Doesn’t anybody believe me?“–Dorothy

Of course we believe you, Dorothy…“–Uncle Henry  (from the 1937 film The Wizard of Oz)

Is reality really real?

As Dorothy discovered when she returned back to Kansas, her friends and family did not agree that the Land of Oz was “reality”.

Conversely, gaining agreement from one’s friends does not guarantee that the information agreed upon is true or workable or survival. Agreement is not necessarily reality. Although Man seems to crave agreement with his fellows, the fact that “everyone agrees that the world is flat” or that “the sun revolves around the Earth”, does not make it a reality. The Oz Factors cover

History has shown that agreements among people have very frequently proven to be disastrous.

Example: Adolph Hitler gained the complete, unabated agreement of the majority of the German population before he led them into total self-destruction.

Lots of people agree when fast food franchise advertisements tell them that cheeseburgers, fries and milk shakes are good for them. We were, and still are, told, based on “medical research” that these foods contain nutrients from all the “four basic food groups”. This doesn’t change the fact that you get fat, develop hardened arteries and die an early death from heart disease or cancer if you keep eating cheeseburgers, fries and shakes.

Oz Factors_LULUThe unprecedented multi-billion dollar profit margins earned by the beef and dairy industry and sugar growers in cooperation with the fast food restaurant cartels have a heavy influence on “truth in advertising”. In addition, the quality of information we receive, as consumers, from the American Medical Association regarding “the science of nutrition” is directly influenced by fast food commercial interests.

Only one generation ago the Japanese people were nearly free of heart disease and cancer. In just 20 short years, since they have openly adopted the Standard American Diet (SAD)–cheeseburgers/French fries/milk shakes and liquid caffeine-filled sugar water called cola–the incidence of heart disease and cancer among the Japanese people has skyrocketed. The Japanese agreement with Western lifestyles is killing them.

Reality is often heavily influenced by the Oz Factor of agreement. Agreements influence our perception of reality. A child’s perception of his environment, his religious and political ideas and viewpoints about people are often heavily influenced by agreement with his mother and father.

Be cautious with whom you agree. Carefully examine ideas and information before you agree. Just because the preacher says, “sex is evil” or the President says, “I’m not a crook”, does not make it reality.  Be careful about agreeing with Wicked Witches and Wizards who promote unworkable solutions. By your own observation decide what is real in the Physical Universe and in Your Own Universe.  Your reality is based on your agreements.”

ROME BEFORE and AFTER THE FALL

Republished by Blog Post Promoter

A VIDEO REANIMATION OF THE CITY OF ROME BEFORE IT COLLAPSED AND DECAYED:

THE CITY OF ROME AFTER THE FALL:

“THE DECLINE AND FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE” by Edward Gibbon

Last year I listened to the Audible.com (unabridged version) reading of the truly excellent book by the preeminent historian, Edward Gibbon.  I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who has any interest in the affairs of civilization, survival, life and death on planet Earth.

Gibbons account of the history of the The Roman Empire is a birds-eye-view-fly-over of a thousand years of Western Culture.  Roman culture is the very same culture being used today, especially in the U.S. and Europe.  Only the names and dates, and some of the language, have been changed to protect the guilty persons who brought Rome to its knees.  Those guilty persons are the same people who are bringing Western culture to an end: you and me.

The reasons the Roman Empire decayed are the same reasons that our current culture has decayed: Greed, Stupidity of the People, Superstition, Personal Irresponsibility, Corruption of The Military /Industrial / Congressional Complex by the Bankers who financed the entire calamity for personal financial gain.

The book is long, but so was the Roman Empire, at least in comparison to other civilizations that have risen and collapsed in only a few hundred years, such as the British Empire, The Soviet Empire, The German Empire and currently, the American Empire.  Read it and weep!  At least you may be able to make a little more sense out of the abysmal nonsense you see happening around you every day.

May The Gods Save Us From Ourselves!

ALONE AND BORED: SATURDAY NIGHT MUSING

Republished by Blog Post Promoter

It’s not easy to say what I really think about Life in this Universe.  It’s complicated.  It’s a Love / Hate relationship. The random, unpredictable drama of it is entertaining, amusing and terrifying.  I love the sensual scenery on Earth and the impassioned sensations of sex.  I hate pain, lies, stupidity and injustice.  The wonder and mystery of an endlessly starry night is a facade of pretended majesty.  The sounds of soft, subtle jazz are sublime.  A trusted companion is comforting.  Ice cream is irresistible.  The blissful buzz of booze is bemusing. I am enamored with the innocent insouciance of animals.  Life Forms are reflections of The Divine Essence of Life.

Yet, I detest greed and the callous brutality of possessions.  I would love to love this universe.  But, it’s not my universe.  It’s not the universe I would create if I could create my own. It is full of recycled pain and dying and death. Agony, mystery and ignorance are everywhere. There are no real angels or faeries here. No honor. No Integrity. No Justice. No Mercy. No Poetic Magic. This universe in impassive and intolerant of nonsensically nonsequitur nonsense.

This universe is frozen, dark, impartial vacuum dotted with incandescent infernos of light-emitting balls of eternally burning gases!  Sprinkled, intermittently, throughout are gaseous clouds of radioactive poison and icy balls of rock.  It swirls and grows relentlessly in an eternally timeless now of revolving, random rotation. It is not me. It is not mine. I can’t own it and I don’t want it.  Yet, I can’t leave it behind!  (as far as I know, I’m stuck here….)

Does it have a purpose and destiny?  Does it know that I exist?  Does it care?

No. It does not.

I am a Nothingness of Thought.  I’m not from here. I didn’t begin anywhere. I am not a Thing. I Am Endlessly Emitting Emotions, Ideas, Compassion and Creative Notions.

I am Universes Apart from this universe.  Universes apart.

In My Own Universe I Am what I dream: Sensual, Dramatic, Comic.  I AM.  Motionless.  Curious. Playful. Joyful. Pleased with my Own Existence.  I Create. I Change. I Destroy, or not, at My Whim. I Am My Universe in My Universe.  You’re welcome to share it with me, as long as you Admire My Creations.  I’d like to Admire Yours too.  More than anything, I don’t like being Alone and Bored.

WHY WEED WON’T BE LEGAL IN THE U.S.

Republished by Blog Post Promoter

“Reality” is regulated by vested interests who seek personal gain to the detriment of the greater good.Definition: Vested Interest — 1/ a survival or non-survival plan or agenda which has been “clothed” to make it seem like something other than what it actually is; 2/ any person, group or entity which prevents or controls communication to serve their own purposes.”  — THE OZ FACTORS, by Lawrence R. Spencer

____________________________

I don’t smoke weed, but it seems like almost everyone uses something to ease the mental and/or physical pains of living.   However, for the same reasons that Free Energy, a technology developed by Nikola Tesla more than 100 years ago,  Marijuana — an obviously superior alternative to pills and booze — will never become a legalized form of pain relief in the United States.  This reason is very simple:  MONEY.

DRUG, BEER, WINE AND DISTILLED SPIRITS COMPANIES MAKE REALLY BIG MONEY.

THESE VESTED INTEREST HIRE LOBBYISTS TO BUY OFF POLITICIANS.

POLITICIANS PASS LAWS TO FILL THEIR PERSONAL CHECKING ACCOUNTS.

COPS AND PRISONS MAKE BIG BUCKS ENFORCING THE PROHIBITION LAWS AGAINST COMPETITORS: STREET DRUGS

The TOP 5 ANTI-Weed Lobby Groups in the U.S. —

1.) Police Unions: Police departments across the country have become dependent on federal drug war grants to finance their budget. In March, a police union lobbyist in California coordinated the effort to defeat Prop 19, a ballot measure in 2010 to legalize marijuana, while helping his police department clients collect tens of millions in federal marijuana-eradication grants. And it’s not just in California. Federal lobbying disclosures show that other police union lobbyists have pushed for stiffer penalties for marijuana-related crimes nationwide.

2.) Private Prisons Corporations: Private prison corporations make millions by incarcerating people who have been imprisoned for drug crimes, including marijuana. As Republic Report’s Matt Stoller noted last year, Corrections Corporation of America, one of the largest for-profit prison companies, revealed in a regulatory filing that continuing the drug war is part in parcel to their business strategy. Prison companies have spent millions bankrolling pro-drug war politicians and have used secretive front groups, like the American Legislative Exchange Council, to pass harsh sentencing requirements for drug crimes.

3.) Alcohol and Beer Companies: Fearing competition for the dollars Americans spend on leisure, alcohol and tobacco interests have lobbied to keep marijuana out of reach. For instance, the California Beer & Beverage Distributors contributed campaign contributions to a committee set up to prevent marijuana from being legalized and taxed.

4.) Pharmaceutical Corporations: Like the sin industries listed above, pharmaceutical interests would like to keep marijuana illegal so American don’t have the option of cheap medical alternatives to their products. Howard Wooldridge, a retired police officer who now lobbies the government to relax marijuana prohibition laws, told Republic Report that next to police unions, the “second biggest opponent on Capitol Hill is big PhRMA” because marijuana can replace “everything from Advil to Vicodin and other expensive pills.”

5.) Prison Guard Unions: Prison guard unions have a vested interest in keeping people behind bars just like for-profit prison companies. In 2008, the California Correctional Peace Officers Association spent a whopping $1 million to defeat a measure that would have “reduced sentences and parole times for nonviolent drug offenders while emphasizing drug treatment over prison.”

WHO IS MAKING THE BIG BUCKS?

Global pharmaceutical sales are expected to grow by 5% to 7% in 2011 to around $880 billion, compared with a rise of 4% to 5% this year, thanks to robust growth in emerging markets, especially China, as well as new innovative treatments, according to IMS Health. The US prescription pharmaceutical sales were valued at 279 billion USD in 2009, with an annual growth rate of 5.5 % between 2008 and 2009.

TAXES:  The beverage alcohol industry contributed over $21 billion directly to state and local revenues during 2009. Of that amount, distilled spirits accounted for over $8.5 billion or 41% of this direct revenue.  In 2009, beverage alcohol’s total contribution to state and local revenues was over $40 billion. Of that amount, $19.7 billion came from indirect revenues such as corporate, personal income, property and other taxes generated by the beverage alcohol industry.

Total revenues from distilled spirits (direct and indirect) were $15.1 billion in 2009, or 37% of total beverage alcohol revenue.

A Heavy Tax Burden:  Distilled spirits are one of the highest taxed consumer products in the United States.

Total U.S. beer sales rose two percent in 2011, to $98.94 billion, largely on strength in demand for craft, imported and premium beer, according to statistics from the Beer Institute.

Estimated retail value of WINE SALES was $30 billion, up 4% from 2009. Wines from California accounted for a 61% volume share of the U.S. wine market, with sales of nearly 200 million cases, up 1% from the previous year.

WEED REVENUE:

By comparison, the U.S. medical marijuana market will reach $1.7 billion in sales this year, according to a report by See Change Strategy LLC.

Compared to drugs, alcohol, beer and wine sales revenue, prisons and police budgets and state and federal tax collections this is Peanuts! Chicken feed. Chump change.  The fact is that marijuana marketers in the US just can’t afford to compete in the “Free Market Economy” of the United States.

A BEST FRIEND

Republished by Blog Post Promoter

FRIENDLY ADVICEThe older my body gets (almost 70) I become more aware of the ancient adage: “Life is short”.  Indeed, it seems so.  What is a single lifetime in the order of the cosmos?  Less than a blink of an eye .  Through eternity there is only one companion, as far as I know.  Yourself.  If we find being alone difficult, without friends, we may have a very long time to endure existence without others to keep us distracted from ourselves in the “great beyond”, whatever that may be.  So, being our own best friend makes good sense.
