The Shadow and the Star
I had one of the most interesting experiences in listening to the audiobook of The Shadow and the Star. I'd requested that Samuel's accent be "American" because he left England as a young boy, and I reasoned that he'd purposely try to leave behind his street accent, and speak like the people around him, to fit in.
