For as long as I can remember, I've been a writer . . .and it has served me well. I wrote for local publications, wrote marketing and advertising materials, wrote for academic publications, and eventually grew jaded with the writing profession as I often watched others take credit for my hard work. I retreated into the world of 3-D art in the fiber and textile mediums and hid out in a world of colors and textures. But, truth is, there was always a story or two in my head. It wasn't until Nikki and I met in my imagination that I decided it was time to let those stories out, and I'm glad I did. My readers now get to enjoy the fruits of my imagination and, believe me, it runs wild!
On the personal side, I've been happily married to my lover and best friend for over thirty years, and I have two wonderful adult kids who've blessed me with two excellent choices of life partners. Winter Storms
I have family in Maine. For anyone who's in the path of the recent blizzard, and more expected snow, I hope you stay warm and safe.
My Inner Voice
Yes, I have one, we all do. I never thought about it until I read a recent comment from someone who left a wonderful, 5-star review for Wild Marauders MC. In describing me, she said:
I’ve been fortunate over the past year to have quite a few times to “chat” with Tory and she is just the sweetest thing ever… confident, yet simultaneously questioning her writing and you expect these wonderfully sweet romances – right up to the point where you realize that Tory’s inner voice has a MOUTH on her! LOL!
I can't argue with that because it's true. I like to believe that I am sweet. I know that I'm easy going, and it takes a lot to rile me. But when I'm writing stand back! I can't afford not to give my characters the freedom to speak their minds.

Did he think that he could turn that look on her, along with that famous half-grin that sent deep grooves down his cheeks and made fingers itch to touch them and females swoon at his feet? He was still the lying, no good cowboy who had played her for a fool and then left her behind when the bright lights beckoned. He wanted her? Well, he'd had her once, but never again. Cold blue eyes pinned him. “People don’t always get what they want, J.D. But sometimes they do get what they deserve.”
When Mandy stood looking at him with those blue eyes, where once there had been the warmth of love glowing in them for him, there was now a cool curtain, devoid of anything but a banked anger mixed with a dash of indifference. For some reason, he felt he had been judged and found lacking in her estimation. He definitely had to regroup. There was another battle ahead, and he had fought many in his lifetime and won each of them. This would be the most important one. Losing was not an option.
