Leadership History Lesson for February 23rd
On this day in leadership history in 1792, the Humane Society of Massachusetts was incorporated. It was founded by a group of Boston citizens who were concerned about the needless deaths resulting from shipwrecks and drownings and wanted to find ways to save lives.
Whats the leadership lesson? Honorable leaders find a need and fill a need! What needs do you see that need help?

3 Quick Ways to Connect with Others in Genuine Way
Connecting and showing care for others can produce ever-increasing and powerful results. And practically speaking, the more rays of love that adults receive at home and at work, the more secure they will be. And the more secure they are, the more confident and humble they will be and the better they will perform, and the longer they will stay with their team.
In my leadership books, I typically dont talk about love in a direct way. Instead, I encourage leaders to connect with the hearts of their people. Here are some very practical yet genuine ways to do it
Accept and let them know you care about them.
– Treat them like they are special and important.
– Smile and greet them.
– Encourage them with positive feedback.
Let them know that you believe in them.
– Ask them for their input and listen to them.
– Identify and focus on their natural talents.
– Remember they likely have talents that are different from yours.
– Help them develop their talents and use them more at work.
Lead with a positive influence in professional (and personal relationships). Pause to think about specific people and consider their talents. Then look for times and places where you can encourage and lift them up and free them to be all they can be.
Lets all coach ourselves to connect with the heart every day.
