This is the finest space opera television series ever produced. Period. I’ve watched every episode from all 5 seasons 3 times. Either I’m a lunatic, or I don’t have a life, or both. Whatever. However, I must reiterate the observation made by the writers of the series about the extermination of the human race as a result of creating weapons it cannot control: “THIS HAS ALL HAPPENED BEFORE AND IT WILL ALL HAPPEN AGAIN.”

CHILDREN REMEMBER WHO THEY ARE: PAST LIFE MURDERS SOLVED
A 3-year-old boy in the Golan Heights region near the border of Syria and Israel said he was murdered with an axe in his previous life. He showed village elders where the murderer buried his body, and sure enough they found a man’s skeleton there. He also showed the elders where the murder weapon was found, and upon digging, they did indeed found an axe there.
In his book, “Children Who Have Lived Before: Reincarnation Today,” German therapist Trutz Hardo tells this boy’s story, along with other stories of children who seem to remember their past lives with verified accuracy. The boy’s story was witnessed by Dr. Eli Lasch, who is best known for developing the medical system in Gaza as part of an Israeli government operation in the 1960s. Dr. Lasch, who died in 2009, had recounted these astounding events to Hardo.
The boy was of the Druze ethnic group, and in his culture the existence of reincarnation is accepted as fact. His story nonetheless had the power to surprise his community.
He was born with a long, red birthmark on his head. The Druse believe, as some other cultures do, that birthmarks are related to past-life deaths. When the boy was old enough to talk, he told his family he had been killed by a blow to the head with an axe.
It is customary for elders to take a child at the age of 3 to the home of his previous life if he remembers it. The boy knew the village he was from, so they went there. When they arrived in the village, the boy remembered the name he had in his past life.
A village local said the man the boy claimed to be the reincarnation of had gone missing four years earlier. His friends and family thought he may have strayed into hostile territory nearby as sometimes happens.
The boy also remembered the full name of his killer. When he confronted this man, the alleged killer’s face turned white, Lasch told Hardo, but he did not admit to murder. The boy then said he could take the elders to where the body was buried. In that very spot, they found a man’s skeleton with a wound to the head that corresponded to the boy’s birthmark. They also found the axe, the murder weapon.
Faced with this evidence, the murderer admitted to the crime. Dr. Lasch, the only non-Druze, was present through this whole process.

William Walker Atkinson (December 5, 1862 – November 22, 1932) was an attorney, merchant, publisher, and author, as well as an occultist and an American pioneer of the New Thought movement. He is also known to have been the author of the pseudonymous works attributed to Theron Q. Dumont and Yogi Ramacharaka. Due in part to Atkinson’s intense personal secrecy and extensive use of pseudonyms, he is now largely forgotten, despite having written more than 100 books in the last 30 years of his life. His works have remained in print more or less continuously since 1900.

UFO CONTROL SYSTEM
In The Invisible College (E.P. Dutton, 1975) Vallee posits the idea of a “control system.” UFOs and related phenomena are “the means through which man’s concepts are being rearranged.” Their ultimate source may be unknowable, at least at this stage of human development; what we do know, according to Vallee, is that they are presenting us with continually recurring “absurd” messages and appearances which defy rational analysis but which nonetheless address human beings on the level of myth and imagination.
“When I speak of a control system for planet earth,” he says, ” I do not want my words to be misunderstood: I do not mean that some higher order of beings has locked us inside the constraints of a space-bound jail, closely monitored by psychic entities we might call angels or demons. I do not propose to redefine God. What I do mean is that mythology rules at a level of our social reality over which normal political and intellectual action has no power….”
The following are excerpts from an interview with Dr. Jacques Vallee, famed UFO investigator, author, computer scientist and humanitarian, with Jerome Clark, published in FATE Magazine, 1978. The title of the interview is “Jacques Vallee Discusses UFO Control System“.

Vallee: “If the UFO phenomenon had no physical cause at all, there would be no way for us to perceive it because human beings are physical entities. So it has to make an impression on our senses somehow. For that to take place, it has to be physical at some time.
Clark: So in other words there is such a thing as a solid, three-dimensional flying saucer.
Vallee: No, I didn’t say that. That may or may not be true. I don’t think there is such a thing as the flying saucer phenomenon. I think it has three components and we have to deal with them in different ways.
First, there is a physical object. That may be a flying saucer or it may be a projection or it may be something entirely different. All we know about it is that it represents a tremendous quantity of electromagnetic energy in a small volume. I say that based upon the evidence gathered from traces, from electromagnetic and radar detection and from perturbations of the electromagnetic fields such as Dr. Claude Poher, the French space scientist, has recorded.
Second, there’s the phenomenon the witnesses perceive. What they tell us is that they’ve seen a flying saucer. Now they may have seen that or they may have seen an image of a flying saucer or they may have hallucinated it under the influence of microwave radiation, or any of a number of things may have happened. The fact is that the witnesses were exposed to an event and as a result they experienced a highly complex alteration of perception which caused them to describe the object or objects that figure in their testimony.
Beyond there – the physical phenomenon and the perception phenomenon – we have the third component, the social phenomenon. That’s what happens when the reports are submitted to society and enter the cultural arena. That’s the part which I find most interesting.
The occurrences of similar “absurd” messages in UFO cases brought me to the idea that maybe we’re dealing with a sort of control system that is subtly manipulating human consciousness.
Clark: But how do you prove that one is operating in a UFO context?
Vallee: I’ve always been unhappy with the argument between those who believe UFOs are nonsense and those who believe they are extraterrestrial visitors. I don’t think I belong in either camp. I’ve tried to place myself between those two extremes because there’s no proof that either proposition is correct. I’ve come up with the control system concept because it is an idea which can be tested. In that sense it’s much closer to a scientific hypothesis than the others. It may turn out that there is a control system which is operated by extraterrestrials. But that’s only one possibility.
There are different kinds of control systems – open ones and closed ones – and there are tests you can apply to them to find out what kind of control system you’re inside. That leads to a number of experiments you can do with the UFO phenomenon, whereas the other interpretations don’t lead you to anything. If you’re convinced that UFOs are extraterrestrial, then about the only thing you can do is to climb to a hilltop with a flashlight and send a message in Morse code. People have tried that, I know, but it doesn’t seem to work very will!
The control system concept can be tested by a small group of people – you don’t need a large organization or a lot of equipment – and you can start thinking about active intervention in the phenomenon.
Clark: How could I prove to my satisfaction that there is a control system in operations?
Vallee: If you think you’re inside a control system, the first thing you have to look for is what is being controlled and try to change it to see what happens.”

(NYSE:MCD – news) said Charlie Bell, who stepped down as the fast-food chain’s chief executive in November to focus on his battle with cancer, died on Monday in his hometown of Sydney, Australia. Bell, 44, died at about 7:30 a.m. (1530 EST), said a company spokeswoman in Sydney. It was at a McDonald’s restaurant in Sydney that Bell, whose personal motto was “Life is not a rehearsal, ” began his career with the chain at the age of 15. A charismatic leader who said he ate a McDonald’s product most days, Bell was diagnosed with colorectal cancer just weeks after being named to the company’s top job in April. He underwent two surgeries and chemotherapy, delegating authority to other senior executives, before relinquishing the post in November to undergo more intensive treatment. The company’s first non-American CEO, Bell had succeeded Jim Cantalupo, who died suddenly of a heart attack after a little more than a year on the job. He was the company’s first CEO to have worked behind the counter since Fred Turner, who retired in 1987.”

Personally, I think the Lensman Series written by E.E. “Doc” Smith during the 1930s and 1940s is the preeminent series of science fiction books ever published. These books were the genesis of what became knows as “space opera”. His books describe fictional events that occurred billions of years ago, and were the inspiration for Star Wars and a lot of science fiction that attempted to emulate his groundbreaking ideas. (“a long time ago, in a galaxy far away…”). The heroes and villains of his stories have “supernatural” spiritual powers and abilities which we attribute to “super-heroes” in modern literature. Doc Smith originated the concept of super-light-speeds, intergalactic travel, hyper-spacial tubes, vortexes of force, alien planets, intelligent anaerobic life forms, and “technobabble” — that is based more in fact than fantasy. The Lens, created by the progenitors of Humanity and Civilization (a race of disembodied entities know as the Arisians) purveyed the ability of telepathic communication and mental powers with the force to penetrate matter, kill, and conquer the enemies of Humanity (the Edorians). These novels are the ultimate “good guys vs bad guys” science-fiction action-adventure stories based in spiritual insights never matched by any other writers.
However, there are NO beings in any other literature I have read — before the 1930s or since — that are comparable: they are insuperable! If you have not read these books, I encourage you to indulge yourself in the greatest science fiction ever written!
