On April 1st at 4pm PST I will be debuting my newest short cosmic horror story live on Instagram. This story is titled He Wouldn’t Say Its Name, the tale of an apartment complex plagued by an unnamable, malignant terror.

The Website Store is Now Live

It took a while, but my website’s store is now finally live!

Hey there! Been a bit!

The holiday season took a big bite out of me, but I’m back and ready to provide you all with some more regular updates on what’s been going on and what’s on the horizon.

200+ Copies of The Roots Grow Into the Earth Sold

I’m incredibly excited to share that my first collection of occult cosmic horror stories, The Roots Grow Into the Earth, has sold over two hundred copies since its release in October. For me this is a huge number, and I’ve been so thankful for the support I’ve received in this release!

If you haven’t gotten your copy of this book yet, make sure to check it out at your favorite online retailer, or ask for a copy from your local bookstore.

More in the Realm of Horror

I have some larger writing projects in the works right now, including a couple of novels and a few short stories. I’m not sure when these all will be released, as they’re still in the early drafting stages, but you’ll hear about them as soon as news is available.

If you have been looking for some more horror from me, though, I’m happy to announce that a short story of mine, titled Room for Two, is going to be included in an upcoming horror anthology titled Curbside Curses: The Yardsale Anthology! Each story in this anthology explores a cursed item found at a neighborhood yardsale, and I’m so excited to have my work on display next to some truly fantastic horror authors.

In the Realm of Poetry

In addition to this anthology collection, I’m also preparing to publish my first collection of poetry in May this year, which is to be a major deviation from the cosmic horror I’ve written so far.

Titled ‘a broken vase, envenomed,’ this collection is a deeply personal one for me, containing poems I’ve written during my journey of processing trauma from surviving emotional and psychological abuse throughout nine years of intimate partner violence. This experience is something I’ve committed to speaking out about in the hopes of helping others in their own journeys, and this poetry collection is part of this.

‘a broken vase, envenomed’ has a planned release day somewhere between May 20th and May 23rd, and will be available wherever books are sold. If you’re keen on reading it early, however, I’m hoping to have ARCs available starting in March on Bookfunnel and Booksirens.

Fortnightly Writing Update: Episode 11

I’m back with another fortnightly writing update, in which I’ll be covering what’s been going on in the Universe of Roots!

Writing Updates

The past two weeks I’ve been going back and forth between working on two different projects: the outline for my first novel, and a short story. I’m hoping to have the short story out in November or December, and that will be appearing here on the website. For the novel, I’m planning on doing as much of my drafting as I can in November, with the hopes of having a full draft to work with in December.

The Roots Grow Into the Earth Updates

The Roots Grow Into the Earth had a great first two weeks, and I’m super pleased with the reception for my collection of occult cosmic horror stories! If you haven’t grabbed a copy yet, make sure to do so at your favorite digital vendor, or request a copy at your local bookstore!

If you’re interested in a signed copy, I’m also working on a gift bag of sorts for the book, which will include a signed copy and a bookmark. These will start becoming available in November/December.

Other Updates

On Halloween, I’ll be doing another live reading on Instagram from The Roots Grow Into the Earth, and afterwards I might be playing a scary video game live on Twitch TV! In addition, it’s possible that I will be able to secure a book signing event in the Bay Area, California, so stay tuned for that!

Fortnightly Writing Update: Episode 10

Hello! I’m back with another fortnightly writing update, in which I cover what I’ve been working on between writing and publishing.

Writing Updates

The past few weeks I’ve resumed work on my next major project, which is a novel I’d like to publish next year. Most of my work has been focused on outlining new chapters and targeting plot holes in the existing chapters. Other than the novel there’s one other writing project I’ve dabbled with a bit, which will be coming to the website once it’s finished.

Publishing Updates

On the publishing side of things, work is all done on my upcoming collection, The Roots Grow Into the Earth, and the book releases tomorrow! I’m very excited, and very nervous, for this release, and I also can’t wait to share what’s coming next.

Very much a short update this week, but for the next writing update you can expect to hear a bit more about the in progress novel, and perhaps some information about how it is related to The Roots Grow Into the Earth.
