Official teaser trailer for Black Friday

So, Black Friday, my third dark science fiction novel will be out soon. I feel it’s my best work yet, combining the best elements of The Puller and The Invasive. And the novel does not take place in the wilderness this time, but rather a Chicago super mall on the notorious shopping holiday, Black Friday.

So, the cat is out of the toaster. A huge thanks to my awesome agent, Lane Heymont for getting the deal done. And thanks to my editor Gary for continuing to support my “outside the box” art.

Chicago to Big Sky

Today marks my two year anniversary of living in Missoula.

At the time, I had just finished filming in Glacier National Park, and set up “camp” at the Wingate hotel, lol. I’d just launched my debut novel so I was feeling free despite enduring a polar vortex, with wind chills down to – 60 in parts of Montana. The plan was to head back to Chicago after the storm.

I never did.

Instead, I hit up Craigslist and checked out a condo up in the South Hills. I plunked down some cash, and stayed.

I didn’t know anyone. But soon, I met great people…perhaps the friendliest I’ve ever known.

There’s a song by the artist Grizzly Bear that contains this lyric:

Silver and silent rushing on

Endless abundance overflows

Always surround you, always glows

That’s how I feel every morning in Montana. A land where the pavement ends. Where the strip malls end. Where rows of houses end.

It’s been an amazing two years. I hope to see more.

The Invasive to be an audio book by Tantor Media

I’m thrilled to announce that The Invasive is going to be an audiobook. Tantor Media has purchased audio rights, and the book is currently in production and available for pre-order on Amazon.

Black Friday, the novel

Hey everyone,

Yes, I’m still writing, and there’s a lot more to come. I’m working on The Invasive II, amongst other new tales. And I have a considerable backlog of novels waiting to be unleashed upon the world, muahaha. I also have a new fiction agent, Lane Heymont of Tobias Literary.

I recently received an offer from a publisher on my third novel, Black Friday. So expect that to be the next book.

And speaking of books, The Invasive continues to do really well on Amazon. It kind of just keeps hanging around. You can check it out here.

Winter has arrived in Missoula, Montana. The skies are grey and dreary. Everything is losing its color and there are less people outside.

Adventure in Glacier

I was lucky to get up to Glacier National Park from October 4-5th. On this shot, we had just emerged from miles of fog on the east side of Logan Pass. The west side felt tropical in comparison.
