some of my 2013 Convention sketches

I thought I'd finally post some of the MANY convention sketches/sketch covers I've done so far this year! I'll post more in the coming days :)

I really only get to take a quick photo of these in a hotel room... so no nice scans. Sorry! 

 

Toronto FanExpo exclusive My Little Pony #10 cover!

 

Enjoy this cover I did as an exclusive for Toronto's FanExpo this month! The voices of Twilight, Pinkie and Spike will be there, so they wanted them on the cover :) The sepia tint isn't showing up well here, I hope it does better with the printing! 

 

The moose was not allowed to have a cutie mark. Moose apparently do not have a special talent for anything besides being a moose.

San Deigo Comic Con is NEXT WEEK. 

I am in a NEW spot in artists alley this year, one where we are hoping we can control the mini painting line a bit better! (Last year was bonkers!)

I will be at table HH-17. I'll have a banner with my name on it, so look for it! 

I will have prints, a few exclusive MLP prints (limited to 40 each!), original artwork, the F--k You, Box cat book, ABCDEF-You cat book, Gronk volumes 1-3 and MORE up for sale... and, of course my $5 mini paintings! Pre-painted and custom. 

 

I will be doing a SMALL number of larger commissions each day except Sunday. I will take a commission list for the larger pieces every morning... those are for pick-up the NEXT day. I will be unable to draw them at the show. I will work on them in the hotel room at night. The list fills up FAST, so get there EARLY!

 Some of the biggest "kids" in comics discuss the current state of the industry and what steps are necessary for comics to secure a place in the hearts and minds of the next generation. What are the benefits and challenges involved in writing all-ages comics? How are licensed comics playing a role in our future? How might webcomics, digital publishing, emerging technologies, and self-publishing change the landscape? And how can we ensure that more young readers today become readers for life? Panelists include Andy Runton (Owly), David Petersen (Mouse Guard), Katie Cook (My Little Pony), Mike Kunkel (Herobear and the Kid), Neo Edmund (Jurassic Strike Force 5), Otis Frampton (Oddly Normal), Royden Lepp (Rust), and Jimmy Gownley (creator of Amelia Rules!).
