Tim Ryan works and plays in and around Calgary, Alberta. He lives with his wife and daughter, a bossy cat, and a curious rabbit. He is the winner of the AlbertaViews short story contest. Tim’s work has appeared in Grain Magazine, The Prairie Journal of Canadian Literature, The Write Launch, Prometheus Dreaming, and more. East Grand Lake is his first novel.

A wonderful short story collection. Homourous, bawdy at times, but mainly so different in perspective (laotian immigrants to Canada) that I felt like I was learning something every story yet being entertained the entire time. Highly recommended.

4 of the five chapters are captivating. It felt like the second last chapter could have used some editing.
