That's the day TERMINAL, the long overdue fifth book in the series, will be available exclusively on Amazon in Kindle and paperback. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BEC17B8/r...

If you'd like to get started now, the first seven chapters are on my website. http://www.karpkills.com/terminal.html

TERMINAL has been in my head and in my heart for a long time, but it would never have made it to the page without you. Thank you all for badgering the hell out of me for more Lomax and Biggs. It worked.

Note to those of you who haven't yet read the first four Lomax and Biggs books. You can start with TERMINAL. The "A Plot" will grab you before you've finished the first chapter, and I've done my best to weave the backstories through the book, so that even as you meet the characters for the first time, they'll feel like old friends. And the best part -- when you've finished TERMINAL, you still have the first four books to look forward to.

Please spread the word, and thank you for supporting my life of crime.

Below is the original response to Steve Tripp's question, posted over a year ago:

Steve, I ask myself the same question all the time. Despite the great reviews and a bunch of diehard readers that are just a few thousand whackos short of a cult following, the Lomax and Biggs series never took off. But did I sit around and whine about the lack of marketing support I received from not one, but two, publishers? Not me. Well, I might have, but James Patterson called me. I don't remember his exact words, but in my head it sounded like this — how would you like to coauthor a #1 bestseller and get paid well for doing it? Hell of a question, and best of all, it wasn’t multiple choice.

The first book, Kill Me If You Can, was a standalone, but then came NYPD Red, and a series was born. Red 3 will be out in March 2015, and I’m currently knee deep in Red 4. But like you, I can’t get Lomax and Biggs out of my system. So I started thinking about the next one, and when I had a great idea I submitted it to several publishers. They all said they’d be happy to work with me, but none of them wanted to publish the next book in a “failed series.” Publishing is a not-too-subtle blend of art and commerce, and as you can see, commerce always kicks art’s ass. Well, maybe not always. There’s at least one publisher out there who would like to see the next Lomax and Biggs, and they’ve asked me to write it.

So that’s what I’m doing. As for when you can get your fix, I can’t say, because the world’s best selling author takes precedence over two endearing cops from LA. But I am writing it. A little at a time — a murder here, a dead body there — Lomax and Biggs #5 is coming along. I can’t give you an exact pub date, but I can promise you this — it will be worth the wait. Thanks for asking.(less)

MARSHALL’S DOG JETT REVIEWS HIS LATEST BOOK, FLIPPING OUT

Authors are always looking for an early rave review to spark sales. So, who better to give me a 5 star review than my best friend? Mine is a Black Lab named Jett. I gave her a copy of Flipping Out, and asked her to write the review.

As you can see, the bitch can’t type. It came out looking like this.

So I decided to interview her:

MK: So how did you like the new Lomax and Biggs book?
