All Stirred Up – Now Available at MLR Press
My latest novella, All Stirred Up is available at MLR Press!
Here's the blurb:
After Brendan and his mother witness a completely random tragedy, his carefully controlled life begins to fall apart. First he starts having nightmares and panic attacks, and then he loses focus in his daily life. His board of directors insists he take a vacation at a so-called "relaxation destination" and to make matters worse, they've hired newly minted psychiatrist, Dr. Dirk Melovitch, to accompany him.
Dirk, whose job it is to help Brendan learn to relax, walks into the lobby of Brendan's hotel wearing a borrowed suit and an attitude that rubs Brendan the wrong way from the moment they meet. They head for the airport and their carefully planned itinerary goes out the window, one small setback at a time.
From the airports of New York and Atlanta, to the long, lonely highways of Texas, to an upscale rehab destination in Santa Fe, Brendan and Dirk each try to gain the upper hand until both find out that it's not just life that can get a guy All Stirred Up.

Who's Serving Up More Trouble?
I am! I just got the cover art from MLR Press for All Stirred Up, the second half of the Stirring stories. The first book, Stirring Up Trouble, featured Toby and Evan, Chefs who manage to cook up the perfect recipe for love.
The second book features Evan's twin brother Brendan as he reels from PTSD, only to find the proposed cure — in the form of psychiatrist Dr. Dirk Melovitch, MD and a stay in an upscale rehab center — might be worse than the disease.

Viki Lyn's Free Read At TMDRA Tomorrow!
Viki Lyn's short story free read will go live tomorrow!
Be sure and tune in!
When I found out that our first free read would be based on a song, I wanted to choose a song performed by a gay artist. I love Whataya Want From Me sung by Adam Lambert – angst filled and emotional. My story is about two men who didn't get it right the first time around. It was a challenge to write a short story so I hope you enjoy peeking into the lives of Max and Rafe.

An meddlesome sister, an ex-lover and a whole lot of trouble.
Rated: Adult 18+: love expressed between two men and some mild swearing

What's better than going to RT and meeting all your favorite authors in person? Staying at home and having conference swag delivered right to your door!
I will have a few Z.A. Maxfield promotional items left over when I get home, including T-shirts, tote bags, trading cards, and post cards, and I'll be holding a drawing to give them away to friends and followers who weren't able to attend the conference. Terrific Review
There are some reviewers I read because they have such a love of books and a passion for the subject that their information is always useful to me. Elisa Rolle, as I have mentioned before, is one of those. I get a LOT of my books based on Elisa's recommendations. I always enjoy her reviews and ramblings as she calls them. I've had the privilege of meeting her, and she is every bit as terrific in person as she is on her blog. The only thing I can't figure out is where she gets the time it must take to pursue blogging about romance as well and in as much depth as she does.
At any rate, she reviewed my very first novel and it's been a thrill to find myself on her site every time. This time, she reviewed Stirring Up Trouble, the MLR Press comedy novella, which is good timing since I'm just finishing up edits on All Stirred Up, the companion piece to that book. In fact, I'll be announcing the release date of All Stirred Up shortly, so stay tuned!
A special note to readers attending the Romantic Times Convention in Los Angeles this week, April 5-10: I have very a limited number of Stirring Up Trouble T-shirts, (among other cool things) that I'll be giving away at Club RT on Wednesday at 1:30 and on Friday at 2:45. That's a special opportunity for me to meet and greet readers and fellow authors, so don't miss out! Be sure to stop by for a chat and a chance to pick up some of the swag I've been stockpiling. I'll be signing at Book Expo on Friday afternoon and also at the big book fair on Saturday. If you're at the convention, you should definitely stop by and say hello. I'll look forward to seeing you all there!
If you can't make it to the convention, never fear! Stay tuned for contest opportunities this week! I'll be posting on and off, giving the rest of the readers a chance!
Among other things, Elisa says in her review:
There is a thing to be said, writing a good comedy it's probably more difficult than writing any other genre; comedy has a perfect balance, it's not too much to be comic, it's not too few to be simply fiction. With Stirring Up Trouble Z.A. Maxfield has given us a perfect example of classy comedy.

Are you ready for some trading cards?
Pretty soon, I'll be at RT, the Romantic Times convention. While I'm there I'll be wandering around, hiding from the intense crowds, and talking to people I haven't seen for a while. I'll also be signing books and spending time in Club RT, plus I'll be giving out some swag, including T-shirts, mugs, and now…. TADA! Trading cards. The lovely and talented Lex Valentine has been kind enough to design some St. Nacho's trading cards and I'm looking forward to handing them out.
Here's a sneak preview of the very first in the series, St. Nacho's musician Cooper Wyatt.

And The T-Shirt Winner Is…
I just want to say I'm sorry it took me unil this took me until this morning to do this, I lost my internet for some reason last night, or rather, it was spotty off and on, even while I was on the phone doing that podcast, which unnerved me anyway. I fought with it for a while, but finally gave up and (authors have no lives) fell asleep…
Sorry I'm late to announce the winner, but the T-shirt Goes to…
Lilygcs!
I'll be dropping you an email so you can tell me where to send it!
Thanks to everyone for participating,
May your year be filled with love until next Valentine's Day…
