Born and raised in Detroit, Jim attended Catholic schools all the way through college: Gesu Grade School, University of Detroit Jesuit High School, University of Notre Dame (BBA); and Walsh College (MSM).

Jim's career includes the financial services sector: Insurance, Trust Officer, Investment Advisor, and Certified Financial Planner.

He was also the Faculty Chair at Oakland University's Personal Financial Planning Program where he taught insurance, investments, taxation, retirement planning and estate planning, as well as the capstone course Creating a Financial Plan.
