Kim and her husband, Rob, have been married for 34 years and have two amazing children who are happily married to amazing people. It's the best!

As a couple, they enjoy mentoring couples who are preparing for marriage or wanting to improve their marriage. They have seen, again and again, that even in the toughest circumstances, God is faithful to do the "heavy lifting" in bringing health and healing to a marriage when the couple is willing to surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Kim is on staff at a church in a role where her genuine love for people intersects with her passion for processes, systems, and details. She loves strong coffee, beautiful words, and spending quality time with her family.

God Whispers

Three granddaughters so far. Being their “Nan” is nothing short of amazing – a high privilege, a cherished role, utter joy.

Hazel, the oldest, is curious, kind, and watchful. A helper already. She understands so much these days and has a charming lilt in her voice when she asks, “Why?” She has a confident, gentle way of interacting with the people around her. When we’re together, and she’s still l

“It doesn’t matter what the specific decision is. Unmade decisions hold power. They pull, they push, they interrupt where they aren’t wanted and poke us awake at night.”
Emily P. Freeman, The Next Right Thing: A Simple, Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions

“Fear not tomorrows, child of the King; Trust them with Jesus: Do the next thing.”

“It could help to remember these words, also from Dallas Willard: I’ve learned not to worry about whether or not this is going to work. I know it does not have to work, but I am sure that it will work if God has something he really wants me to know or do. This is ultimately because I am sure of how great and good he is.”
Emily P. Freeman, The Next Right Thing: A Simple, Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions

Emily P. Freeman
“Our choices shape our lives, and they shape us. But we remain in God’s hand no matter what. Let’s begin to trust ourselves as we walk with our friend Jesus. Let’s embrace the courage to choose what’s best and the faith to come back when we choose what isn’t. Let’s refuse to carry shame for our lack of clarity but allow our questions to linger if they need to as we wait for seeds to grow. Let’s remember that though we may have to wait and see, we never have to wait to be.”
Emily P. Freeman, The Next Right Thing: A Simple, Soulful Practice for Making Life Decisions

Tyler Staton
“Will the pain, suffering, and needs that intrude on our own stories harden our hearts, or will they soften our souls? How does the very pain that is eating us alive become an agent of deep transformation? We have to invite God—the very One who broke our trust—into the muck with us. We invite the One we are labeling “perpetrator” to be our healer. It’s the most courageous of all choices.”
