Gem searching, troll work?
Rosalie grabbed the book on trolls from her bookshelf and showed it to Annika and Maarten.
"You don't look like the one on the cover. That picture, that's just how people have always made pictures of trolls. I wrote a series about trolls, witches, fairies and more, all people I knew from folk tales. But as I wrote, I got the feeling that these were actually ordinary people who had a special gift hidden in their souls, a gift that didn't really come out. And I thought then, there would come a time when I would discover these people, would recognize them. And now here you are ... You look like ordinary people, but you have lived like the trolls in this book. The trolls in this book were also looking for precious things like gems. Those trolls also hid, they felt unwelcome, unloved. But as I wrote, I also felt that they were also beautiful people who were really only looking for beautiful things and wanted something with them, but didn't know what and how..."

Painting from within
Gloria got the idea to put on music. 'Maybe,' she thought to herself, 'maybe then an idea, an image, a picture will bubble up by itself...'
She chose a clip of Sjaak and Lisa, the clip they had made in the beginning, a clip in which the music sounded like a huge water spectacle: like a river and a waterfall, water flowing quietly, and a moment later falling down with much noise.
She turned on the music and decided to at least add shades of blue to her palette. She complemented it with white, yellow, brown and black, picked up a rather coarse brush and started mixing. Without waiting for a picture, she started painting, to the smooth flow of the music. Not surprisingly, a wide river formed, which, as the music dropped the water, turned into a waterfall.
She heaved a deep sigh after the last notes of the second round of the clip. Only then did she allow herself time to look closely at her work. She felt the water flowing, she heard the effervescence echoing in her soul and sighed again. She looked for a brush with bristles a bit wider apart. She took a bit of white paint and made some extra foam heads.

Feel what's happening
The construction workers nodded, reflecting on this situation.
"I don't want to judge anyone, you know, but I just have to get used to this. It is so different from what we are used to, but I do feel, this is right. These girls... I've known them for years. They belong together, without a doubt, that was visible, palpable from the first time I saw them," one of the construction workers verbalised how he felt.
"And that's just the way it is!" said Simon. "You guys are lucky, I think you are just about the first ones to experience this. I've never heard of two such young people moving in together before."

Parenting and letting go
Rosalie and Gloria nodded enthusiastically, and Robert replied, "They're going to live there, Simon. You can build it!"
"Great Gloria, Rosalie, how nice for you!" Annerieke came up to them and put her arms around them. "You have been looking forward to this all these years, and now suddenly it is coming very close."
She hugged the girls and then went to Huib and Margreet. She put her hands on their shoulders and said, "You are great parents, and so are you, Patrick and Bea. Raising your children is one thing, letting them go is quite another. I'm proud of you, or rather mostly glad you're taking this step!"
Simon nodded: "I completely agree. Do you remember when we were talking about parenting? In the guesthouse kitchen..."
"Oh yes, I remember that very well," Margreet said. "Even though you had absolutely no experience of it yourself, you sensed very clearly that it was about living together, letting them do it themselves, and above all letting them be themselves, and helping them when necessary."
"Exactly!" Simon grinned. "And that still applies when you're living on your own, ladies. If you need help, just knock.

"Tomorrow?" asked William, but Huib already did not hear, walking over to the coffee table and engaging Simon in conversation. William saw that Simon was looking at him. Simon smiled at him and raised his thumb. A moment later, he joined William in the grass.
"Let me see, architect, what is it going to be?"
"Pretty much like this, this is not a very good drawing yet, I'm going to make it later," William promised.
Simon nodded, "I heard, you're going to make the building out of wooden blocks and broomsticks with Huib first. Good idea, then it will also be visible to me in two ways how you saw it envisioned. Did you dream it again, like that house of Gloria and Rosalie?"
William nodded: "Yes, and I walked all the way through it, up to the top, and then down in the lift. And then I ate a sandwich in the restaurant. Nice huh?"

"Martie?" whispered Margreet. "How did you do that? How did you melt the two together?"
Martie's face began to glow, "I just didn't feel like twisting those nasty prickly pieces of iron wire around anything anymore. I felt something weird in my belly, a kind of ball. It started wriggling and tingling there. And then I looked at that piece of iron wire in my hand, that piece I was holding against that bend here. It felt strange, like that wriggle and tickle was coming out from inside. Power of my soul... yes, that's it. Those words suddenly come into my head. Power of my soul. That melts the threads together."

Soul Connection
Bianca nodded: "Yes, he talked about Butterfly and Carina. Quite apart, Carina he has seen so rarely, I think only twice."
"Christy too, she hardly knows the girl, at least by our adult standards. But I did notice a soul-connection between them too. They have a razor-sharp sense of each other."
"That is indeed true, Jarno also has that with Carina. So we can actually conclude that they know each other very well, much better than through our old-fashioned way of getting to know people by talking and participating in activities together."

When you know what to do...
Fiona recounted Christy's dream and asked, "Do you have any idea who these children are?"
Fiona saw that Alex had tears in his eyes and that he nodded. "Yes, recently, while talking with Johan about his work, I saw like in a dream that Christy and Jarno were singing for the children who have been so terribly abused. Not just here in the Netherlands, but all over the world. Everywhere, children have been trafficked, kidnapped, and gathered in the caves of people who abused and mistreated them. A lot of children have even been sacrificed there, but those that are still alive have now been taken away. Johan explained that although he could convict the perpetrators, and that this allowed him to give those children some freedom in a way, he didn't feel he could offer them much healing, that that would be the work of other children. And then I got that image, that kind of dream, and I told him. Then he started crying, saying that he had seen the same thing, also about Vlinder. I didn't hear him about Carina, but he did say that those children lost their fear."
"So Christy dreamt what they are going to do in reality..." whispered Fiona. "Worldwide... she's only just three!"
Alexander chuckled. "Christy, Jarno, Butterfly and Carina also have parents. For example, if one parent of each child were to go with them, so the other could take care of the other children at home... or some other solution, I have no idea, but that will come. We really won't let them go alone, Fiona!"

Emotional release
"I was with Jarno with a lot of children. Most of the children were still very small. They were lying in cots or on mattresses. They were lying all curled up. It seemed like they thought no one would see them then. I started singing, and Jarno sang along, playing guitar. And as I sang, I noticed that more and more children were lying a little differently, not so much curled up. They were otherwise lying very still. I think they were listening. Vlinder entered the room, she danced among all those children. She did it very carefully, she didn't touch anyone. She was so beautiful, with those butterfly wings and that cute wrinkle skirt Fredy has created. And she really danced like a butterfly, very light, almost floating. And suddenly there came many more such dancers. They were slightly smaller than Vlinder, and they also had wings with very beautiful colours, just like Vlinder. I didn't know these dancers, but it seemed as if Vlinder had known them for a long time. Jarno and I kept singing, Vlinder and the other girls danced, and then Carina came. She had actually been there all along, but she had been sitting in a corner all this time. Carina stood up and walked a little way down the hall. She squatted down near a little child and held out her hands to him. The little boy did not react, just looked with big, frightened eyes. Fiona, I have never seen frightened children before, but I felt that this little boy was very frightened, afraid that Carina would hurt him. Carina stroked his head very gently with one hand, just for a moment. And then over his arm. The boy came up, sat down and looked at Carina. I could see he was not afraid anymore. And Carina held out her hands again, and now the little boy let himself fall into her arms like this. She stroked his back and rocked him."

A lampshade?
Just as she finished, Huib came home for a drink. He looked surprised at the beautiful shape of circles.
"Martie, what a beautiful lampshade that turned out to be! Or am I saying something really crazy?" he said, sitting down next to her.
Martie looked up in surprise, while a bright smile slowly appeared on her face. "A lampshade! That's it! You can fiddle a string of very small lamps through here, then you'll have a very nice lamp to hang from the ceiling. Can we do that Huib? Do you have a string of little lamps?"
"Yep, those little ones we always use in winter to hang outside, to make the garden a bit cosy on those dark days. Shall we fiddle those through in a moment?"
Martie nodded eagerly. "I'd really like that!"
