The author of over 50 consecutive New York Times bestsellers, JAYNE ANN KRENTZ writes romantic-suspense in three different worlds: Contemporary (as Jayne Ann Krentz), historical (as Amanda Quick) and futuristic (as Jayne Castle). There are over 30 million copies of her books in print.

She earned a B.A. in History from the University of California at Santa Cruz and went on to obtain a Masters degree in Library Science from San Jose State University in California. Before she began writing full time she worked as a librarian in both academic and corporate libraries.

Hi, I l really enjoy your books and often go back to them when I am wanting a comfort read. You seem to have a regular publishing schedule so how long does it take to write one of your books and do you alternate Quick/Castle/Krentz in a particular pattern? Also early on you did some historicals that were pre- victorian (regency and medieval) will you ever re-visit these periods or perhaps others?

Yes, I know that sounds simplistic but here's how it works: I think in terms of scenes. Each scene is a short story with a beginning, middle and end. If one scene isn't working I write around it -- I skip ahead to another scene or go back to an earlier scene that needs work. Or maybe I'll just write about the weather in a troublesome scene. Here's the secret: creativity generates creativity. If you stop, the act of creation stops.(less)
