What is this book about?

I suppose many people looking at my book cover think, Oh, this must be a book about the Lyft company or rideshare in general. It is not.

The book is about how people dealt with the pandemic. It is a collection of illuminating short stories. It is a book about the value of conversations with strangers and what we can learn from chance meetings. I try and disregard the naysayers on LinkedIn and beyond that choose to post complaints they have with the Lyft company...that palaver has nothing to do with my book or the generous folks at Lyft that have chosen to read what I think is a pretty good book.

I encourage you to get the eBook version and read it. It may never become a best-seller, but it is a genuinely valuable and entertaining read. #lyft, #uber, #lyftdriver, #booklovers, #goodreads, #influencer,

The Promise of History

Someday in the future when history catches up...to the now, and I am long gone, a curious younger person might ask their parents, "What was it like during the 20s pandemic?"

I am hoping that is when my book, Everyone Needs A Lyft: My Thirty-Day Odyssey as a Lyft Driver will gain a following. It is exactly a snapshot of 30 short stories that captures beautifully what the pandemic was like...how people struggled and coped with illness, death, vaccines, and quarantines.

These 30 stories are full of serendipity, empathy, and hope. They will thrill and break your heart. I highly recommend you get a jump on history by reading it today. That way when that young person asks you what it was like during the pandemic, you will be armed with a great answer!

Thank you.

Welcome to my Goodreads Blog

This week marks seven months+ since my wife's ovarian cancer diagnosis last Nov. It has been a challenging period for our family. She is doing OK as her treatment. I was all ready to retire from teaching. Yet, I merely switched roles from professor to personal caregiver. I managed to write a book (and publish it) during the switch, a godsend for us. I have been told by many it is a great read. I am proud of the accomplishment, but I am more impressed with my wife's fortitude and positive spirit while facing her illness. She is the true Godsend. I dedicated the book to her.

The sales proceeds from the Everyone Needs A Lyft book will help us pay for the cancer treatments. You can help us out by purchasing an eBook at: https://lnkd.in/gfghrzSt

You won't be disappointed. For the price of a cup of coffee ($2.99) you can enjoy a great read, and know you helped heal my deserving wife.
