Florida Gay Rights Activist Found Dead in a Landfill, Ryan Field Books
Florida Gay Rights Activist Found Dead in a Landfill
Although most stories lately from Florida are disturbing, this one is particularly bad and heartbreaking, too. Apparently, a gay rights activist who was important to legal gay marriage in Florida was found dead. They found his body in a landfill and it's being treated as a homicide.
Here's more. It's a very sad story and such a sad ending for someone who worked so hard for gay rights. I hope there's a follow-up. The rest of this article goes ...

Nobel Prize Winner Lech Walesa Slammed Gay People With Serious Hate Speech, Ryan Field books
Nobel Prize Winner Lech Walesa Slammed Gay People With Serious Hate Speach
This is when I have to question the Nobel Prize altogether. How could they give away a peace prize to someone who would make comments like this? It doesn't make sense, yet they do it all the time.
In short, Walesa said gay people have no right in prominent politics and they should stick to smaller things. He even said gay people should even sit on backbenches. And, he refused to apologize.
Here's more. This all dates back...
Scott Johnson and 1988 Gay Hate Murder, Ryan Field Books
Scott Johnson and 1988 Gay Hate Murder
This is a strange and sad story about a man who is now confessing to a 1988 gay hate murder. You would think cases like this would have been solved years ago.
For all these years, the death of Scott Johnson at a well-known gay cruising area had been ruled a suicide. But Johnson's family never believed it. In fact, Scott's older brother, Steve spent years trying to figure out how Scott died.
And now a guy named Scott White had finally confessed and pleaded g...

France Removes All Restrictions On Gay Blood Donors
Ever since the early days of AIDS, there have been restrictions placed on gay men who want to donate blood. There was a reason for these restrictions back then, but so much has changed in the last 40 years with AIDS and HIV these restrictions are not only outdated they are discriminatory.
With that said, France has decided to do away with all restrictions on Gay Blood Donors.
From 16 March, blood donation will be open to all French citizens reg...

States Watch Same Sex Marriage Protections, Ryan Field Books
States Watch Same-Sex Marriage Protections
A while back I remember reading an article about a lawmaker in Australia who was getting a lot of resistance because she wasn't ready to just push same-sex marriage forward. She wanted to make sure we were all legally protected forever with same-sex marriage so they could never take it away from us again. And she was right. The law is the only thing that can protect us.
With that said, some states are now looking into more protections for same-sex marri...

When Hollywood Studios Married Off Gay Stars To Pass Them As Straights, Ryan Field Gay Books
When Hollywood Studios Married Off Gay Stars To Pass them As Straights
I don't think this is a surprise to anyone. I think we're all familiar with the way they covered up Rock Hudson being gay. But there were a lot more. And I also think there are a few today. I could be wrong about this, but every time I look at Ryan Reynolds I see a cute little gay man pretending to be a straight. Only time will tell about that one. But you read it here first. And if he's not gay there's no shame anyway.
In an...

Gay High School Senior Censored by School Publication and That Time a Bad Realtor Censored Me, Ryan Field Books
Gay High School Senior Censored by School Publication and That Time a Bad Realtor Censored Me
First, there's no feeling worse than being censored. Thankfully, I've never been censored by any publisher I've worked with, but I was once censored by a realtor I worked with. She was awful. A loudmouth, pushy, sneaky, always in your face, and usually filled with wrong or bad advice. She gave me these pillows once to stage with and I looked at them and thought, "this is crap. I'm not putting it in my h...

Joe Bell the Movie and Straights Writing Gay Content, Ryan Field Books
Joe Bell the Movie and Straights Writing Gay Content
I'm not getting into a long story about this. I didn't hate the movie Joe Bell because I like and admire the story of Joe Bell and what he did. Mark Wahlberg also did a nice job playing the part of Joe Bell. Joe was the dad who walked cross country to raise awareness for bullying after his gay son was bullied in school. I even left a review for this movie, which I don't do often. It wasn't the worst film I've ever seen, but it could have been ...

European Court Declines Pro-Gay Marriage Cake Case, Ryan Field Books
European Court Declines Pro-Gay Marriage Cake Case
This is one of those stories where a baker decided they would not make a cake for a gay activist who wanted something especially gay written on the top of the cake. It's really a very harmless cake, too. All they wanted was the cake to be decorated with a Sesame Street theme with Bert and Ernie and writing that said, "Support Gay Marriage." That's it. No Tom of Finland photos.
It's a complicated, long-running case that seems to be frustrating a l...

A Wonderful Story about a Gay Nephew and His Gay Uncle, Ryan Field Books
A Wonderful Story About a Gay Nephew and His Gay Uncle
I was blessed in life with a gay nephew and a gay niece. They are brother and sister and I knew they were gay from the time they were kids. Of course, I never said a word about that to anyone. I knew they had to have time and space to come out on their own. And that's exactly what they did. They came out on their own terms when they were in college and my entire family accepted them. At the time, my mom actually said, "I knew it all along." ...
