BookBub is expensive, but lists like Fussy Librarian are more affordable. I'm not really sure about promotion people or companies to hire. I usually do my stuff on case by case basis. Some people pay for reviews at Kirkus or blog posts in popular spots, but honestly it all depends on the book and audience. I do pay for some Facebook ads and I know some folks do Instagram ads as well. (less)

Can We Offer Alternatives to Anger and Despair That Meet Our Current Moment?

To even write about the current crisis in America seems to require saying something that proves or identifies the crisis for those not yet convinced we are in a crisis.

That simple act of proving reality to skeptics is when the wheels start falling off for me.

We are so saturated in propaganda, infotainment, and reactionary rage bait on social media that we seemingly have to begin any discussion

“When you're hounded by the shame of the past, you can turn into a pretty miserable person who is always trying to measure up and please others.”
Ed Cyzewski, Pray, Write, Grow: Cultivating Prayer and Writing Together

“We have faith that the practices of silence, praying with scripture, or reciting the prayers passed on to us will bear fruit over time. If we continue to fight through our fears and anxieties in order to sit in silence, we trust that God can meet us, even if it leads to results we aren't expecting or doesn't even result in quantifiable progress.”
Ed Cyzewski, Pray, Write, Grow: Cultivating Prayer and Writing Together

“If you're trying to add something to your life without subtracting something else, there's a good chance the stuff that's already there will win.”
Ed Cyzewski, Pray, Write, Grow: Cultivating Prayer and Writing Together

“Your True Self is who you are, and always have been in God . . . The great surprise and irony is that "you," or who you think you are, have nothing to do with its original creation or its demise. It's sort of disempowering and utterly empowering at the same time, isn't it? All you can do is nurture it.”
Richard Rohr, Immortal Diamond: The Search for Our True Self
