David Valovcin was raised in Fairfield, Connecticut. David was a double major and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems and his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from Fairfield University. He also earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Fairfield University.

David’s first book, A Desk to Lean On, took him on an exciting journey from the early phase of brainstorming through to final publication. It was definitely a wonderful feeling of accomplishment. Ever since that book was published, David is very excited to write more children’s books!

How do you deal with writer’s block?

David Valovcin Whenever I get stuck, no matter where I am in the process of writing the book whether it be the initial brainstorming or when I am pulling together se…moreWhenever I get stuck, no matter where I am in the process of writing the book whether it be the initial brainstorming or when I am pulling together sentences, I don't try to force myself through the writer's block. I take a step back, relax, and patiently wait. The cause of the writer's block may not be quickly resolved but I find that, for me, when I am in a relaxed mode where my attention is not specifically on my book, is the time when new ideas come to me that help with the writing process.(less)
