Valhalla Post 28: Focus
Hello everyone! Terribly sorry that it's been a while. End of the year seasonal time quickly became wedding time! Needless to say, I was busy. But, on the bright side, all of this time away has brought tremendous focus for me in hoping to finish this book! In fact, since I started writing again, I've written about 1 chapter per week. (It's been 2 weeks) that said, I am falling pretty far behind in editing now, but I think I would like to try and focus primarily on writing, but I will try to edit a page or two along the way. Speaking of writing, this is the update!
Book 3 written: ~77%
Don't have an update on editing yet because there has been no progress there, for now. I am currently planning on focusing on finishing the book and I am going to roughly estimate an April release for book 3, officially.
Until next time! Take care, my Rising Stars!

Valhalla Post 27: Vacation and Troubles
Hello everyone! Terribly sorry that I've been quiet for so long. I wish I could say it had to do with the book, but I'm sorry to say that it hasn't. But, I do have a quick update!
Book 3 written: ~69.2%
Book 3 edited: ~61.5%
I am down to writing the last 7 or so chapters of the book, so I am still fairly optimistic to have it done before the end of the year. However, as I'm sure you can tell, compared to the last post this is little progress made very slowly. Unfortunately, this is due to starting school again, taking my last vacation of the year, and dealing with a pretty terrible back issue. Due to all of those, I am somewhat saddened to note that my work on the book has been slow and many times nearly non-existent. I'm terribly sorry about that.
All those things said though, all of those have been fixed or ended. I was able to write more of the book, as well as... well, this. With any luck, it will remain this nice with all of my health and spare time available to put towards this next book. I am hoping to give a great post with lots of good news next time.
Until then, take care of your health my Rising Stars!

Valhalla Post 26: Writing Length
Hello everyone once again! I've remembered to update after two weeks this time. I want to talk about recent observation on the length of my writing. But first! An update.
Book 3 written: 66%
Book 3 edited: 58%
Clearly, this time I've done much more editing than writing. However, this is also, in many ways, deceiving. When it comes to editing, I know exactly how much ground I've covered. If I know a chapter is 8 pages, then obviously 2 pages of that is 1/4th of a chapter, so if a chapter is worth, say, 2%, I'm therefore 0.5% more edited than before. Simple. Easy.
My writing, however, is a little more difficult. While I have technically written only 2% compared to last time, what I mean is I've only covered 2% of the topics I wish to cover in the book from last time. In the first book, this was accomplished in roughly 5 pages that made up 2 chapters. This time, each chapter is closer to 5 pages each. The chapter counts are lower in comparison to the first book, but the page count is, at times, more than double. So, while my progress seems much smaller, the truth is my writing has just been lengthening according to what I'm writing. Some scenes are simply longer/larger once I've put them into words, and my words are getting better as I continue making progress (or so I like to think at least).
In short, while this is a "net win" for my book and my writing, it is a bit of a "loss" when it comes to progress. I believe Book 3 will be my largest and, hopefully, best book yet. But it will be completed slower. For that, I apologize, but I am still quite resolved with my current goals. I am still on track for an October release. If this changes, I will let you know through more blog posts.
Until next time, keep working hard and getting better at all that you do! My Rising Stars!

Valhalla Post 25: Resolve
Boy do I hope I have a good update this time. First, I'll start with the good news. I made really good progress on the next book. Check it out!
Book 3 written: 64%
Book 3 edited: 54%
Admittingly, it is writing heavy, but writing takes more time than editing does. I can easily edit 1 page a day by taking only about 30 minutes or so on it, but it can take 1-2 hours to write 1 page. It depends on my focus and diction that day. However, the thing I wanted to discuss was my current stance on resolve.
Now, it's hard to resolve to do something within certain time frames for me. I'm always trying to do close to 5 things at any one time, and sometimes I end the day with only 20 minutes of time and it's hard to convince myself to do editing before bed when I'd like to just sink into my chair and watch an episode or maybe play a single level in a game. Despite that, I am resolved to finish this book before the end of this year. Specifically, I'm aiming to have it printed during October. If I can keep to my own timeline, the writing would be done early October. But I'm not perfect, so it could be late October. Then again, life could turn out differently than I'm hoping in the coming months. But, as it stands, I am resolved to finish the next book by the end of October. If not then, then for sure by the end of the year, even if I have to lock myself in my room during my next day off to force myself to work on it.
Well, that's all! I hope you all keep your resolve to further your own goals and dreams. Until next time, keep pushing forward, my Rising Stars!

Valhalla Post 24: Over-Creativity
Hello everyone! Terribly sorry for the long delay in blog posting. After vacation, I had to buy a new car and have also had to work eight days straight. But enough about that, I want to talk about one of my personal author issues. But first, an update!
book 3 written: ~55%
Book 3 edited: 50%
One of my issues is honestly that I'm a little too over creative. Not only do I want to write IoV books, but I want to write other series and single books; as well as a wish to create my very own Dungeons and Dragons campaign. On top of that, I would like to create the audiobook for IoV and I just want to do too many things and I don't have enough time. I am going to do my best to try and focus down on one thing at a time, but I truly can't make any promises because this is becoming a very blatant problem for me and my writing progress. After this book, I may write one of my one shot ideas to help get rid of some of the extra creative energy, but I'm still trying to decide if that's the best course of action. If anyone has any comments or ideas on this, please let me know!
Until next time, stay safe and keep creating wonderful things of your own! My Rising Stars!

Valhalla Post 23: Vacation
Hello everyone! I know it's been a while, but I have the next official post! First, of course, the update.
Book 3 written: ~53%
Book 3 edited: 50%
I am a little saddened by my slow writing progress, but I am glad to be getting back into it. The main point of this blog post is to inform everyone that I will be taking a ~8 day vacation soon, so the next blog post I may make about something other than progress since I'll be missing over half the days between posts to said vacation.
So, until next time, take it easy! My Rising Stars!

Quick Update: Not Dead
Hello everyone! I would like to apologize for my long absence. I'm afraid that I caught Covid and, when I was finally starting to get better, I got a really nasty ear infection that was honestly as bad as when I first caught Covid. I was bedridden for about 2 week and only just barely starting to recover for the last week while also getting back to work.
Needless to say, I haven't really made any progress on writing or editing, but I think I should be back to it soon, now that I've truly begun to recover. I have also decided to change from a weekly release for my blog updates to bi-monthly instead. Well, I suppose my life has already caused me to do so, but I wanted to officially announce that that was the plan.
Anyways, just letting everyone know I'm not dead, just horribly sick and recovering! Remember to take care of yourselves out there!

Valhalla Post 22: Writer's New Grove
Hello everyone and welcome back! Good news this time, I finally found my creative groove again and I will be doing my best to keep it as much as possible! Speaking of, here's the update:
Book 3 written: ~51%
Book 3 edited: ~47%
I know in total it's not a huge difference and more of it was spent on editing than writing, but progress is always progress. Truth be told, I have a lot of back and forth with myself on what to do after book 3. I know, the obvious answer is "work on book 4" but it also doesn't feel that obvious. I feel like Book 1 does the rest of the books a bit of a disservice by being a little too... Fresh off the cuff? Inexperienced? I don't mind some of that being in there because it's also the most inexperienced that Noir is in his journey, but I think I want to freshen it up a bit, maybe like a book that combines books 1 and 2 after 1 has been patched up nicer, and then maybe even create an audiobook for the first two books.
For a quick note, I would like all of these things to happen, I'm just not sure which should happen next after book 3. I know I have some time, especially with my pacing lately, but it is all stuff I feel I must strongly consider.
If you have any opinions or thoughts, feel free to let me know! Otherwise, I'll see you all next time, my Rising Stars!

short little update, not dead
Hello everyone! Just want to give a quick update because I know I've been quiet for a while. I unfortunately didn't quite make my writing/editing goals before I moved. Turns out we had a lot more to pack than I thought. Between packing, moving, unpacking, getting new furniture, etc. I haven't found time to figure out exactly what I need in my new place to just sit down and lose myself in writing/editing. I've been really busy, and now I just have a restless energy that makes it really hard to sit down and focus.
Short version, I've been busy and I am taking a break from writing/editing for this week, but I am going to find that zone/area where I can write next week, I promise.
Until then, everyone stay safe and forgive me for how slow this book has been to write!

Valhalla Post 21: Halfway
Hello again everyone! Here again with another update. Short version? I'm halfway through my timeframe and halfway through both my writing and my editing that I wanted to do in said timeframe. And I have even more news, specifically:
Book 3 written: 50%
Book 3 edited: ~45%
I am exactly where I want to be at this point for the writing of Book 3. It's been a lot longer than I wanted it to be, but I think my writing is slowly becoming more detailed and therefore my writing is also becoming much longer. This isn't great in terms of my speed to make progress, but I'm hoping that it means it will bring a much better book to all of you, my dear readers. I need to do a sizable amount of writing still and even more so for editing, but I'm really hoping to hit my goals before the 17th, which is looking pretty good so far.
I hope all is well for you, my readers! Take care of yourselves, my Rising Stars! Until next time!
