How to Make a Book Trailer

How to Make a Book Trailer By H.E. Roulo

A still shot from the book trailer for Plague Master 1, but you don’t need to be afraid–book trailers are fun!

I have had recent experience making two book trailers, so I’m not an expert, but I thought that other newcomers might benefit from the research I had to do and go straight to practical steps.

This isn’t the only way to do it. It probably isn’t the best way to do it. What I can tell you, is that it will get you a trailer at a minimal cost and...

Book Trailer for Plague Master: Sanctuary Dome (book 1)

I get it. Perhaps you didn’t read Plague Master: Sanctuary Dome when it came out. It’s understandable–you can’t be everywhere and do everything. Even for those of you who read it, it might have been a while. Perhaps you have it mixed up in your memory with all the other dystopian sci-fi zombie books you’ve been reading.

With that in mind, I’ve thrown together a quick book trailer for Plague Master: Sanctuary Dome, the first book in the Plague Master series.

The book trailer for Plague Master...

Angels Don’t Fear Heights Excerpt

The release of HorrorAddicts.net’s future-horror anthology went well. The book is out. If you’re interested, I’m sure they’d love more reviews on Amazon.

An excerpt of my short story, “Angels Don’t Fear Heights,” was featured on Haunt Jaunts.

In “Angels Don’t Fear Height,” Gabriella’s father dies but his wealth and technology allow him to run instances of himself, briefly possessing other people. Gabriella is determined that his control over her life must not continue from beyond the grave.

H.E. Roulo End of Year Update

As we approach the end of 2018 and look toward the new year, I’m excited at my upcoming projects.

I continue to work for a small non-fiction magazine. Fortunately, the job still allows time for fiction writing as well.

My short story “Angels Don’t Fear Heights” has been selected to appear in the Kill Switch anthology next year. The anthology is described as near-future sci-fi horror, somewhat like the Black Mirror Netflix series.

In “Angels Don’t Fear Height,” Gabriella’s father dies but his...

Crescendo of Darkness Excerpt

Music has the power to soothe the soul, drive people to obsession, and soundtrack evil plots. Is music the instigator of madness, or the key that unhinges the psychosis within? From guitar lessons in a graveyard and a baby allergic to music, to an infectious homicidal demo and melancholy tunes in a haunted lighthouse, Crescendo of Darkness will quench your thirst for horrifying audio fiction.

HorrorAddicts.net is proud to present fourteen tales of murderous music, demonic performers, and curs...

Diabolical Plots: The First Years

I’m in a new anthology Diabolical Plots: The First Years edited by David Steffen.

When I first submitted to them, Diabolical Plots was a fledgling market on the rise. They quickly selected my story to appear in July 2015. It was their fifth story. I’m thrilled to see this collection and be part of their success.

Isn’t the cover beautiful? That’s an image from my story, “Not a Bird.” The story describes a weary mother and her feathered newborn. It touches on the hopes, wishes, and weight of pa...
