How Gay Bob Came To Be; Openly Gay In India and Running For Office; Bachelor Star Makes Out With Dude For First Time; The Rescuer by Ryan Field

How Gay Bob Came To Be

I remember when we used to pass a Gay Bob doll around at birthday parties in the 90s. It was funny, it was camp, and we thought of it as a novelty. But I never really knew anything about the history behind Gay Bob until now. Here's an article that goes into more detail about Gay Bob.

Well, was Gay Bob a toy, or a political statement? He was effectively both. “If girls and women could have Barbie, and heterosexual men could have Star Wars and G.I. Joe, why shouldn’t gay me...

The Circuit Party Isn't Dead Yet; Frank Ocean In A Three-Year Relationship; RuPaul and Annie Leibovitz Photo Shoot; The Rescuer by Ryan Field

The Circuit Party Isn't Dead Yet

At one time circuit parties were a huge part of gay culture. They've died down a lot in the last decade or so, but they aren't completely dead yet. Here's something about the Black Party XL in New York.

The Black Party in NYC is one of the most outrageous events of the social circuit, where thousands of people adorn themselves in fetish gear, luxurious costumes, or perhaps barely any clothing at all, and dance the night away like there is no concern for tomorrow...

Pete Buttigieg On Piano and Guitar

There's a great deal more to the 2020 presidential hopeful, Pete Buttigieg, than we know about. Evidently, music is one of his hobbies.

And Buttigieg’s musical skills are already being presented as a showing of broad relatability.

You can check this out, here. There's a video of him playing the piano that's gone viral and he's actually pretty good.

I like everything about him so far, and it's not just because he'd gay.

Pete Buttigieg Launches Presidential Campaign

This is history in the making. Pete Buttigieg and his husband, Chasten, just officially announced that Pete's running for President of the United States.

The candidate, who formed an exploratory committee for his Presidential bid in January, formally launched his campaign on Sunday (April 14) in South Bend.

You can check it out, here. I don't think Will or his Grace could have predicted anything like this in 2020. The article goes...

Special's Ryan O'Connell Is Casting Gay Men In Gay Roles

I know many straight people don't like to hear this, and some gay people as well. They will tell you, "it's just acting," and then repeat, "it's just acting." Then they will splain why is doesn't matter if straight actors play gay face. Some will tell you they don't like "labels." I've heard it all by now. However, I'm also seeing younger gay artists speak up on this topic.

Ryan O'Connell is the creator of a smart new TV show on Netflix t...

Why I LOVE Netflix's 'Special' with Ryan O'Connell and Why I Loathed 'Call Me By Your Name'; Gay Guys' Grindr Horror Stories; Gay In rural America Up 5%

Why I LOVE Netflix's 'Special' with Ryan O'Connell and Why I Loathed 'Call Me by Your Name'

Special is a smart, wonderful new TV show on Netflix about a young gay man with a disability. It focuses on the daily challenges he faces, and what it's like to be gay and disabled. I saw the first episode last night and I liked it.  I will watch more. I love the writing, the characters, and even the story line. I can't say a single negative thing about it. Most of all, it is authentic. And a...

Straight Guys On Grindr To Meet Trans Women; Pete Buttigieg Is Now 3rd In Poll; Gus Kenworthy and Filthy Jokes; The Rescuer by Ryan Field

Straight Guys On Grindr To Meet Trans Women

The only thing I ever knew about Grindr is that gay men go there to meet men for hook ups. But there's an interesting twist now, at least according to this article. Straight guys are heading over to Grindr to meet trans women and they are posting things like "No men," and, "No guys," on their profiles.

But this is not without controversy.

“To read ‘no homos’ or ‘no men’ on a gay male app is troubling,” he says. “To have trans women hitting on me — when...

Grease Prequel Divides Twitter; Mike Pence Replies to Pete Buttigieg; The Rescuer by Ryan Field FREE Gay Excerpt

Grease Prequel Divides Twitter

The play/movie Grease is going to have a prequel, and when this was announced there were a few different viewpoints on Twitter. I saw many of them and I didn't get into the conversation. I've always believed that if something is done right there's no harm. With that said, it's never easy to mimic something that's become a classic in its own right. Grease 2 never lived up to the expectations people had for it.

The prequel is rumored to be about the summer Danny and...

John F. Kennedy Jr. and George Magazine 20 Years Later

When I was just out of college and starting to get short stories published in gay presses like Alyson Books back in the 90s, I was a huge fan of George Magazine. It was the first magazine that had come along that was different from all the rest. It had its own voice and personality. Anyone who worked in any area of publishing was fascinated by it. I wish I'd had the foresight to save a few copies.

Of course back then the Internet was very y...

Taron Egerton and Gay Baiting; Serious Homophobic Attack In London; He Attacked Gay Man And Bragged About It Online; The Rescuer by Ryan Field

Taron Egerton and Gay Baiting

This reminds me of Nick Jonas a few years ago. Taron Egerton is playing gayface in an upcoming movie about Elton John and the public relations machines have been all over this in gay circles. In their quest to promote a straight actor playing gay, they're targeting gay men with more bait than I've seen in a long time. This one is all about how dear gay loving Taron just loves to go to gay bars.

“I always felt more at home in a gay club than at a football match, far...
