the carotid artery with her fangs, Mira dove at her opponent’s neck. His death would be quick. At least she could afford him that luxury.

It's Kickoff Day! Weekend Prize Pack! Fun-fun-fun! Lots of these~~~~>!!!!!

When I started writing a billion years ago (okay, 9) I never thought I'd know a lot of other writers. Let alone enough to fuel a 30 day prize extravaganza to celebrate my "birthday".

I'm so excited to have so many on board. And there were so many I couldn't ask because there are only so many days to play. But I feel very lucky to have 'met' so many great writers, editors, readers and friends. My online family is the bomb!

Now onto the non-mushy stuff. This is a simple month of fun. Every day there will be a "door prize" from one of my friends. Every time you comment here on the blog (*please leave your email addy in your comment so I can contact you if you win!) on their post you not only get a chance for that day's prize but your name goes in for a drawing for my final grand prize which will include, among other things, a $50 Amazon Gift Card from me.

Today I kick off with a small prize pack that I call the Weekend Prize Pack. Everything you could need to wile away the weekend. A copy of Violet Blue's most current Best Women's Erotica 2014 (not just for women, don't ya know), a mustache journal, some candles and some playing cards.

Might I suggest reading to one another from BWE '14 by candlelight and then journaling your encounter before a round of naked War or Bridge? No? Okay, well you can figure it out.

I'm so happy to kick off my birthday. Comment for a chance to win today's prize and to earn a chance for the grand prize. I've put other ways to earn EXTRA CHANCES at the bottom. Whenever you do any of those things your name goes in the pot. No matter how many you choose to do. Your chances to earn are unlimited!

Come back tomorrow for my guest Katie Salidas. She does vampires...among many, many other things. :)

XOXO
Sommer

Guest Blog: "I don't scare easily" by Lynn Townsend

Today I have Lynn Townsed aka KT Hicks on my blog. I learned a few things from reading this. I did some Googling. I'll never be the same. Heh. But while she's here today *I* promise to be gentle.

XOXO
Sommer
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My first time wasn't gentle.
(Oh, stop it, I wasn't talking about that.)
I grew up in the world before the Internet. (I also grew up in a household that didn't really believe in modern conveniences like VCRs, microwaves, disposals, dishwashers, etc... )Which might be why I was a freshman in college before I actually saw any porn. (If E.L. James had set her trilogy in the 1990s, I might find the whole virgin-college-student-never-exposed-to-porn more realistic.) I wasn't completely clueless; my bestie had given me a subscription to Playgirl as a "you're leaving home" present and I delighted in "reading it" very openly in my college dorm.
Somewhat related aside: While I wasn't a virgin by the time I got to college, a lot of my frosh hall was - and determined to stay that way. I remember walking through the hall at one point and heard Claire saying "Ew, you french kissed a BOY? How gross!" I stuck my head in the room and pointed out that I'd personally been kissing girls, too.
I... didn't fit in well.
In any case, the internet still didn't really exist for day-to-day student activity for another couple of years. (I remember days when you had to download a .gif - which could take up to an hour or more, depending on the resolution and your dial up speed.) The summer after my freshman year, I went to bed with this insanely good-looking dude who had all the stamina of your average college guy. Which was to say... it was disappointing.
As a consolation prize, we went into his living room and watched a porn video in our underthings.
You know, I went combing through the internet to get some pictures of Urotsukidoji "Legend of the Overfiend" and was reminded of just how hard core it is. So, look it up on tumblr if you want. I'll wait.
Back already?That was my first experience with porn, with hentai (that's a Japanese phrase that means hardcore porn), and with anime (Japanese or Japanese-inspired animation). It might not be surprising to you that I didn't watch any more for quite some time. (And then it was non-subtitled Akira...and that movie will blow your mind even with adequate translations!)
I did eventually become quite a bit more comfortable with the genre, both porn and hentai. (Trigger: Hentai tends to be rather rape-tastic and feature a lot of non-human genitalia because laws in Japan are just as weird as the ones in the states, they're just weird differently... )
So, fast forward about, six years, maybe. And I've still never read a romance novel or any erotica. I have been, however, writing sex scenes back and forth with my best friend - usually male-male, although we had a set of characters who were male-male-female. Talking about this with another friend led her to make a gift to me of Anne Rice's Beauty trilogy .
Still, the idea of writing my own erotica for consumption by someone else other than my friends, that took a while to grab hold of me.
Now that it has, however, I've been really busy writing more and more....
Sommer's delightful to host me for my first book release blog tour - I actually have three publications coming out in the next five weeks, starting with Roll that was released on Tuesday -
Blurb:A farm boy from Tennessee, Beau Watkins spent high school living the dream: the cute girl, the popular, jock lifestyle, a loving family. As a freshman at an out-of-state college, he's determined to find out who he really is behind the Fake It 'Til You Make It attitude. He joins Rainbow Connection, the gay student alliance, hoping to find himself. Instead, he finds Vin Reyes. Raised by his grandparents and heir to a prosperous company, Vin has been out of the closet since he figured out what that meant. He has it all: fashionable clothing, fancy cars, huge houses, a real party lifestyle, and even a bodyguard. Most of all, he has a secret.
Uncomfortable with Vin's generosity, Beau fights his growing attraction for the president of Rainbow Connection, chasing instead a series of shallow affairs. Vin's never been denied anything that he wants, though, and now he wants Beau. But it's not until an old rival puts Beau in the hospital that Vin realizes that Beau means more to him than a simple love affair. Can the two of them bridge the gap between their worlds and roll with the all the punches life will throw at them?
Buy Roll HERE
But that's only the beginning! On March 23rd, my best friend (yes, the one I wrote erotica with!) and I are putting out a collection of short stories, Whetting the Appetite
and then at the end of March, I have the first of my Urban Supernatural novels, Blood Sight, coming out...
Bio: Lynn Townsend is a geek, a dreamer and an inveterate punster. When not reading, writing, or editing, she can usually be found drinking coffee or killing video game villains. Lynn's interests include filk music, romance novels, octopuses, and movies with more FX than plot.
(okay, seriously, this talking in the third person about myself is just weird...)
My name is Kellylyn Townsend Stafford Hicks. K.T. is what my friends call me. Lynn Townsend is my writer's name. But they are all my "real" name. All of those names do, actually, belong to me. In addition, people have been known to refer to me as: Mom (my child, her teachers, and apparently every pediatrician ever. sigh.), Jayne, Tisfan, Tizzy, Kelly (certain family members who are older than I am and I would feel bad about smacking them senseless only), Shameless, and Spouse (husband only).
I grew up half in central Virginia, half in way-upstate New York. I went to college at William & Mary, where I met and later married a guy who grew up half in Kentucky and half in Utica, so while we're both a really weird mix of southern and northern, at least we understand each other. We have one child, one murder-death-cat, a turtle, and two chinchillas. I currently live in Chesapeake, Virginia, just along the Elizabeth River, where the phrase "drag your ass out into the swamp and leave you there" is not just an idle threat.
I am into random geekery, Cthulu, all things tentacular (squids, octopuses, Japanese hentai anime), cooking, reading, gaming (both paper & dice and MMOs), Sci-fi, Fantasy, good coffee, romance novels, flavored chapsticks, Hello Kitty, Squishables, Jane Austen, Lego's, Nathan Fillion, cop shows, cheese, zombies, chocolate, good beer, filk music, action movies, steampunk, funny cat pictures on Facebook, and the dancing mushrooms in Fantasia.
I am NOT into social conservatism, Game of Thrones, gatekeeping, first-person shooters, console games of any sort, tea, "chick lit" or anything endorsed by Oprah, long walks on the beach, pina coladas, fashion magazines, Bruce Campbell, James Bond, My Little Pony, Tom Cruise, or bagpipes.
Yay cover and oh, baby, stay tuned...
Don't quote me on this but I think this is the first "subjects facing the camera" cover for me. But I've had a lot of covers. So, like I said...don't quote me. #TheAccidentalCougar is a fun book and Willsin Rowe so managed to capture that in the cover. Yay cover!
And speaking of yays! Stay tuned because day after tomorrow kicks off my 9 years of Sommer celebration . Hope to see you there!
XOXO
Sommer
Oh so much done-ness over here...
in Sommer-land. That's right! Huzzah! I finished The Accidental Cougar. I love it so much that I can't help but hold my breath a little and hope you do too. Should be released from Excessica early April. I think once my beta readers have gotten a hold of this I'll be posting the first chapter as a preview for newsletter subscribers.
Not a subscriber? No prob. You can sign up right there~~~~~~~>
I promise I will not storm your inbox. I tend to update a few times a year. I'd wager a guess of less than once a month on average. Cross my heart and hope to fry.
Hope to see you there in my list! :)
XOXO
Sommer
18/19
So 19 years ago today we met. At a bar we both frequented regularly. We met in a bar. Isn't that a cliche? ;)
And then 18 years ago today this happened. If I have my way there'll be 18 more. Or 36. Or 54...
Happy Anniversary, baby.
XOXO
