When Heather Malboeuf told me about the idea she had for a children's book last year I encouraged her to write it down, and that I would possibly help her edit it and do the illustrations.

Six months later she presented me with the printed manuscript, and a flash drive. I listened to it first over the PDF reader on my laptop and was intrigued by the time I was finished. It's a great little story for parents to read to their preschool kids.

Because the characters were creatures of the woodland, I chose to use a variety of pencil leads, and smudging, to do the illustrations. It gave the images a very organic look that suited the story.
