RuPaul On Transphobic Terms; Forgive Teen Bullies? Harvey Milk Stamp

RuPaul On Transphobic Terms

After I posted about an incident on RuPaul's Drag Race with respect to transphobic terms some activists found highly offensive, I didn't see anything for a while...until now. As a result of what transpired, RuPaul's Drag Race will be changing things around, and they've issued a new statement promising not to use certain terms...with an apology.

We wanted to thank the community for sharing their concerns around a recent segment and the use of the term 'she-mail' on D...

Trevor Donovan Bermuda Tentacles; Anderson Cooper Twitter Attack; Gay Hating Russian Actor....Again

Trevor Donovan Bermuda Tentacles

Last Saturday night we watched two films. It's the first Saturday night we'd been home in a while, and might be the last for a while. So we rented a film and watched one on the SyFy channel. The rented film was August: Osage County, with Meryl Streep. The TV movie was Bermuda Tentacles with Trevor Donovan.

Both were good, but A:OC was dark. Literally darkly shot and dark in content. DARK. At one point I wanted someone to hit Meryl Streep's character ov...

Law School Bans Gays; Baggy Pants Hater

Law School Bans Gays

This is happening in Canada. A Christian law school is allegedly banning gays from going there. No one is going to be asked any direct questions when they apply...kind of a don't ask don't tell deal. But if it's discovered you are gay you're in deep shit.

The school's student handbook dictates that students must abstain from 'sexual intimacy that violates the sacredness of marriage between a man and a woman', and students can face disciplinary measures for violating the po...

Huckabee Questions President Obama; Conservative Gay Texts in UK

Huckabee Questions President Obama

For some reason, this week Arkansas Gov. Huckabee has been quoted more than once about gay marriage, always answering questions or stating views according to how the US right wing Christian bible belt views anything LGBT. The most recent I've read now question President Obama's "Christian convictions" because of Obama's recent support of gay marriage.

Huckabee said this about Obama's flip-flop on gay marriage:

"He said it was because o...

GLAAD Awards, Gay Marriage Fundraiser, The State of Marriage

GLAAD Awards, Gay Marriage Fundraiser, The State of Marriage

Tonight the GLAAD Awards are happening in LA, and you can sign up here to view it on a livestream. Among many of the people who will be there like Linda Bloodworth Thomason (Creator of TV show Designing Women), Jeff Kaufman who is producing Vermont: The State of Marriage will also be there tonight. The documentary he's making about gay marriage is hugely important to the LGBT community. And it needs all the support it can get. T...

Breaking Stereotypes: Gay Boxing; Grindr, Rape, Philly;

Breaking Stereotypes: Gay Boxing

There's a new boxing club in New York breaking old stereotypes called Velvet Gloves where gay men can work out in a very different way now, and meet people in the process. Here's an interview with Vance Garrett, the guy who started the club.

I’ve wanted to do something with and for my group of friends outside of the typical scene for a long time. All of us have been to the parties and clubs, and that can be great, but I think we collectively have wanted so...

Silver Publishing Leiland Dale; Streisand/Kramer Feud: The Normal Heart; Gay Hanky Code

Silver Publishing Leiland Dale

There's a very disturbing blog post written by M/M author, A.J. Llewellyn, about start up digital press, Silver Publishing. I know they publish a great deal of M/M Romance, and I think they've branched out into other genres as well. But the gist of the post I'm linking to now alleges so many things I think it's important for all newer authors to read.

I have updated and amended this blog to keep current. As of this moment, 4/11/14 the information is as accur...

Depp-Kimmel Gay Kiss; FREE Gay EXcerpt; Neil Patrick Harris on Letterman

Depp-Kimmel Gay Kiss

There was a kiss between Johnny Depp and Jimmy Kimmel a short time ago that everyone seemed to find amusing, and they repeated the kiss once again this week.

Johnny Depp kissed Jimmy Kimmel on live TV on Monday – the second time in a row that the pair have kissed during an appearance by Depp on the show.

Depp came prepared with a stick of lip balm which he repeatedly applied during the interview to let Kimmel know what was coming.

You can read about it here, and see a...

Shoe Thrown At Hillary; Trans Teacher Dumped; Andrew Sullivan on Colbert

Trans Teacher Dumped

Each time something like this happens it hurts, but I also think it brings us closer to a time in the future when it won't happen again. I'm talking about a transgender substitute teacher who was suspended simply for being a transgender after a parent called and complained.

The parent claimed having a transgender teacher in the classroom was an ‘unhealthy distraction’ for the 10- to 11-year-olds.

You can read the rest here.

There's a photo of the teacher at the l...

Palm Beach Stud; Hot Gay Couples/Brothers; Fred Karger Opens Up About Presidential Run

Palm Beach Stud

I think I've posted there are two more books in the Bad Boy Billionaire series, and this one, Palm Beach Stud, is next to the last. This one runs about 60,000 words and I found it hugely emotional to write. The last book in the series, Small Town Romance Writer, runs well over 100,000 words. I wanted it to be that long to end the series and to give readers that little something extra. And, just as important, the story line in that book seemed to call for more in-depth character...
